Absolutely horrible experience. We bought the tickets for Carmen last night, we got there at 9 o'clock as it was raining staff said we would have to wait 2.30h to see if they decide to do it or not (which is already completely out of order to have 1000 people getting soaking wet under the rain), afterwards we waited till literally 11.25 which was still raining not as hard as before but it was still raining, so yeah after 2.25h the Arena was completely empty no actors or musicians were seeing around whatsoever. Somehow they made up the simphony in about 5 min and said they started the play at 23.30 which is completely impossible as you need to set up the stage for the musicians etc.
After that went on the morning to the office to get our money back obviously, but as I said before they tell you that the play started at 23.30, one of the staff told me they went on from 23.30 to 03.00 as I asked another girl from the staff she said it went on from 23.30 to 02.00 not even the staff know when it went on. Apart of that absolutely no one there to fix this. All the staff will say "ohhh no I only sell tickets" without giving you the option of a refund or not even a discount in a future. No ond showed up his or her face to sort out this problem to all the people affected. To be honest it was one of the BEST ROBBERIES I HAVE EVER SEEN. Absolutely disgraceful treat. I will not recommend this place to anyone and never be back.

Beautiful despite having taken a lot of water and not to have seen Carmen.

We had the cheap seats high up. Friends recommended them. In the past it must have been possible to choose your seat by yourself, to enjoy your own food and wine. Now you are not allowed to bring in any bottle with more than 500ml content. You're ushered in seats starting at the top. In August the stones have stored up so much heat that you will sweat all night. Perhaps it is better to come in spring with less heat and less people in Verona. Next time I will go for the expensive seats up front.

Pretty awesome. We paid 10E to walk inside but very limited access inside arena but then can walk inside arena which in August is set up with opera seating. We got to watch the opera set being installed with a crane, my partner who is a singer enjoyed testing the acoustics by singing. Acoustics are excellent at stage end. Only 2-3 history panels on the walk which is too minimal. One mentions the water problem from the scavenging of the coliseum stone long ago but not whether or how the drainage problem was fixed.

Nice, eh! The middle of the show: 350€, cancelled halfway without a shred of redemption, or promotion for possible replication in the future are expected. I have given you a chance as an alternative to the Scale, but I would say that we can certainly not see us ever again. Embarrassing from every point of view, organization ridiculous from the beginning of the evening.

Tourist do be aware that this is a music venue with much of the arena closed to the public and the main arena filled with modern seating, electric lights, an orchestra pit and a stage. You can walk around the outer corridor and that's it. That said a lot of renovation and repair to make it a safe music venue. Open air concerts would be good here.

We went to see the "Barber of Seville" during Verona's summer opera fest and it was a lovely production — Very grand and full of pageantry with great voices. However, the experience was ruined by the blatant racism of the docents who take your tickets and check your bag at the gates. Technically, you are not supposed to bring any outside food or drinks into the arena, including water. However, this rule is largely ignored — after all, the opera is held from 8:45 to about 12AM and people often bring in food and buy water bottles during the intermission. I had already been allowed admittance into the gate with my bottle when I realized I was in the wrong section and had to exit and re-enter (and go through security again) at another gate. Naturally, the eco-refillable water bottle I carry with me always was rejected by security at this gate, despite being waived in twice before. I am not asking for special treatment or to be allowed to flout the law. However, I am asking to be treated like everyone else. About 2/3rd of the line in front of me were carrying obviously newly purchased water bottles and the docent didn't even so much as blink. Only when he saw me was it suddenly unacceptable. I don't care what political/migratory issues Italy is facing — it is not an excuse to project your fears and anxieties on anyone who doesn't look like you.

Incredible experience! We bought cheap seats €25 each and brought our own cushions. Wine was €5 a cup. The view was fantastic! Didn't plan on staying for the whole thing as Aida is very long, however, we did stay as it was so fantastic. Highly recommend going to the Arena to see the opera as a must do in Verona. You can bring in water under 500mls and a small snack if needed. I would also recommend mosquito spray.

It's a great place. Be in Verona — be sure to visit.
And in general the city is very pleasant and friendly. Romeo and Juliet's place makes itself felt. Very sweet and soulful.
It's better to walk in sneakers. The streets are paved, so heels will be extremely uncomfortable.

The Arena, as a place also deserves 6 stars. The nightly productions of the opera festival are very impressive. Tickets from 25 euros per gallery. Oddly enough here it is the coolest places, allow you to feel the atmosphere of the event. The stone seats need cushions from the entrance (2-4 euros) or rent inside. I certainly wasn't at the opera in this place, but I saw the scenery. And I got straight to the festival! They started in 1913! As? There are few such devices where you will find them. I've come to the conclusion that Aida is the most popular of all the operas. Aida is the very first opera. I've seen decorations that weigh thousands of pounds. How do they tolerate them? There's a giant crane. There are so many people! And the arena is built so that the sound is almost inaudible outside! Although the room is open! Beautiful, amazing, a sense of humor and both. (probably) 5 stars.

It is a Roman amphitheatre that was built in 30 after J. — C. It's been there for a long time… It can accommodate apparently 30 000 spectators. It mesure152 meters long, has a width of 128 meters and a height of 32 meters. It is very well preserved even today. The cavea is the part where the bleachers are sitting on the spectators. It has a length of about 138 meters and a width of about 110 meters. It's really impressive. The amphitheatre is located in the main square of Verona, the "Piazza Bra". It is open to the public and hosts many events.

It is a very beautiful place with lots of shops and with incredible architecture. You will tell me if you liked by putting me a love!

The arena is certainly the symbol of Verona that must be visited at least once in your life. It has nothing to do with the amphitheatre Flavio Romano but it is still characteristic. Built in Veronesi red bricks in the first century after Christ was used for battles, fights or simply for sporting events. In fact it is located outside the city walls on a field. In fact, this camp served to accommodate the spectators who were coming days before the events persist. Being positioned outside the city comma the walls themselves were closed in the evening to not allow access to grummy characters. As size is not very big but we recommend visiting inside.

Are you passionate about Roman monuments, especially the majestic works like the amphiamphitheatre? The Arena of Verona is a very good example, we can say that it is a miniature coliseum. It is a well-kept structure, thanks to periodical restorations from 600 to today and dominates the whole square, as well as the whole city of Verona, of which it is the symbol. Once you arrive you will be thrilled because to see it live is a spectacle, to see a real Roman opera in front of you takes your breath away. You can also view the inside of the Arena, always if there is a festival, the interior is held really well and you can visit everything, I highly recommend it! If the costs are too high, try to see if your municipality has any cultural initiatives! I went through a joint initiative at profitable mega prices!

Frankly, blah. Charge €10 per adult and €1 per child at the beginning we say why not… Arenas, cachots… Well in fact it's a tourist trap. €21 to see just the stone… The Interior of the arena is filled with plastic chairs and iron fences. We learned later (via Google but nothing indicated in front of the arena) that during the events, the arena is almost closed. This indication could be provided at the entrance, and/or make it cheaper to pay the entry… Very disappointed. No shop for the arena. (They sell t-shirts and magnets like everywhere in Verona)
In short, enjoy the outdoors which is beautiful but do not waste your money to see pebbles.

I entered the Arena for the first time this year (2018) for the concert of Bob Dylan.
Tribune numbered at half height, the stage is seen very well, the artists are seen but not very well. Then Bob had no screens…
The acoustics seemed good and also the organization.

I went to Easter Monday after years that I had the desire to go there. I visited it calmly without any events. The cost of the whole ticket is 10 euros but there are many conventions to have discounts. There are days during the month that the cost is only 1 euro. Beautiful! It's worth getting in and getting the full tour. In the evening it has a beautiful charm.

Loved Verona! Would spend 2 days. Happened to be there late April 2018 and a music festival was happening and the Arena area was filled with great food vendors.

Impressive arena! A must see if you have any interest in Roman architecture. The view from the top is amazing. But large parts are closed to visitors and the modern seating feels out of place in this magnificent building. Still I would love to see a performance here.

Roman Arena. It was severely damaged in an earthquake in XII century. Nevertheless, it is one of the best preserved of these buildings.
It finds here Opera festival in summer. This is a unique experience.

Beautiful. There were not many people so you could visit well. The toilets a little dirty and smelly. The impeccable views, there is not much waiting time in the queue, worth visiting. Stones intact, site to visit before leaving the city.

Roman Coliseum intact, wonderful and majestic. Surrounded by a square where you can do many activities, eat or dine, walk, buy, the nerve center of the city, where many times stand out, from the Roman Empire, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, etc. There's history footprint on every stone, every wall. Events are also held within the Roman Coliseum. Concerts of all kinds and for all audiences, opera, etc… A wonderful place that we should not forget to visit at least once in our lives.

We liked it a lot. My kids liked climbing up to the top of the arena. It was neat to stand where gladiators had once fought. It made us feel connected to history. The bathrooms are disgusting though, so go before you visit.

The view is nice and worth a visit. However, €10 entry is too much, as you don't get to see more than the arena itself. It can be the case that not all areas are accessible due to the stage construction.

One of the most famous, and well-kept, amphitheatres of Italy: I recommend the visit the first Sunday of the month from October to May where the price of the ticket is very low, it costs like a coffee. Once you have climbed the huge steps you can admire and photograph Piazza Brà and all the city center, seen from above are beautiful! The location is well kept and clean, a little caótica when there are concerts but it is normal.

The arena was absolutely gorgeous and right in the center of the city. Very cool place to see! We didn't go in, as we were running out of time and it was 10 Euros a person to enter. We didn't feel the need to see the inside, but if we had a bit more time, we might have gone in.

One of the most beautiful monuments of the city that surely will not go unnoticed to those who will visit the city for the first time. In the spring/summer period many famous singers and groups from all over the world organize in this amphitheatre, the dates of their concerts. Fabulous The theatrical works that are presented during the summer months. My favorite is certainly the Aida by Giuseppe Verdi, in the wonderful set-up of Franco Zeffirelli.

I think if you're in Verona, you have to look at the arena, too. We were there as was built… So really handsome it was not and the 10 euros for the entrance were actually hardly worthwhile. The size is really impressive, so there are 3 stars. From the outside it is still well preserved.

A striking and impressive building which is very well preserved a style to the Colosseum of Rome but in a better state. I was fortunate enough to be able to see the Aida Opera what I went to in the full Verona festival and it is 100% recommendable to visit, the 10 acoustics and sitting watching an opera in a stone seat built in the year 30 makes you feel much better.

How in love with the Roman world I liked it a lot when I visited. Although I have not heard any concert are held in the due to its extraordinary acoustics.

It is a huge amphitheater, with a precious stone and quite well preserved. I recommend not being all the time in the stands or the stage as it has a lot of nooks and stairs accessible from behind that lead to viewpoints that frame in a beautiful way the square.

As well as the Verona Arena being beautiful on the inside, if you climb to the top, you can see a great view of the rest of Verona outside. When we went, it was half-price tickets for everyone! I'd recommend you to go there!

Always worth a visit whatever time of year. Lots of cafes, bars surround the arena. Beautiful shops and places to people watch. Christmas markets in the piazza is always worth a visit as the town is always beautifully decorated! Well worth a visit!

The arena is an amazing historical monument, the second largest in Italy. Entry is €10 and cheaper if you have a valid student card. There are explanations of the history in English and Italian. It's one of many beautiful sights worth seeing in Verona, Italia.

Beautiful place, full of history. It is advisable to take the ceremony card that comes out 18 euros and includes all the tickets of the city… only the sand comes out 10. But nothing more beautiful than enjoying the sand watching a concert.

It's do beautiful and romantic and everything is within walking distance for sightseeing. So much to choose from restaurant wise. Verona is perfect for a two day getaway or two weeks holiday because you can see and do so much in a very short space of time but there is always much more to discover by Staying longer.

The most incredible awe-inspiring place with a fantastic atmosphere before, during and after the performance. We saw an opera here on a beautiful August evening but the general experience of being where people had been for 2000 years, together with the sunset, stole the show for me. The facilities were thankfully much more modern! A definite must-see in Verona and very affordable to watch a performance.

It took about 45 min. Until we got in. It was nice to have seen the arena. No more.

Indispensable visit to Verona.  The arenas of Verona are a Roman amphitheatre. They were built in 30 A. D. — C. And at that time they could accommodate about 30 000 spectators. They are now hosting various shows.

I have never been but in my credit card appears a night for 13 people on a date where I was in another city. They stole me. Be careful with the data you leave on the internet. Booking and this hotel have stolen me.

A very comfortable area to go for a walk, if you are looking for restaurants, it is better to go to the nearby streets to avoid the "tourist price"

When visiting Verona, I can only recommend visiting the arena. Very impressive. Really great how well the entire city is preserved.

Unfortunately there is no more to see than in the pictures. However, the view from above over the city is very nice.

Spectacular amphitheatre. The second largest after the Coliseum. As a negative point the price of the entrance and that the interior is modernized as they are held shows (at least they warn you with posters).

We attended an opera with ice skating! Yes Yes, skating show and open air opera during the summer. Beautiful! I cried so much that was beautiful, good and touching! A performance in honor of the late Maestro Luciano Pavarotti on 2 gigantic screens was offered to us. Even if he is no longer in our world, he has stolen the spotlight. What to say about this site, is one of the most beautiful sites in the world ever, definitely to visit at least once in life. Also because it is part of a beautiful city. I remember those who did not know it in the world that is the city of Juliet and Romeo. Which is a city where you eat and drink very well. And where there are so many things to see.

I was in the arena for a concert.
We start from the fact that it is a historical property so we can not have all the comforts that we find now (dangerous stairways and toilets that leave to be desired) but it is a magical place almost intimate for the capacity of spectators (15.000) and if the scenography Lo It seems to "embrace" the singer.
Perfect acoustics and exceptional lights. I recommend renting, at the cost of 1 euro that will be given to charity, the pillow as the seats are iron.

A wonderful place, as we are accustomed to the beautiful Italy. If you are lucky enough to see and hear an opera there the Bliss is complete. Just to think that these stones have so many centuries of life, you feel transported. Impossible place to not go to visit. Super recommended. —

A square always very magical.
Unfortunately this Arena is lived "full"… but maybe it should be considered that perhaps it is a priceless heritage. Here perhaps a gap of thoughts and controversy. Little but sure, it's a World heritage site. Maybe we're passing too much, in allowing ourselves to use it X artistic events. The two most logical solutions but above all that offer a gesture of respect towards that moment/historical good x me are two: either it is restored well, maybe approving a plan of improvement important, like the addition of a "roof", or it would be nice to create a replica Faithful (perhaps modernized), just outside the city walls. The Arena can also make you believe you are "the Olympus of the musicians, actors and dancers", but in reality it is something to have to deal with the velvet gloves. And enjoy an eternal "pension" if there is no intention to rejuvenate it.

I had the opportunity to see an opera there on July 18, we bought the tickets on the go, €28 per person in henhouse, it is worth the visual and sound show. It's so beautiful it doesn't look real. Symbolic place of Verona. Wonderful theatre that welcomes the Festival of opera Arena. A great little old school hotel. Clean rooms and friendly staff. I would stay here again. And the rooms were very affordable. Located in the downtown area. A great location. Only downside is limited parking. So you most likely will have to park on the street behind the hotel. I didn't have any problems. And the area seemed very safe. I really LOVED Verona. Such a charming city.

A bit ruff but the staff was very nice. Close to the famous Arena and citycenter. The breakfast was not so ok, eat up town instead.

Good Location, Nice family but the stay is limited from — ok to just good. The A/C during summer is controlled to a set limit of sweating vs. Dying of heat. With just a bit of care, this place could be far better.

The location is great, very friendly and welcoming at the arena di verona in just 5 minutes on foot.

Remodeled and it knows from the Interior of the room especially the bathroom which was very nice and accommodated us beautifully.
The only flaw of our room so I can define it, a piece of wall where I think ke before there was a fresco and I think they're trying to keep it so for historical value, which I think looks nn has been like the rest of the room recently.
Overall I really enjoyed it and would do it again right now.
