Lovely hotel with always smiling people.

Amazing hotel and the best IMHO giving the price / quality of the rooms, it's location and everything. If I had to come back to Rome in the future, I'll definitely be on this hotel again.

Good clean central hotel. Beds could use a more mattress. Breakfast was simple but good. Have fun.

Really nice hotel and friendly staff. We stayed for 2 nights, the hotel has a really nice style and having breakfast on the roof terrace was a great start to the day! 
Just a stone's throw from the Vatican and the river it's really well placed to explore Roma too. We would certainly go back if we can next time we are in Rome.

I am often traveling alone and finding a place that makes me feel at home is always my fixed nail. I am always looking for a place to come back after my long walks to relax and enjoy the view.
So thank you Hotel dei Consul, because you made me feel at home. Your kindness, your helpfulness and your passion are what sets you apart from others. Maybe I had to say that the room was clean, the mattress was comfortable and the window opened. But I didn't like it. I would have been another one of those boring reviews and they don't say anything. Yes, room 309 would need a fix, but the feeling of joy it had to give me gave me gave me the same. I can only tell you that if you can stay there the terrace on the 4th floor is a quiet place throughout the afternoon. It's the best time because everyone else is enjoying the city.
While you enjoy the view of the dome of St. Peter.

Good location! It was very clean and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately, the room was extremely small.

The hotel is typical Italian style and has a really sweet roof top terrace. Around the hotel are lot of restaurants, supermarkets. Everything what you need is around you. Also the Vatican is really close, just some minutes walking. Also the hotel is clean, and is more than enough for the stay in Rome.

My personal experience was not good they had overbooked and had to stay in a separate building for the first night. Breakfast has lots of choices but hot food could be warmer on the hot plate.

A small but fine hotel just minutes away from the Vatican. The room was clean and adequate for four nights for two of the size.
A star I take off for two points: The breakfast was very focused on the Italian breakfast (sweet pastries). There were only eggs with bacon and two cheeses/sausages as hearty. Second point the price. Despite an offer I found the price for two people with €120 but for the room a bit high.
However, the central location (proximity to the metro) and proximity to the Vatican were a positive highlight. And the rooftop terrace where you can have breakfast or Can drink a glass of wine in the evening. And this with the Basilica of St. Peter between the rooftops of Rome.

Decent hotel located close to the Vatican. Loads of nice restaurants nearby, that makes it a good choice for a couple of days in Rome. Unless you're into bland hotel breakfast (like most other Italian hotels) I would definitely go to one of the nearby breakfast cafés as their selections (and quality) are far superior.

Located in a great place to visit Rome and to go shopping. The staff was very friendly I consider it my home in Rome!

It is a hostel called "Hotel" where I do not know how to achieve the 4 stars. The positive part is the breakfast and the attention as well as friendliness of the workers but our room as well as the sink where the toilet lost water and a small shower is the one that takes the worst part. With a loaded decor and a bed with a hard mattress shafir style is what prevented us from sleeping properly. Thank you for your attention but we will not return.

Great solution if you want to stay near the Vatican without spending too much. Excellent value for money, professional staff, breakfast in the beautiful Mediterranean panoramic terrace. The room clean and tidy. A few hundred meters from the metro station ' Ottaviano ' and the Basilica of St. Peter.

My husband and I loved the stay at Hotel Dei Consoli. You can't get much closer to the Vatican, which is a quiet neighborhood with great eats! It's easy to find anything you need in this location because of the prevalence of pharmacies, proximity to the A line, and it's a two minute walk away from Mercato Trionfale (Rome's biggest market). Our room was more than adequate for our needs. The bathroom was clean, our room was quiet, and the bed was comfy. All you need after a long day exploring Rome! We only paid for breakfast one day, which was great. We simply preferred to grab a coffee on the go and save our appetites for lunch and dinner. The roof garden is gorgeous! All staff were very helpful and spoke English. If my husband and I return to Rome, I think we will stay here again. You just can't beat the location, service, and price.

Great location But the interiors are a bit crumbling.

Central Hotel, unfortunately quite renovieringsbedürftig! The buffet breakfast and the atmosphere in the breakfast room also leaves much to be desired.

It looks more than it really is. Breakfast is scarce and with a dropper.

Firstly, they sent us to another building where they also have rooms so I don't know what I was paying for because I guess there are differences in terms of quality. Bathroom is tiny. I have standard measures and I didn't fit into the shower, too uncomfortable. Building's conditions are really bad plus it looks really unsafe. Beds are good. It was only one plugin to charge the phone. Services is good.

Nice quite place, good views, friendly staff except the fat man one the front desk who wears glasses (he has a disgusting attitude)! Good breakfast service, clean but slightly damaged /dated rooms. The Wi-Fi connection is ok. Worth the price for the location alone (you can walk comfortably to thw vatican in 5/10 mins)

The room was quiet small. Nice location for the breakfast on a terrace on the roof top with a view on San Pietro church. Not an exceptional breakfast. The best thing about the hotel is the position very near the Vaticano and not far from a metro station.

Don't stay here… wallpaper is coming off the walls, stained carpet and furniture, the bar is indefinitely closed, no coffee in the rooms… very out dated. I'm very disappointed since this is my first trip to Rome. The pictures are very deceiving on line. The only good thing is the location, however the entrance into the hotel was not what I expected. The front desk is really a little desk. Also, very noisy.

It does not have any of the services that justifies the 4 stars: The fridge did not work, the TV receives only 3 channels not even national, the staff is unprofessional. In booking made by booking have failed to enter the tourist tax (€40 x 2GG! ), payable then pay at the time of departure.

Guests of the roof for a birthday kids: fantastic view of St Peter, well equipped and spacious premises in via Cola di Rienzo in 2 steps from the Vatican, lived yet elegant atmosphere.

It's located in a very nice area about 5 minutes walking distance to the Vatican. Our room was cozy and clean but pretty small. We just loved the bed, extremely comfortable. Wi-Fi was good, Netflix worked well most of the time.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff. Very good location to go to St Peter's square is if you want to move (the metro entrance is at 5 min) truly recommended.

Wonderful hospitality with an unbelievable view from the terrace. We loved it! Doesn't get much better than that in Rome!

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Dei Consoli in late November, 2011. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is great, being quite near the Vatican, but an easy and beautiful walk to the old city. Our room was well appointed, and very clean. I would recommend, and would be happy to stay there again.

I have recommended this hotel to my relatives visiting Rome and I think I made a good choice: very sophisticated style and luxurious but with a warm family atmosphere.

Good location and good value for money.

Hotel was good, very clean and nice. Be very careful, about making phone calls. I called 1800 number to use my calling card, and was still surprised with a 40 euro phone bill when I checked out. I asked multiple times about this and was told I wouldnt be charged for calling card calls. Anyhow other than that it was good.
