Lovely hotel with friendly staff. 5 star on a 3 star budget.

Hadrian's mausoleum, well worth the entrance fee. It originally had trees tethered to it roof with a chariot and horses atop. It has had many uses, which ironically kept it in good shape. Beautiful rooms. Good in age in English. Smashing views over the Tiber and St Peter's.

A beautiful castle with the best view of Rome from its rooftop! You can see the Colosseum and the Vatican from there. I expected the museum portion to be a bit larger, but what you're really paying for with the entry ticket is the chance to explore the castle itself. I enjoyed my time here, despite the thunderstorm going on outside. You definitely do not need to wait in line as the line was short. It took me the better part of ten minutes to get in. Not bad! Be warned that this museum is definitely not wheelchair friendly. I would not even recommended it if you have a difficult time walking, as steps are often uneven, the area is poorly lit, and rain can make the ground slippery. There are also many steep walks.

Outside the castle is beautiful, paired with the pedestrian bridge of St. Angel is one of the must-visit places in Rome. Amazing place full of a rich history. Entry is a reasonable price especially if you're an EU student, and what you get to see for what you pay is incredible. The building is huge and you could easily spend a whole day exploring each room in depth. Just be ready for a long haul visit when you arrive as there aren't many places to pick up refreshments, apart from a very well placed cafe half way through the museums guided route. The roof is especially grand as it offer you an excellent view across all of Rome. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the Ancient city. The place is truly remarkable and if you stop to read the signs it can prove incredibly educational, offering you an insight into the various ages of Rome's history.

Fantastic example of medieval castles. Very well preserved. This castle went through several iterations of use, from emperor's tomb to impregnable fortress, to prison, to army barracks, then Pope's residence, and finally a museum. It was always well maintained as a result. Inside, you will see many examples of armor and weapons from medieval to renaissance era. To top it all off, there is a very cute cafe on top levels and the rooftop allows for unparalleled views of Rome at almost 360 degrees. Highly recommended for a visit.

I enjoyed this place as much as any of the more popular spots. Many excellent photo ops. Nice little cafe on top. A nice, small museum with artifacts. Really enjoyed it top to bottom. Best part was they regulated the number of visitors which meant we had plenty of room to walk and take pics sans photo bombs.

It's an amazing place! A castle with many passages, small ancient staircases, corridors and passageways. Here you can walk all day and not everywhere to go and see everything. Many objects of ancient times, relics and artifacts. Stunning views of Rome from windows and outdoor areas. There's a coffee shop at the top. Tickets cost 15 euros. Be sure to visit on the way to the Vatican.

Loved it, but as in many other attractions are not allowed in all rooms. Entry in June 2018 cost 14 for tourists. For this money you will also get a password from Wi-Fi to download a special program with audio guides. The truth on the Russian or Ukrainian did not find. I listened in English. The tourist who visits Rome must absolutely go there twice: in the morning and then when it is evening. It is the historical residence of the popes of Rome when this city was assaulted. It is a beautiful huge castle and full of secrets. Here the treasures were kept and the most important meetings were held. The rooms are decorated and every dad had made a space dedicated to their receptions but I tend the rooms of the predecessor. It costs more than 10 euro L entrance but it is worth them all. There are also guided tours.

Loved… I didn't think so. Initially I was disappointed because I only saw walls and sparse corridors. But I was thinking about the history of the popes ' escapes and the fascination was still there. Then the heart of the building encloses a treasure which are the internal rooms. Wonderful Panorama from the various parts of the walls. High price. I had never gone for this reason but with the tickets of the national rugby match there was a convention to visit museums for free. Excellent offer.

The long line scared me but the half hour of waiting is flown thanks to the guitar of a very good musician (really wasted on the street! ).

Castel Sant'Angelo also known as Hadrian's Mausoleum is a fortress built along the right bank of the Tiber just a short distance from the Vatican.
Its construction was begun in 125 d. C. On the outskirts of Rome along the Tiber River, at the behest of Emperor Hadrian with the purpose of being used as a mausoleum for his family and was completed in 139 by Antonino Pio.

Castel Sant'Angelo was so much more than I expected. We thought it would be a quick walk through the castle but came to find out it's a multi-layered mausoleum, castle, and papal residence. Be prepared to spend a long time there. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

We recently returned from Italy and Hotel Sant'Angelo is always our home in Roma. Classic, very comfortable, and an absolutely great location near Ponte Cavour, Castel Sant'Angelo, and The Vatican. Many great attractions and cafes are a short walk. Breakfast and dinnertime happy hour are filled with traditional Italian home cooking. Highly recommend!

An interesting site, quite worth a visit. Great views of Rome from up top! Reduced price tickets for EU citizens 18-25, take advantage! Unfortunately most of the exterior spaces were closed due to snow at the time of my visit (50% off ticket price was fair). Nonetheless I was still able to enjoy a view of the Tiber from above and tour the Papal apartment. Fascinating from both an art and history viewpoint. Bundle up for a winter visit! The winds are strong and brisk on the upper levels!

One of the most important places in the history of Rome, the church and Italy. Wonderful for its unique and original architecture, unlike any other castle, fortress or mausoleum. Well worth the entry price for the view alone. One of the best places to view the city that I found. The castle is filled with interesting information and many paintings, statues and artifacts and the free audio guide was quite informative and saved a lot of reading. You can enjoy a drink or meal at the cafe overlooking the city including things like the Tiber river and St Peter's. Assassins creed players will be impressed with how accurately the game was rendered and recognise many areas that you experienced in the game. Beautiful Castle in the center of Rome and a few steps from the Vatican. The structure is well preserved, of Roman times, modified over the centuries by popes and emperors until the present day. The visit includes a first part of the outer perimeter on the very landscaped walls, the second part are the rooms of the castle. The duration of the visit and just over an hour. No strollers or prams is absolutely not possible to move in some places, so they can leave to the wardrobe at the entrance. A fee apart from the ticket you can take a tour of the underground and some rooms otherwise not accessible, but you have to book in advance.

The reception was really friendly and has plenty of time to show us the way to the various attractions included. While we waited we were offered free croissants and fruit. Our room was in another building and the way has been shown us by the doorman, which took also care of our luggage. The room could have some clean but the bathroom was top and looked good. Breakfast and happy hour in the evening (free of charge for all guests! ) with wine and small portions of food were well intentioned but not always that great.

On Booking the room was advertised as discounted from an original price of 525€. Stuff to report. The room when we arrived was freezing because they had left the Windows open … Missing pieces to the toilet seat and the usual key at the bathroom door. Frankly I wouldn't even be 3 stars.

Lovely stay during the whole week my mother and I spent in Rome. Absolutely kind staff, always willing to make our stay there as pleasant as possible. Nice room, yet with no curtains or varied offer of foreign TV channels, and even better breakfast and little dinner offer. Deliciuos Tuscany biological wine as well. Close to the Vatican and 10 minutes away only from Piazza Navona. Worth the stay!

Outdated hotel. Morning buffet leaves to be desired. Very narrow bathroom. Only positive is the location. It is in a short time at most attractions.

Superb hotel. Locate in what I would call the 'heart of all attractions'. Its just what you need, dencent bed good shower (although small) and located perfectly. Prices are a bonus also as it's very competitive priced. Would highly recommend for an adventurous couple or a single traveler with attractions in mind!

Close to everything by foot. A little far from the closest metro stations. Consider using buses too.
