My husband and I stayed here for our joint Birthday and instantly fell in love with the historic building, the amazing homemade breakfast & caring staff. They helped us make the most of the culture, shopping and food spots Venice is known for. All this from a real locals POV made our trip. Thanks.

We stayed here on our honeymoon in 2015, and we still talk about the amazing experience we had at this hotel. Amazing and helpful staff, beautiful rooms, quiet location yet also in a convenient central location to everything! We can’t wait to go back!

5+ stars. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The location has stunning views of the grand canal and Rialto bridge.
Our room was spacious and well appointed with everything we needed to feel at home. You can enjoy drinks on the terrace and experience the picturesque view. The staff is warm and friendly and gave excellent recommendations for dinner and private tour of the Basilica, Doges Palace and the charming city of Venice. From the moment you check-in you feel part of the family being greeted by name and welcoming conversation. You can arrange for a water taxi from the train station to/from the hotel when arriving/departing and it will drop you right at the hotel's private landing.

Beautiful location with stunning views. Matteo, Alex, Oliver, Rosalbo, Gigi, Igor, Tomas and David are an outstanding team who are entirely focused on ensuring every guest is beautifully looked after like a member of their family. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so magical and the wedding of my son and daughter in law on the beautiful terrace was perfect in every way. The room was lovely and the breakfast with the home baking from Barbara each day was something we looked forward to every morning. We made some wonderful family memories at Al Ponte Antico and would recommend a stay to all. Thank you Matteo and the rest of the Al Ponte Antico family xxx.

Fantastic hotel — it has the charm of an old building with the amenities of a new one. The location is spectacular — on the grand canal — and the service extraordinary. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

The Hotel is one of the Top 3 Hotels I have stayed in ever. The Service is superior, all staff know our names from the time of arrival. The room was beautiful, the entire Suite was large and the Bathroom very modern. Breakfast for a Hotel with only 9 rooms was exquisite. Pastries, cereals, great coffee, juices, hot food and personally prepared eggs, inlets and PANCAKES! We can’t wait to return to Venice just to stay here again.

This is such a beautiful boutique hotel that sits directly on the Grand Canal. I cannot say enough wonderful things about everyone here. So helpful and kind, Alex, Gigi, Igor, David — all amazing! And Barbara makes amazing breakfasts — try her ricotta cake ❤️ We could have just stayed on the terrace all day, every day! We would never stay elsewhere in Venice. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will never forget you all!

What an incredible experience. The hotel is beautiful, the location is perfect, but the true magnificence of this hotel is in the people. I have never felt so welcomed in all of my travel, which is saying something. Wow.

Just returned from our second visit to this wonderful hotel celebrating our 30 year wedding anniversary. All the staff know your name and make every minute a wonderful experience. They are always on hand if you need advice on restaurants etc or just local history but not intrusive. They are more like our friends. I would highly recommend staying here if you can (not the cheapest but definitely the best). We will hopefully return in the future. Anne & Brian, Manchester, England.

Service is superb! The view from the terrace to the Rialto Bridge is unbeatable. Everyone is attentive and willing to help/give recommendations! The breakfast by the canal is a memory I will always cherish.

Absolutely stunning hotel; but more importantly Matteo and the team are genuinely first class. Friendly, helpful, fun and knowledgeable — they couldn’t do enough. We’ll be back again next year for Matteo’s pancakes and omelette for breakfast and, cocktails on the terrace as the sun drops over the beautiful calm of the Grand Canal.

This is our 4th visit to this amazing personal hotel. The attention to detail is 100% staff all very lovely and welcoming. Iv never stayed anywhere so perfect before and we will be back again x.

We just stayed at the Al Ponte Antico Sept 1 to 4, 2018. The location and staff are incredible, and it exceeded all the positive reviews I read to pick the Al Ponte. The breakfast that was included was the best fresh “made to order” omelet I have had. I would highly recommend this hotel and will probably make a trip back just to stay here and relive the experience. Fran and family from Texas.

Opulent… spectacular… amazing… one of a kind… I could go on and on. This is a most fantastic hotel. We stayed here about a week ago and are still blown away by our stay. It was the highlight of a 2 week trip to Europe. Matteo, the owner, and his staff are unparalleled in service. Every team member calls you by your first name, beginning the moment you arrive by water taxi. The entire team is dedicated to making your stay there the best stay anywhere, any time. If you have the opportunity, stay at this hotel. You will remember it forever.

Cannot praise this hotel enough. The whole ambience is all about relaxation. We had the junior suite with private terrace and I almost didn't want to leave the room. It's a very small hotel, only 9 rooms, and the level of service is second to none. The breakfast spread is unbelievable and the owner, Matteo, is on hand cooking eggs any way you like them. We loved the way the staff address all residents by their first name (don't know how they remember everyone) and nothing is too much trouble. Special mentions for Oliver (very knowledgeable), Thomas (night reception and barman extraordinaire) and Rosealba who looked after our every need at breakfast.

Wow from the moment you step off the water taxi the staff, rooms and hotel take you breath away. All the team learn your name and can not help you more. The homemade cakes and coffee at breakfast make you feel you need to return to bed to get over the quantity and sugary goodness. Rooms are spacious clean and with that Venetian feel. Set near the Rialto bridge all the main sights are within walking distance.

Definitely the absolute best hotel we’ve ever stayed in all our travels! If you are able to stay at Hotel Al Ponte Antico while in Venice, you must! My husband and I were definitely wowed by impeccable five star service by each and every staff member, including the hotel’s owner. We were personally greeted by the owner just as soon as we stepped off our water taxi and given a tour of the property. The owner and staff greeted us by name at each and every encounter and were …always there to fulfill any request or need we had. We felt safe, relaxed and very pampered. The hotel’s location next to the Rialto bridge is perfect. We didn’t see another hotel with a terrace overlooking the Grand Canal like the one at Hotel Al Ponte Antico. It’s available to guests 24 hours a day. We enjoyed breakfast and also afternoon and evening cocktails there as we watched the world go by. We were able to walk to see all of the tourist attractions from our hotel without taking a boat: St. Mark’s Square, The Bridge of Sighs, Frari Church, Doge’s Palace, etc. It’s also located in a neighborhood with very good shopping, restaurants, and bars. Our room was very spacious and every last detail was luxurious including the linens, deluxe sized toiletries, his and hers robes with slippers, cool air conditioning, cable TV, fast Wi-Fi, and a steaming hot shower with raindrop shower head.

Incredible hotel. I can’t believe it’s only 4-star. Never stayed in a hotel that is as caring, passionate and friendly as this in my life. The team are experts at customer service and its second to none in Venice.

We had the most wonderful stay at Al Ponte Antico right after Christmas. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the people are exceptionally kind, accommodating and helpful. They could not have been nicer, our stay was fabulous.

This place is the best hotel I've ever stayed at my entire life! Mateo (the owner) and the entire staff knew our entire parties names and were extreemly attentive to our every need. My only regret is not spending more time here. I hope I get the chance to go back some day.

Best service of any hotel I have visited, I think it would be near impossible to improve upon. Matteo, the owner, is in the trenches cooking you eggs for breakfast (which are amazing) and clearly leads by example so that his staff deliver a world class standard of service for his guests. Rooms and terrace are also beautiful, but when you're being treated this well and everyone knows your name, it doesn't really matter because you feel at home.

We had a wonderful stay here and Mateo was a world class host. The highlight was breakfast every morning custom prepared by the owner Mateo himself. All the staff went above and beyond and remembered our names during our 3 day stay. The hotel interior is very beautiful and elegant and overlooking the Grand Canal. It was our best stay during our Italian tour.

Com Booked this hotel on there and they had the cheapest rates around… My God, just look at the inside and the view outside. Your heart would have to be made of Rialto marble not to feel something. And the service is excellent.

Romantic, great service second to none! In the wake of Al Ponte Antico hotel for 3 nights, we just came back from Venice — this is the best hotel I have experienced-not just rooms and the environment — but the men of this place, thank you Matteo and his team. We received a warm welcome and immediately feel at home — the staff as we recommend the tour to Venice is best — they have to their passion for this beautiful city is infected people — I know we'll come again — winter is a good time to visit, now simply means planning a return trip!

The hotel is very good! Hotel boss and all the staff were very friendly and very willing to help. Hotel location is perfect, much better than I expected. Hotel is located very close to the Rialto Bridge.

Had a delightful two night stay at the Al Ponte Antico in October, which in my opinion was a great time to visit Venice. My ground floor suite looked out onto the Grand Canal, with the Rialto Bridge off to the left. Watching the gondolas pass by whilst listening to the water lapping at the wall just below my window was quite magical. The staff here couldn't be more friendly and welcoming, and it being a small hotel I felt like I'd got to know them all by the end of my stay, including the owner who was very much present to run the place hands on (I think he cooked breakfast one morning! ). Being a converted palazzo it had the feeling of visiting a friend who happened to be a Venetian noble rather than staying in a bland hotel. Loved the interior of my room, with Persian rugs, an impressive stone column in the corner, and silk lined walls. It somehow managed to feel opulent and homely at the same time — again, the sense of being a guest in the house of an aristocratic friend. If I had to pick any tiny nits I'd say the bathroom was not really to my taste, but who cares? Why would I want to spend any more time than necessary in there when the rest of the hotel — and Venice itself of course — was so enchanting. Other things I really liked were the breakfast terrace, overlooking the Rialto Bridge, and the fact the hotel had its own private jetty — I really wish in hindsight I'd either arrived or departed by water taxi to make use of that.

We are here now, by far one of the best I've stayed at and have stayed at the best world wide. Charming, outstanding staff, owner onsite and can and will do anything for you. You've missed something if you don't stay here.

Amazing service. Best I have ever experienced. Makes Four Seasons seem like Super 8. The Owner/front desk agent Mateo knew the names of our entire party as we arrived somehow. We woke to the smell of fresh pasteries came down stairs and he made us eggs from his grandmas farm. Then we sipped a really good cappucino while enjoying one of the best possible views in Venice. Centrally located yet set back off a quiet alley.

My wife and I have just returned after a three night stay at this lovely hotel. The staff cannot do enough for you and their service ethic far surpasses that I have experienced in many of the so called 5 star hotels. I was dismayed to read a disappointing review of the hotel as the reviewer had been charged for the room as they were unable to make the journey due to volcanic ash — didn't they read the terms of condiditons of their booking? Everything for us was just pefect, we had teh junior suite with windows that open directly on to the grand canal, you can virtually touch some of the boats as they go past. The view from the terrace is amazing. But to finish with it is also so much about Matteo and all the staff that makes this such a great expereince as it is about the view.
