This is a beautiful place to stay and it is near St Peter's Basilica.

Our second stay at Domus Carmelitana. Great value and a wonderful place to stay with easy access to main bus routes and the sights of the city.

Breakfast is good. Suffers from the European aversion to ice and cold things. Refrigerator in room cools things but will not make things cold and cannot freeze water bottles. Air conditioner newer really cools adequately and shuts down between midnight and 5AM. No screens on windows. Bed is fine, bathroom OK. Hotel is in a great location in Rome as you can walk to both St Peters Square (about 15 minutes) and I think the Pantheon is about 20-30 minute walk. Best feature are the roof top gardens with the tables and canopies. After the sun goes down it is a really great place to sit down and talk to friends.

Fantastic Location a few steps from Castel Sant'Angelo and 10 minutes walk from the Metro Ottaviano. Reasonably priced, large rooms, breakfast in the norm. The main problem lies in the furniture of the rooms and the reception… It would all be a little svecchiato, as for example it was done in one of the two breakfast rooms.
All in all I recommend it, especially for the pleasant courtesy and competence of the staff.

Surely the position plays in its favor for the choice, very close to the Vatican: on foot you get really little.
Parking convenient for cars: But it certainly affects the final account — 13 euros a day! But at the very least they are safe enough, without the risk of having to trouble looking for a place in the surrounding area (even if a paid parking lot is nearby).
The staff are very friendly and helpful, active 24h.
It is quite recent as a structure, inaugurated in 2000 for the Jubilee, I gather from a wing of the Carmelite House.
Breakfast really plentiful and varied, but only one flaw: the butter. There's only peanut butter, not the Italian tradition…
Room for handicapped people quite comfortable: as far as we are concerned it would be better a shower, not a shower in the tub… but we adapted smoothly.

Perfect position in the center of Rome. Good service and very fair prices at the hotel bar. A little bit old fashioned bathroom.

Wonderful wonderful! Great staff, Food, very accommodating! View from rooftop spectacular! Easy walking to St. Peter’s and so many chapels and churches … quaint shops. And restaurants! I want to come back!

Excellent hotel, has rooms with single or double beds, Wi-Fi, TV, air conditioning, minibar, shower etc. In the price of the room is included the breakfast and is eventually reservabilela dinner. I spent only one day in the hotel but I didn't have any problem.

Hotel located in the centre of Rome and practically bordering Castel Sant'Angelo. The hotel has 3 floors and a panoramic terrace from which is visible St. Peter and the castle. The rooms are cozy, they all have bathroom, TV, air conditioning, mini bar and are all reached by free Wi-Fi. In General I found myself very well and I recommend it.

Helpful staff with facility in English. Delicious breakfast. My room had a severe lack of electrical outlets. It felt like the infrastructure hasn’t been updated in a long time. I had to unplug a lamp just to charge my phone.

Good location, close to the Castle St Anges and the Vatican St Pierre that we see on the roof terrace. The staff is very nice. The rooms are clean. Our bathroom was large but lacked furniture for our toiletry business. Notice that everything is provided, including disposable Shaver. The neighborhood is quiet.

Rude hotel staff and the two dinners I had the was laughably bad! Probably the worse two meals I've ever had to pay for. Simple and uninteresting. But their breakfast in an acceptable standard. Tiny bathrooms. The lift is too small and the slowest I've ever seen.

Location is wonderful, right in the center of Rome. Rooms are clean and spacious, but the bathrooms are extremely cramped. Has parking, staff are nice.

Good location, specially to catch bus services to central Rome. Friendly staff, ample room space and delicious breakfast. There are 3 supermarket options within a 2-3 block range: Carrefour, Coop and PAM. Pharmacies are also within the same range. The terrace looked nice but it was quite windy and chilly. Maybe if we come back in summer.

I was there last week, during mid-May and it is a GENTLE OASIS in the midst of the chaos of Rome. We loved it. It is refined and the rooms are great. You have a large breakfast and the concierge is very precise and responds. No, sorry no Carmelite friars, but they are on duty 24 hours. Very good location, only point is when you arrive indicate if you want the AC turned ON. It is controlled at main desk. Also, remember to purchase bus tickets at newstand or tobacconist. WE had change but driver could only accept tickets! The interior at DC is cool and comfortable and really relaxing. You can get food and drink all hours. Very nice for the budget too. Will go back.

Simple but ok. Wi-Fi is slow and unstable. The location of the hotel compensated for this.

Only an observations with respect to the direction here is displayed, Domus Carmelitana is located in the number 44, instead of the 4. If you seek on the same street in the growing sense of the numbers of the houses, you will find the correct location of the Domus Carmelitana. Greetings from Mexico.
