Very nice place, good location, excellent service, small room, very nice breakfast and lobby.

Very nice hotel, clean and very polite staff.

Just had a 5 night break and despite all the unavoidable disruption of floods we enjoyed our stay. With great choice at breakfast especially and very friendly staff namely Evangeline. Definitely worth buying the 72 hour water bus pass for hopping on and off and over to other islands. Also very easy to get directly back to the airport using the Alilaguna boat.

Fabulous location so near to St Marks Square and easy to walk everywhere. Old and traditional as appropriate for Venice! Our room overlooked a canal and we enjoyed hearing the gondoliers chatting. Continental buffet style breakfast perfectly adequate. Great hotel, great atmosphere and great price! Hope to come back some day.

The hotel & staff were very nice & helpful. The bar was very over priced & the bar tender was the rudest most obnoxious person I ever met. Even before the bar is opened he is harassing us.

Just stayed at this fantastic hotel for three days on my first visit to this beautiful city with my fiancé. The staff are so friendly and helpful and always have a smile for you. Nothing seems too much for them if you need help. Our room overlooked the gondola’s and although you would think this would be noisy it wasn’t. The atmosphere was lovely and we enjoyed watching them daily.
The hotel is very close to the square and close to shops yet not so close you feel it would be hard to sleep. You shut the window and can’t hear a thing unless someone is shouting very loud (which didn’t happen)
We recommend the private water taxi to the airport too. This will pick you up right from the hotel when you book it. It’s a lovely way to end your holiday. We will definitely be returning and staying here again.

A just so everybody knows what kind of business this is my mother booked a room like 9 months ahead of time. She remembered staying there years ago and had fond memories of in wanted to revisit it. 3 months before the time she supposed to stay there she suddenly passed away which I have proof of with the death certificate. Every single place that she booked or gave a money to all refunded ALL THE MONEY BACK except for this place. This is the only place that did not do it and not only that they're trying to save we don't show up there they're going to try and charge us more money. I told them I understand it takes time and money to do things but you cannot possibly tell me that you cannot rebook the room with 3 months notice ahead of time. I could even understand a simple inconvenience fee for the monies that they had to pay somebody to spend their time on this matter. We officially told them that we're not coming and My mother has passed away. Is there one person reading this right now that thinks not going to double book this place and it makes me sick to my stomach that there's people like this in the world. One day I'll definitely be going back to Italy but it definitely won't be at this place so if anybody cares about things of this nature I just thought you should know that these Business Conducts its business like this.

Great spot, by the St Marco piazza! Room is avg in size but that is small given the fact that it’s a very old and historic building! Breakfast is pretty good! Having your drink in the balcony, while watching the gondolas is a must! If booked in advance prices can be reasonable.

The Hotel is great located and easy to find when you arrive from the airport. The room was ok, nothing special. The bathroom was big. The breakfast and the view from the breakfast room are great, and there’s also some table outside fronting the canal to sit for breakfast, or drink later on. Friendly staff.

It was a very clean hotel. Rooms in Venetian style and atmosphere of yesterdays. Impeccable service. A very pleasant and romantic stay!

A hotel of the Old School. Polite and helpful staff were willing and able to help out with details of the city and recommendations for good places to eat. (I care not whether they were receiving a little something from the restaurants as the result was a damn fine meal at exactly the price shown on the menu. ) Be aware, however, that the complimentary boat ride to Munaro to visit the glassworks will be followed very swiftly by a trip through the _very_ expensive and frankly heavily overpriced factory shop. Keep your coin for the tiny shops more local to the hotel selling the same goods at one fifth the price. The hotel room was comfortable, if small, and offered the advertised view of the canal. Wifi was adequate. But there was no air conditioning, not usually a problem in April I suspect… All in all the hotel was good value, in an excellent location, and I emphasise once more the helpfulness of the staff.

We had taken room with a view of the Canal and no regrets as it is definitely worth seeing every day the Ballet of the gondoliers and every evening the gondolas rows wonderfully well.

Hotel 4 without air conditioning with hot radiators while it is more than 20 degrees outside and a beautiful blue sky! (We may leave windows and shutters closed to try to keep the cool inside the housekeepers open wide) We were told at the front desk: no air conditioning in April… It's good to know! So sweltering heat in the canal side rooms. Bedding to change, mattress completely distorted … In addition the canal view rooms are right in front of the hard rock café where there is noise up to no time; and the gondoliers pamper their gondolas from 6am, shouting; and as it was sweltering heat we were forced to sleep with the window open… no need to wake up in the morning. With all the kilometers traveled in Venice for 4 days we would have liked to have been able to rest properly between two trips and not have back pain in the morning waking up in addition to having sore feet!

Well against the opinions I read around here, I was with my partner at this hotel and I think we got the only perfect room.
We had a huge bathtub, a king size bed, desk, chairs, other table, cupboards, minibar… the truth is that it was a big room and we paid a normal double room, the only thing that the views were not to the street, were to a sort of Courtyard.
Yes, we had to stay in the building next door, which turned out a little weird, but hey, with that piece of room, I didn't complain.

It is located on the marina of the gondolas, obviously the hotel is Antuguo, excellent attention, good food, and it is very nice to take a gondola ride from the same hotel.

Poor rooms For a hotel so well rated, a lot of unpleasant details. (Defective bulbs, stained carpet, half-broken water flush…) He doesn't deserve an eight! I have come several times to Venice in hotels with fewer stars and yet much more refined. On the other hand, it must be acknowledged that the breakfast is plentiful and good.

Hotel located a few meters from the Plaza San Marcos, not a minute to arrive, cleanliness and rooms very correct and with some old touch, great breakfasts, buffet with appetizing dishes and espresso or cappuccino machine if you want, and with a view of the canal where there is a gondola stop, you can take something sitting in the balconcillo of the hotel observing the movement of the gondolas and its occupants, the service very friendly and without any problem of language, close to the bridge of Sighs the duc palace Al and crossing alleys in 15 minutes is in Rialto, great.

Nice place great staff and wonderful breakfast although in a 4 star should not serve lyophilized coffee and cappuccinos, little attention you have details of the rooms and shower cubicle too small, location from fear practically in St. Mark's Square!

Morning I think in-charge of front desk has some problem with Asian people. He never smiled while dealing with check in or check out. He is more fit to be a police man rather dealing with hoteling business. He was a bad taste in mouth during a reasonable satisfied stay. He should be informed Asian or European both pay the same amount for hotels.

Amazing hotel. Perfect location and great staff. They helped me plan the perfect Surprise Anniversary for my wife and I.

This 2 stars only for location. It’s very comfortable you can get from the hotel easy to the remarkable places. Be aware that they will make you to pay some kind of city tax on the top you paid for room. There is one young receptionist he needs to learn how to treat customers! Unfortunately I didn’t see his name. To be honest for that amount of money we paid it’s not worth it and also u will not have coffee at the room. Everything is over priced.

Hotel in excellent location, nice rooms, very nice staff, only recommended.

The location was excellent. The room and bathroom were larger than I expected, with two different windows that opened to overlook the Orseolo basin. The included buffet breakfast was better than I expected. Also, Wifi worked really well from our room (on level 1A). The bed was a bit hard for me, and the shower setup in the bath could be mounted better: it was center-mounted, and pivoting to a comfortable angle caused it to spray the bath wall, run off the tub, and leak all over the bath floor. But all in all, I'd stay here again in a hot second.

Excellent location Correct staff and services. Some unsuited double rooms of a 4 * hotel. No room, no table, no chair to sit on, suitcases on the floor. Very expensive for the price.

This hotel was in an excellent location. Walking distance to San Marco Square and restaurants/cafes. My husband and I stayed here with an open mind as it is one of the oldest hotels in Venice. And the pictures on the website advertised very beautiful rooms that went with its old era. However, we were very disappointed. The front desk staff was not friendly or welcoming. The room was extremely small, when opening the door to the room you almost hit the bed with door. The air conditioner is merely a blower fan that circulates the warm air in the room. The shower was so small you hardly fit in it without your shoulders hitting the doors. For the age of the hotel it looked clean and well maintained. The buffet breakfast was good and does get crowded if you go after 8am. Overall, I believe it's over priced (the most expensive of the three hotels we stayed in during our travels in Italy) and would not stay here again.

The staff here are very rude and when I asked to change my room they insisted I pay extra after having paid an extra 70 dollars a night already. They did not approve my refund request before even staying an hour here so I was required to stay in their hostile environment. The front desk only felt more threatening after all of this occurred. The location is great though, very central and perfect to walk around. Way overpriced for what you get here.

Our room is spacious, clean & nice with some beautiful artifacts. The bathroom has been remodeled and is very beautiful & functional for Italy. No AC cause it's to early in the season, days are mid 20's C so room is a bit uncomfortable till evening. Breakfast buffet is very nice & the food is hot!

4 star Hotel in a great location but perhaps it would be more indicated it had 3 stars.
Dated structure and that maybe deserves some maintenance, non-functioning electrical outlets, showers with problems.
The bed at the time of booking was asked for marriage but at the end were two mattresses united. Towel and towels not really soft and in some cases torn probably due to the large turnout of the bridge of the dead.
During the booking had been specified the arrival between 11am and noon but upon arrival we had to wait 2 hours for the room.
Good breakfast but the local in case of big turnout does not have the space for people.
For the location it is perfect because it is located behind St. Mark's Square overlooking the Orseolo basin where Hard Rock Cafe is located.
In conclusion, good but not yummy.

I stayed at the hotel with my 'now' fiancé. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. They do free trips to Murano from the hotel which they arrange. This hotel will be in my memory for a long time. I proposed on the balcony of our room on the top floor which had a beautiful view of the canal. The hotel is perfectly placed too with St Marks square just a 30 second walk away. If you're looking for a romantic get away and looking to pop the question… the balcony of room 1459 is highly recommended.

The hotel has a great location for tourists, very close to the Piazza San Marcos and not too far from the main museums — as long as you don't get lost on Venice's maze of canals. The service was good, the breakfast was reasonable, and although the size of the bedroom I got was not too small, the bathroom certainly was. The decoration of the room is very old, and I'm not talking just about its style but also about the timeworn furniture.

Very close to the plaza de san marcos and fact is rare due to the return so long that it must take to get to the room.

The rooms are tiny. We had a balcony but it is so small that it would be better for a window.
The aisles are always crowded laundry. The bad smell is amazing and ubiquitous. And elevators make noises that scary ride.

Tiny rooms, minimal hot water pressure, no free Wi-Fi as advertised. I have had rooms on a cruise ship that were bigger!
