Unique place! Especially when you see the Pope. Sunday at 12.00pm. Everyone can see the Pope. At. Peter's Basilica is free to visit, there is always a massive queue but is amazing experience! And also you can go to the top of the Basilica (the dome) it cost €8 by foot or €10 by the lift! Incredible view from the Dome! Enjoy the St. Peter's Basilica! Enjoy in Rome.

I visited Vatican city with a large group of friends. Although none of us were there for religious reasons, we still liked seeing the epic structures with it's rich decoration. We travelled up the staircase to the cupola (551 steps! ) to view the fantastic sight from the top of the cupola. Do note that you may not bring any food or potentially harmful objects, and you will be searched before entering Vatican City.

Basilica: Cool site to visit with free entrance! It's huge and very elaborate. There can be a bit of a line to get in purely for the security check but it's not that bad. Dome: Great site but even with the elevator ride, there are still quite a few steps to get to the top in tight spaces. Not for those who struggle with stairs or are claustrophobic. It's also one way, so once you start, you can't really go back. It's also super cramped at the top so you're tight with a lot of people for quite a while. The views are quite nice of the square.

The entrance to the cathedral is free, but to enter, you need to stand in line and pass the inspection. Don't be put off, the process is smoothed out, the queue moves quickly. And even if you are indifferent to the architecture of an atheist, it is still worth going inside, this place is able to impress!
You can also climb the dome of the cathedral and admire from a height on Rome and the Vatican. Only the entrance to the dome is already paid, of course. If you walk — the ticket will cost a little cheaper, if you drive part of the way by elevator — more expensive. But at the top still all have to climb the stairs. First you find yourself under the dome inside. From this height, the people who walk down the cathedral seem like tiny goosebumps. At the same time the dome is so huge that its very top is still somewhere high in the distance. Then you climb the stairs, which are located a little under the slope right in the dome between its inner and outer surfaces. And then you go out into the air and you have a beautiful panorama.

Absolutely amazing. Hard to find words to describe so I wouldn't try. If you are adventurous go up to the top of the dome. 10€ takes you there with elevator ride. It saves you climbing 300+ stairs. (8€ pure climbing, no elevator) What they forget to mention is that you'd still have to climb 350 stairs after the elevator ride. It could be considered strenuous as it's pretty narrow and curvy. All in all it's more than worth it mainly because of the view (on a rainy day you're out of luck) but the dome itself from inside is pretty interesting, too. Good luck.

St. Peter's Basilica is an amazing place! Just the indescribable beauty of this building both inside and out. How many different statues, basil, obelisks and paintings. Extraordinarily beautiful and impressive. Here you can walk for hours, admire all this beauty.
There's always a queue at the entrance. But it moves fast enough, so it will not be long to stand. They're wearing shorts, but only if they're below the knees. Girls must have their shoulders covered. Admission is free.

Beautiful place, crowds of people, including extremely exotic origin from all over the world, very interesting finish inside, beautiful marble statues and compositions, ornament, tombs, stunning architectural ensemble, a large number wanting to get inside. The most convenient time or earlier morning or shortly before the close, minutes for 40-50, the truth and time is a little quite to view, but you do not need to defend the long queues. I'm neither Catholic nor religious as such, but the basilica is an amazing place to visit. The artwork and architecture alone make it worthwhile. I liked they have secluded naves dedicated just for prayer of visitors. I could have wished for so seating even, if only to keep people from leaning and seating against walls and columns. Be prepared, however, for crowds. It's a huge building, but you can still feel the press of people, especially the guided tour groups.

Amazingly beautiful and incredible site. When entering the church and the Sistine Chapel knees and shoulders must be covered because they are holy places. Sandals and tattoos are permitted. There is no speaking and no picture taking in the Sistine Chapel. Go early if possible and buy tickets in advance because it gets very packed and the ticket line stretches for a quarter mile to buy tickets at entry. Please be respectful and follow the rules. Insanely beautiful and Majestic place. We were with my husband in the beginning of March (it was hot enough, in T-shirts dressed) tourists there on a course at any time very much, so prepare to stand in a queue-it quickly passes. Really helpful on arrival took time to show us the facilities and very happy the accommodation immaculate and spacious we had our own outside space with was worth it Very well placed for all places of interest especially the Vatican so handy I would recommend and hope to return Ann porter.

Great place too visit. We went in December 2017. It felt crowded but was told it was actually the slow Season. So I imagine the Summer brings 3 to 5X more visitors. Still despite the cold weather we enjoyed our time. Walking down all the narrow cobblestone streets, drinking coffee and just checking out all the beautiful art and history is something we won't forget. This picture was taken after a slight rain. We were walking back to our hotel and I happen to walk right by a puddle. To give St Peter Basilica a unique perspective I used the reflection from the puddle to capture this beautiful image. We walked all the way up to the center and there were nativity scenes around. We felt very safe as there were a strong Police and Military presence around. Definitely will try to go back in the Summer.

The cathedral makes a lasting impression with its power and size. A majestic Renaissance building. Coming at the end of March before 8AM, the place was empty (practical for the photos, especially with the morning sun in the back) : no tail, no safety check or at the window for the dome.
Concerning the latter:

The Vatican City is always an amazing experience. The works inside St. Peter's Basilica, its size, the view from the top… simply amazing. The line moves fast so don't worry about the crowd you'll find there. They also have a lot of souvenirs, including jewelry… just make sure you have enough money on you, they're pricey to say the least. One interesting fact is that the nuns there speak an impressive amount of languages, so you'll feel like home no matter where you're from. Also, everything there is protected by Swiss Guards (basically their military) … they're not like the queens guards, so admire them from afar.

There is no point in repeating how beautiful the cathedral is, both inside and outside. Listen to the Catholic Mass. Admire the statues! Climb to the roof of the cathedral and all Rome will be in front of you. If you are ready to overpower the road to the main dome-the view is worth it! However, keep in mind that it is not easy to walk on a narrow sloping corridor to the dome. But still, risk it!

The pinnacle of the trip to Rome. Mind-blowing beauty and grandeur. To better enjoy it, expect to spend the whole day (in the Vatican). If possible, go to the top of the basilica — unforgettable! It was only €6 or €8 (the line was long but moving pretty quickly). Mind you, the stairs are not that easy: 551 stairs up and some tight passageways (being in great physical shape I felt every muscle in my body going up, going down and after). There is an elevator but not to the very top, I believe. The views are tremendous, and inside the basilica everything is a masterpiece. Definitely stop by Pieta by Michelangelo, his first work of that kind. Don’t forget to send a postcard from Vatican City (there is a mobile post office parked outside the basilica right on the piazza, and it’s very cheap to send a postcard to anywhere in the world).

The entrance to the basilica is free, you have to queue to enter, so you have to arm yourself with so much patience, but the wait is rewarded by the show, inside is immense! There are no words to describe the emotion that conveys the grandeur of the structure… you feel small small! Inside there is the historical art Museum of the Treasury, a must see, there are objects of considerable workmanship and precious stones gigantic, in theme with the structure of the basilica. The entrance to this museum costs 8 euros. Also there are the dungeons to visit for free.

I had limited Wi-Fi so I did not get the message from the owner on the check-in procedure which was my mistake. Once everything was taken care of, we had a room on the top floor and the room was spectacular. The whole place was colorfully decorated and there was space for a bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen, outdoor patio, and two small cots. Did I mention that we had a small oven and fridge too? I honestly couldn't describe how cute this place was and how clean it is. There is a bus stop ~50ft from the place and there are osterias, pasticerrias, gelaterias, and stores surrounding the place and Vatican city is a 10min walk. My only complaint is that I was only able to stay here for 1 night.

First of all, this is a very popular attraction, I arrived at 9:30 a. M. The hotel is reasonable for the price. Our shower was broken. It was fixed the same day. However the rain shower was replaced by the smallest shower head I ever saw. The hotel and especially the doors produce a lot of noise.

Its a nice and clean hotel. Breakfast is pretty standard but not bad at all. The rooms are big enough, the beds are soft enough and give you a good rest for the night. The location isnt all that great the Vatican view is blocked by appartments but you can see the top. All and all a nice stay with friendly staff, I would recommend a stay here.

Is situated very close to St Peter's basilica, well connected by public transport, the service is good, the rooms very clean and comfortable and the staff is very friendly.

Hotel quite clean and comfortable good quality price.

The hotel is situated just a few minutes from piazza san Pietro. Run by friendly and helpful staff is small but very cute! The rooms are equipped with every comfort, with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, bar, nice bathroom etc …, tastefully decorated and especially recent ones like the rest of the structure that has a pleasant finish. All related at a very affordable price. One last note deserves the terrace at 6 ' floor where the dome is in front of you. Recommended.
