Can't recommend this hotel enough, been a few times now and each time is like returning home. From the time of booking to our departure, everything is so efficient. Our room was beautiful, clean, spacious and extremely comfortable beds. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to have dinner as we had already eaten, but the food we saw looked amazing. A special mention for Laura, who we booked with, and Mary in the breakfast room and Lauren on receiption, thank you for your personal touch, making us feel like more than just another guest. Can't wait to return, everything about this hotel is first class.

We Stayed here at the wkd and it was fantastic our room overlooked the lake and the secenery was stunning we were welcomed by friendly staff who went above and beyond to make our stay special, many thanks to all the friendly professional staff we loved our visit and will definitely be back 💕

I went to Jackson’s for food on Sunday evening and the food was absolutely to die for, if that wasn’t good enough, the service was amazing and the staff were really friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend Jackson’s as a great place to dine and stay ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just home after a couple of nights there. Lovely clean and tidy hotel. The staff are fantastic, nothing too much bother for them. The food was great and the kids loved the pool. Great atmosphere about the place, will definitely be back!

We stayed for the Santa Experience and it was brilliant. The hotel staff were so friendly and really made of the children. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Just home from a lovely Christmas stay with the 2 kids. It was very well organised and the kids loved it. All staff where brilliant but esp Denise. They kids couldn't wait to see her in the morning to tell her what their naughty elves got up to. We had such a great time and will definitely be back.

Absolutely unbelievable hotel couldn’t rate it anymore if I tried. We booked our wedding a week before our date. The hotel and staff went over and above to provide a top quality service for us in only one week. Nothing was too much for Philip the manager of Jackson’s along with the fantastic wedding co ordinators! The meal was 10/10 the nicest I’ve ever had and the staff where so friendly and helpful! I honestly cannot recommend Jackson’s enough and I will be holding all my family events there from here on in! ❤️❤️

12/09/2020 we had our wedding reception in jacksons hotel. With restrictions in place I can honestly say our guests felt so safe and nothing made our day feel different than a ordinary wedding day. Staff and carina were amazing, we only met Carina a few days before wedding and had a few phone calls but she made us relaxed and helped us enjoy our day in every way. Our wedding meal was outstanding, chef catered for all our meals and we even got extra. Delicious. Our stay was amazing. Thanks to Jacksons hotel and all your fantastic staff. Mr and mrs barr xo.

Have been coming here for years love this hotel. Was there last week with the hubby and kids and was fab.
Was also there this weekend with the girls for 50th birthday
On both occasions staff are very welcoming and are doing fab with the current restrictions in place.

Considering the new regulations regarding social distancing the staff and mgmt of Jacksons Hotel have done a fabulous job. Will be back.

I stayed here for 3 nights with with husband and 3 kids the staff were great and very helpful, the food was lovely, the beds were very comfy too, as it was my birthday while we were there the staff sang me to me and had happy birthday on my chocolate fudge cake. We would definitely return.

Stayed last night at this hotel, from the minute we checked in, we were made feel very welcome. A very courteous gentleman checked us in.
From the bar staff to the waitress at breakfast 10/10, The food was amazing, bar food was like what you'd get in a restaurant, This was our 1st time at this hotel but hopefully it won't be our last.

We stayed over 16th and 17th of February and from checking in with Mark on reception until we left we had a lovely time. All your staff are so friendly and helpful. Great food. Our room was lovely overlooking the river after getting an upgrade for my birthday. Will definitely be back.

Went to the Jacksons hotel 13th & 14th Dec for the Santa experience with the family from the time we got there till we left the boys had a great time, staff in hotel were very accommodating, the Santa experience from start to finish was magical, would highly recommend it.

We had our wedding in the beautiful Finn Suite on the 19th July 2019. I would highly recommend Jacksons Hotel to future brides and grooms. The venue is just beautiful and the service and professionalism is really first class.
We had the pleasure of dealing with Rhonda who made the wedding planning process a pleasure. The Gallen family hotel management and staff were welcoming on each of our visits to the hotel including the big day itself. On our wedding day Antoinette Rhonda and team ensured everything ran like clockwork. The professionalism and service blew us and our guests away. They catered for a large number of guests and every meal was cooked to perfection. We could not recommend Jacksons Hotel enough. We would like to thank all the team at Jacksons for everything over the busiest 18 months of our lives We had the best day and a sincere thanks to all.

We had our wedding at Jackson's on Saturday and we couldn't reccomend them highly enough nothing was a bother anytime we got in contact Rhonda always made sure she was always available to discuss any queries we had. It was the most amazing day we could have wished for and we cannot thank her and all the staff at Jackson's enough. All of our guests commented on how big and spacious all ther rooms were and how good a time they all had. Even on check out the operations Manager Robert couldn't do enough for us. Nothing but good things to say about this hotel may it be for your wedding or just a wee getaway for a night or 2.

Lovely hotel that made my son's stay perfect by presenting him with a certificate for the brill picture he drew them. The Garden is brill and so secure, it gave my kids a chance to play and me and my hubby a chance to have a nice drink and relax. The pool was such a bonus for us and so handy, it was the perfect temp and the staff even provided us with inflatables for our younger child. Thank you Jackson's!

we had dinner in the bar and food was delicious. Went during the Easter holidays and they had hid Easter eggs in the room for the kids and left a note to ask them to find them. Would recommend for stay and dinner. Would definitely go back again. Great value for money.

Lovely place. Great location. We got bar food upon our arrival and it was lovely and plenty ful. Music that evening was great and easy to listen to. Beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Buffet breakfast with a fantastic with a great selection. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We'll be back.

Very clean. Rooms lovely. Everything you need. However, if your mobility is not good, ask for a room near reception. We were in the newer part, and had to take two lifts and walk a good distance.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The rooms, restaurant and bars are superb. Staff are cheerful and helpful and greet you with a smile and craic. Highly recommended. Continued success.

Had a fantastic two days at Jacksons Hotel, Ballybofey. Great value two day deal for two adults and two children. Very comfortable and clean room. Food was very good and the busy bar had a great atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. The kids club was enjoyed by our grandchildren who were entertained by two friendly girls. Club was from 6pm to 9pm and was a welcome break for us adults! They also enjoyed the swimming pool. Will definitely return to Jacksons for a family break.

Visited main bar on Monday and Tuesday night. Traditional Irish acts playing both nights. Excellent atmosphere and obviously very popular as few seats to be had. Great place to chill and enjoy the craic!

Just back from a 3 night family break and would highly recommend it. My daughters loved the kids club and swimming pool. The staff were so friendly and welcoming but the waiter Aaron was amazing he helped us in anyway he could. Food was delicious every evening could not fault it on anything, so well done to all the staff for making our break away so enjoyable.

Stayed here on Saturday the 7th of July, we booked this as we had been at a wedding a year ago at the hotel and decided to give it a go as a night away, hugely disappointed wouldn't cover it, when we arrived our room was right beside an extracter fan from the kitchen, we contacted reception soon as we learnt this and were told that the fan would be off at 10 o'clock at night, this wasn't the case it ran continually all night long, the rooms carpet didn't even fit the room as it was showing the floor boards all the way round the room, very disappointing experience, we mentioned all of the above when checking out the following morning, was told that someone would contact us from management, still waiting for that phone call! Again disappointing all round from a hotel that has a huge reputation.

I had my wedding in the Finn Suite, and both my husband and I were absolutely delighted with how gorgeous the venue was on the day. Our guests loved it espically our Australian guests who were just blown away by the beauty, elegance and detail. I honestly felt like a princess, it was just a fairytale. From the drinks reception to the table settings to the stairs case decor… beautiful. And the food was just amazing… and second helpings which few could manage as the meal was huge! Rhonda, Paul and all the staff were fantastic and just a delight to deal with and no matter the request nothing was too hard or a problem. I just wish we could do it again. I'd recommend Jacksons as a wedding venue everytime, espically if you're looking for class, elegance and beauty.

Not the best experience initial room had a very strong air freshener scent. The staff quickly accommodated a room change which was good. The second room was a little smaller but much better than the first. We also had dinner which wasn't very good either… Best described as airplane food. As a quick stop over not a bad place.

Absolute dive. Nothing like the pictures. So outdated and filthy. The steam room looked like Chernobyl. Old faded plastic seats, rust on walls, filthy changing rooms, dirty cultery. Weird smell in room, dusty, paper thin walls, heard next door room having sex all morning. Asked for iron, got something that didn't even have steam coming from it. Breakfast was mediocre, Irish defence forces food is better and that's saying something. Dirty seats too. The owner of the premises needs to have hard look at themselves. 240 euro for a stay. Avoid!

My wife and I would just like to say a big thank you to all the staff at jacksons. We had our wedding here on may 26th and it was an unbelieveable experience, nothing was to difficult for the staff, everything went according to plan and exceeded all our expectations. From the greeting on our arrival, to the food which was amazing, not one guest was disappointed. I Would also like to thank rhonda for all her help in the build up to our big day whom kept us right, I would also like to thank Paul who attended to our every needs and also the needs of my autistic brother nothing was to difficult for him and he was treated like a king he absolutely loved it. To anyone thinking of booking jacksons for their big day I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

A fairly basic standard considering it's a hotel — overall was bit disappointed. Room for improvement. Staff polite but could do with further training to improve overall standards. Meal was ok hot and served fairly quickly. Specials menu pretty basic.

Poor disability parking. Excellent staff. Room was cold radiator not working and food not good always over cooked and tasteless.

Loved the overall ambience of the hotel. It was good to have a bath in the room. The staff were very nice and made us feel very welcome.

Love jacksons. Everything from the warm friendly welcome when you arrive to the littlest attention to detail to make your stay special. My hubby and I like to go at least ince a year and I went back with my daughter and 3 grandaughters for the santa weekend experience. It was perfect from start to finish. Even the fact that they moved about their elf on the shelf for each morning. The girls were so excited that the elves on the shelves had followed us to the hotel. They lived looking for them in the mornings to see where they hed moved to. The staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much bother. Hoping to go back with a few friends in april as a surprise for my husbands 50th Birthday. Can highly recommend this hotel. 5 star experience all round. Thanks jacksons.

Fabulous hotel food and staff second to none. New Years Eve entertainment is a must. I would recommend for family's.

Excellent well-managed hotel in the twin towns of Ballybofey&Stranorlar. Dining facilities overlook scenic forest background with garden and river Finn. Leisure facilities include swimming pool etc and friendly staff. Bar food available. Service excellent and cost reasonable.

What makes this beautifull hotel special is the wonderfull warm staff. Pity the jacquizzi wasn't working… Would love to return!

The décor mixes everything together without a clear structure. The whole house probably never completely refurbished, but always only inexpensive, piece-wise modernized. Unfortunately, this is also noticeable in the rooms.
The floor creaks in every movement, which the neighbors are allowed to hear. Under the door there is a gap so wide that at night the light shines from the hallway and you can hear everything from the corridor (and the other way around). The bathing facilities are sometimes unpleasantly outdated.
The quality of the furnishing parts varies and other rooms may also be better.
Positive is that the rooms are very large and not sterile. The In-house bar is quite fine.
The food is better than in other Irish hotels where I was. The staff are friendly but at times understaffed.
The lot does not offer all the services that are available on the guest information (e. G. Chargers).

Stayed in large rooms, very clean with good leisure facilities. Breakfast was self service with large portions however dinner was a let down with smaller portions and found a sharp piece of plastic in my chowder starter. Thankfully the staff dealt with the incident professionally. The dining area was in close proximity to the noisy bar which disturbed the dining experience. Beds were cosy however the room was very warm but the staff kindly gave us a fan to cool down our room. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Jacksons hotel and would come back again.

We had dinner in a beautiful ballroom. The pub was right next to the hotel and the rooms were big and luxury (very comfortable beds). Nice surroundings. We had a very good stay here.

Stayed here for 4 nights a lovely hotel. Rooms were spotless leisure centre was clean and well managed the staff were very friendly and helpful. Kids loved every minute. Would stay again a very pleasant experience. P. S. The food was exceptional.

Sunday lunch was chaos. Had to wait ages before accosting someone to ask for a table. Service was slow, apathetic and patchy. Despite dining room being only half occupied. The redeeming factor was the food, it was very good. Generous portions and very tasty. Vegetables were over cooked and green beans may have been frozen. Not acceptable in a country of agricultural greatness. A good manager and front of house organisation could. Make this hotel dining experience so much better.

One of the best ways to wake up to Love it would come back if I could.

Very lovely and family friendly hotel. It maybe needs some face lift (old wing) but as long as it's clean and tidy I was happy, and all my family enjoyed the stay. The restaurant food was delicious and well presented. Staff was very polite and professional. Ower all we had great experience.

Called into Jacksons for a quick dinner and I was not disappointed. Service was snappy, food quality was excellent and overall I was extremely happy. Had the seafood chowder to start and the salmon as a main, both made with locally sourced seafood, and with a taste to match!

Been staying here for a long time & glad to see a new local owner. Lot of work done + still lots to do, but good grub, craic & lovely staff — yes we'll probably keep coming back. It's 'easy' & it feels 'a wee bit like home.

A lot of renovation work going on but the place is very run down. Too many cracked tiles, marks on walls and scuffed carpets for my liking. Being asked to pay an additional charge for a Friday night stay was a bit much while the hotel is in such poor condition. The food in the make shift bar was very poor. The breakfast was very good though. I couldn't recommend here as it wasn't relaxing or enjoyable. Room 233 badly needs work.

I found by chance this hotel, in addition to being great and with really good prices, has a beautiful pub inside with live music and good food, the breakfast offers everything and more. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Very quiet for football match. Expecting bit more of an atmosphere for Ireland match.

Very average hotel. Very dated rooms with backs of wardrobes falling off and other fixtures barely workable. Rooms were very small and food was meh. Apparently Wi-Fi was broken the whole time we stayed there which we were never told about until we asked. Very nice view though and breakfast was lovely. Staff pleasant but not enough staff. 1 girl in the evening checking in out and answering phones.

Enjoyable. We were a party of 35, the company was good. The staff almost 100% helpful and pleasant. We mostly felt the hotel was understaffed. Breakfast was very good but we never saw a menu till the last day so most assumed what was laid out on the hot and cold buffet was all that was available but kippers and smoked haddock were available to order. The staff wearing jackets (presumably senior staff) were not pleasant in manner — brusque to be polite. Dinner was 3 choices but the choices were not great in variation, Every night we had grey mashed potato. The deserts were always dairy. The first night had chocolate fudge cake on the menu but after a long wait chocolate brownie was served without any explanation or apology and more important without asking if it was wanted. Furnishings are very attractive and suited to the building as is the decor. In the bar some places have springs coming through the leather. You have to be careful not to catch clothes or skin. The entertainment was excellent apart from the Glasgow couple (guests) who deafened us when allowed to take a turn at the microphone. The whole place is very dark, I, and others had difficulty reading. The water was luke warm at best. We were warm enough without heating but several of the party didn't have heating and were cold. The hairdryer in our room did not work. I reported this on the first morning. Reception were very sympathetic but nothing was done.

Stayed here one night two nights ago. Really pleasant atmosphere. Food lovely and made to feel very welcome. Would stay again.

Stayed at Jacksons Hotel in a group of four recently and had a great stay. We were met by Mrs Margaret Jackson at 8.45 pm on a Sunday night on a bank holiday weekend and got a most inviting welcome. We were very hungry as we had travelled a long journey and Margaret told us we could have any food we wanted in any of the hotels restaurants. I found Margaret very gracious and pleasant and was willing to pull out all the stops to make us feel welcome. We found all the staff we encountered very warm and professional and helpful. I would have no problem recommending Jacksons to anybody. The rooms were lovely and the whole place was spotlessly clean. We got all we wanted of a breakfast the following morning.

Jacksons Hotel is the creme de le creme of Hotels, The Staff are so pleasant the food is exceptional and to top it all off the Spa and leisure centre is exquisite, The rooms are very clean and Spaceous the best night sleep is in store for anyone staying in this hotel can not recommend this hotel enough.

Possibly the worst place that I ever had the misfortune of staying in. After three moves, finally got a room that was not smelling of stale smoke. The bedroom decor would get full marks from Bet Lynch (Coronation St. ) circa 1982. We visited the bar for some food and were met by a grumpy barman who wasn't too happy that we had a sandwich order. This was 7pm on a Friday evening. The breakfast was a joke and local produce more that likely sourced from the local Lidl. The processed food section, not their great fresh fruit/veg. We left a computer lead after us and after about 14 phone calls and being told that it was posted, it never arrived. We were willing to pay postage. To boot, it was expensive. I have stayed in better youth hostels in third world countries.

Staff very friendly, food very good, pleasant surroundings. However, both nights we stayed there they had wedding celebrations going on to the early hours and nothing seemed to be done to stop it. 5.30am was a bit much to be honest! Would definitely recommend the place, but would get them to confirm there were no weddings going on during my visit.
