Excellent I recommend all very kind family environment.

My fifth visit to this hotel which is a mark of how much it is an integral part of a visit to Venice. It is brilliantly placed for easy access to everything you need to do and see. Great and knowledgeable staff are part of it’s value.

Loved this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, nice breakfast, great garden to sit and relax. This hotel was picked by a tour company, but I would definitely stay there again.

Such a beautiful hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is one of the best we've seen since we got to Europe over a week ago. The room is very comfortable and VERY clean. Bathroom is a little tricky to get into but very spacious with shower big enough for 3. Very convenient location to train, water bus, and port.

The place is amazing. A small garden you can chill in with a drink. The staff has been wonderful and the rooms are really romantic. My only small issue is the pillows are extremely flat. I just folded it in half and it was fine. Definitely check this place out if you're in Venice.

Hotel Abbazia is a former monastery and that gives it a unique charm. The staff is super helpful and very friendly. Unlike most hotels you get a physical key for your room, not a card. About the room I stayed in. It is spacious with a desk, couch, secondary sitting area, queen bed, and two large closets. Unlike it's monastery aesthetic in common spaces, the room was nicely modern. Other information: The compliments breakfast begins at 7:30 and has a nice did. There is no elevator, so unless you're guaranteed a ground floor room I would pass. The hotel is located closely to train platform, but it is a 30 minute walk to San Marco square.

The hotel was being treated for bed bugs while we were there and the chemical smell was overwhelming. The staff was dismissive when we complained. I would ask for an assurance that the hotel is bed bug free before booking. Caveat emptor. In response to the management's comments: Our contact through the agency whom we booked our accommodations through went by to inspect the room when we told her the troubles we were having. She also agreed that there was a strong chemical odor in that section of the hotel and specifically in the room in which we were booked. Rather than argue the point, your focus should be on the satisfaction of the guest and not your pointless need to be right and get in the last word. It is true that we were moved to another section of the hotel (after several hours of discussion and hours on the phone with our travel agent) where we stayed for the duration of our visit to Venice. The problem we had, and the reason we felt the need to post an ACCURATE review, was because we spent nearly the entire first day trying to arrange alternate accommodations, rather than just being able to enjoy Venice. Had the room been suitable, we would have had no problem.

My wife and I spent the last three days of our first trip to Italy in Venice, staying at Hotel Abbazia about one month ago. It is a historic hotel with delightful atmosphere and good service and amenities. Breakfasts were good. The pastries were wonderful. But the absolute best was the customer service. I left a money belt with cash and a credit card on the bed when we checked out. We were already in the Marco Polo Airport when I realized the mistake. When I called, the hotel knew of the errant money belt. It was securely kept until the conscientious staff, especially Beatrice, could get it shipped home. I was very impressed. Kudos for a job well done.

Amazing hotel, great attention, half block from Sta. Lucia train station!

I stayed 3 nights in the hotel and it was all perfect. Arrive at 10, 30hrs in the hope of leaving only the suitcase, but to my surprise I was invited to breakfast while waiting to give me the keys to the 11hrs.
The room (standard DUI) was classic but reformed, just like the bathroom. The breakfast was correct, and the location of the hotel very quiet despite being very well connected to the mainland and the rest of the island.
The staff had excellent treatment throughout the stay. Excellent value for money.

Ideal location near the train station. Very friendly reception. Quiet and elegant rooms with a view of the former monastery garden. Nice free breakfast. Pleasant living room in the refectory. Very well heated in winter. Air conditioning in summer.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Hotel Abbazia: First it is at 1 minute from the station Venezia Santa Lucia and from the pier "Ferrovie" of the ferries, then it is in an interesting junction point but then it takes 20 minutes to get to P. Zza San Marco, Even less to get to the Rialto bridge and strolling strolling you will see Venice, alleyways, bridges, shops, …, in short, you'll not be "far from the center" and just arrived in Venice and you just have to leave you really have 1 minute of walking with Suitcases. The staff are really nice and in way, they allowed us to keep suitcases there also on the last day, after check-out, so as to move on to pick them up in the afternoon before leaving and it is really a great thing because it is a service in the most offered free of charge that Otherwise we would have to pay and associated with the extreme proximity to the station is a great thing. The corridors and stairways are very much from "Opatija" real, having wanted to keep small stretches of what was in the past but the rooms are very cozy and pleasant from the same size. I loved the bathroom, soaps and towels included, and really nice shower. The bed is OK, I would also say comfortable but the pillows are bad. Useful the mini fridge with already drinks inside, to be paid only if consumed but with prices reported and reasonable.

Cozy rooms, bathroom facilities includes bidet, and luxurious tub with jets. Staff is warm and friendly. Nice garden as well. Decent location right near water taxis and transport stations.

This is the second time we have stayed at Hotel Abbazia and we do not even bother looking anywhere else. The location could not be more perfect. The staff is excellent. Our flight was two hours ahead of schedule and Alvise not only held our luggage while our room was readied, but he offered us an excellent complimentary breakfast while we shook off our jet lag. We will return. Thank you, Alvise, for your excellent hospitality.

Beautiful courtyard garden in the middle of a busy city. Very convenient to the Venezia Santa Lucia train station and the water taxis. Very helpful and welcoming staff.

This hotel is very conveniently located. The hotel staff is super friendly, helpful and funny. When we arrived we were disappointed by our room (if was the least updated of any in our group). I asked for a room switch and the staff gave us a new room and moved all of our items into it while we were sightseeing. It was HOT during our visit to Venice and the rooms stayed very cool. Staying in this hotel gives you a very authentic Italian experience.

Very good hotel, very close to S. Lucia train station, a few steps from the Grand Canal, very friendly and kind staff, delicious buffet breakfast, quiet rooms at night. Clean rooms.

Very convenient to trains and transportation. All stops nearby. A great courtyard where you can relax as well as a great central area, comfortable, like a club smoking room without the smoke. Helpful staff got us tickets to the opera and gave helpful pointers when asked. Good breakfast with lots of options. Not overly expensive. Relaxed atmosphere, just far enough off the grand canal to be quiet.

This is a small hotel converted from a monastery. Very medieval atmosphere and the room for four at the attic is really very spacious and yet cosy. Breakfast variety is acceptable for the price. Price was very much affordable. Would definitely want to stay there again.

The room wasn't as good as in the pictures but still sizeable and nice. The breakfast was a typical continental but again, nice. The location of the hotel is great, just off of a busy street with easy access to all Venice has to offer! The staff were helpful and friendly and the experience was very good but sadly, for me, not worth the premium price overall.

Unique building with a decent location in Venice. Each room has unique features and can therefore vary in important ways, notably the bathrooms. Breakfast is very basic as there is no full kitchen.

My husband and I stayed at the Abbazia in June 2014 and it was excellent. The staff couldn't be more pleasant or helpful. The Porter seemed to appear out of nowhere to take care of our cases, much appreciated. Our room was very well situated and even though we would have preferred a bathroom with a shower we loved the room. We thought the layout of the breakfast room and the food could be organised a little better, it doesn't flow very well. Having said that, it hasn't stopped us booking another stay there in June this year. We are very excited to be visiting Venice again.

Hotel Abbazia ticks all the boxes of a hotel in Venice. First off, it offers a competitive rate for a hotel located in the lagoon itself. Also, its in the old Jewish quarter which makes it within easy reach once arriving by bus from the airport (i. E. 10 min walk). The rooms are clean and have high ceilings, while a decent breakfast will get you started for the day. Don't come here for luxury — but you can expect good value nonetheless. The finishing touch which differentiates this hotel from others in a cramped Venice is the Hotel's courtyard.

I LOVED that it is so close to the stazione. I LOVED the courteous service. I LOVED the smiling faces. I LOVED the decor and had a great experience. We had very little time to spend in Venice and did not make it on time for the Murano tour. They went out of their way to arrange it for us and made it all possible. They made our experience of Venice very worthwhile.

Formerly an abbey of Discalced Carmalite Friars (! ) — this lends the building some interesting features, including a sort of pulpit in the bar / lounge, and it also has a very pleasant courtyard garden. Our room was pleasant enough, albeit perhaps a bit worn around the edges. Bathroom was a bit basic — it didn't really have a proper standing shower, and there was some kind of buzzing noise we couldn't turn off which kept us awake for a while the first night. Those issues aside though, it was characterful place to stay, very conveniently located for the station, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

Absolutely to recommend — are now already for some years again and again here! Price / performance is super!

Just it was nice in this Hotel. It is always very special to be remembered. My wife and I are always a little on the search for the "Special", not quite so Everyday, when we go on holiday. This year we went once again to the romantic Venice and chose the Hotel Abbazia, a former Abbey housed. The rooms are spacious and very clean, the style of the hotel is very Italian, playful and beautiful. The garden courtyard is another Highlight, and guests can enjoy Breakfast and dinner. The prices are quite justified.

Visiting Venice was our first stop on a celebratory retirement holiday. My husband and I chose the Hotel Abbazia online based on its proximity to the train station and previous guests' comments. From the moment we walked in the door to the day we said farewell to the ever-so-pleasant front desk staff, we were completely satisfied with our stay. The ground-floor room was very nicely decorated; the bathroom, well-appointed; the bed, comfortable; and all was very clean. We enjoyed the breakfast room and what was on offer and also the hours of its operation. The garden was lovely (if only it weren't the repository for smokers. But we appreciated the rest of the hotel being a no smoking zone). Staff can make or break a good location. In the case of this hotel, the excellent staff made a good thing even better.
