Review of Domus Fontis 2*

My husband and I were lucky enough to visit Roma for 7 nights in late February/early March. We feel that Roma really is a city best enjoyed by foot, so for us location was key. We could not have found a better location to stay than the Domus Fontis! As other reviews have indicated, this B&B is just steps from the Fontana di Trevi (Trevi Fountain) and within walking distance (20 minutes max) of so many must-see attractions in Roma. We walked to the Spanish Steps, the Colloseum, Villa Borghese, Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori, numerous shopping areas. If we needed other transportation, the Metro (Barberini or Piazza di Spagna stops) was just a short walk away and taxis were always available either at the Fontana or the nearby taxi stop on Via del Tritone. Besides the location, the B&B itself was fantastic. We have not stayed at many B&Bs, and we appreciated the almost "hybrid" (hotel and B&B) nature of Domus Fontis. The rooms have a modern hotel feel, but since there are only 4, there is still a cozy atmosphere. Breakfast was delivered on a cart to our room at the time of our choosing. The breakfast was substantial (wonderful fresh pastries, yogurt, prosciutto, cheeses, various breads, etc. ) and we appreciated being to eat it in the privacy of our room. The Nespresso machine in the room was terrific for morning coffee and a pre-dinner pick-me-up. Our room was very quiet, and was meticulously clean. The owners and on-site staff are all wonderful to work with. Staying at the Domus Fontis almost made us feel as though we were at our own apartment in Roma! We give the Domus Fontis our highest recommendation.
