I had the pleasure of attending a BBQ at the park hotel dungarvan on July 20th. To say I was impressed is an understatement. From start to finish the food, the staff and the overall service was fantastic. They could not do enough for us. Staff and management were excellent. Highly recommend this hotel.

Called here for breakfast. Great selection of cereals, nuts and berries etc. Homemade Brown bread was to die for. Full Irish was on the cold side but eggs were perfect. Would eat there again.

This is a solid, dependable hotel. The friendly, attentive staff and excellent service compensate for the somewhat dated rooms. It's comfortable, clean and centrally-located.

Wi-Fi was a bit dodgy, but I think that's because there was a lot of people at the conference using it. Worked fine in the lobby but not in the room, at breakfast or in the conference room. Hotel itself was nice enough. Room was big and clean, food was good, and the bar was excellent.

Nice hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Very clean. The hotel is quite poorly designed though and takes a long time to get around. Breakfast was average, nothing special. The bar doesn't give cash back which is ridiculous as the nearest atm is miles away. The Wi-Fi is quite slow. The food in the bar is also average, standard pub grub which isn't well done. Staff are all very friendly though and very helpful. I would stay again but disappointed as it could be much better with a few changes.

Clean, comfortable bed, nice staff, swimming pool, gym, sauna all perfect.

I had a really lovely stay in the Park Hotel. I was an awkward guest — I had requested a particular room when booking but then changed my mind when I arrived and requested a move to the front of hotel. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and I was really happy with my room. Lovely views overlooking the water, a good desk to work at, powerful shower, comfortable bed and the room was nice and warm. Great Wi-Fi. All the staff I encountered were great — reception, bar, gym and accommodation. I found the hotel really lovely and don't know why comments have been made about the decor. The lobby area is great and the bar has characture. I did visit the gym but it was very cold so I didn't stay for long. The pool area was nice and the water was reasonably warm. Would have liked to have seen a hot jacuzzi but you can't have everything ;) They have a jacuzzi but it's the same temp as the swimming pool. Hotel is in a good location and is a 5 minute walk from the centre of town. Overall a really lovely stay, thanks for everything.

A very handy and welcoming hotel. 10 minutes walk from centre of Dungarvan. Parking is always easy there. Staff friendly.

Top hotel. Cater for ever need. Pleasant staff. For help front dest service. Modern day hotel. No expensives spared maintaining the premises.

Great hotel and facilities. Staff are excellent. Breakfast high standard. Rooms spacious. Great leisure facilitiea. Excellent location to the new Dungarvan green way.

Nice hotel, rooms are ok if in some cases a little dated. Parts of the hotel could do with a little TLC. Breakfast is good with a wide range of hot and cold food. The leisure facilities are fine with a good range of machines and never to busy that you have to wait to long to use any part.

Just back from 1 night in the Park Hotel. We booked 1 night bed & breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea for €138 which we thought was very reasonable. We arrived early, around 1.30pm as we thought we'd have afternoon tea before check in but the receptionist told us to go have lunch and come back in an hour. We headed into town for lunch as the bar was very busy with no seating available. We came back at 3pm and checked in. Receptionist told us about eating times for breakfast/dinner and said we didn't need to book the bar if we were eating there. We came back to reception an hour later to book the restaurant for dinner to be told that the restaurant wasn't open that evening! We headed into the bar which was very busy and chaotic. My husband queued at the bar for menus and then again to order but was told the barman only takes drinks orders, we'd have to catch (very busy) waiting staff to order food. The food in the bar was ok. Breakfast in the restaurant the next morning was nice until my husband found a long hair in his! Check out is 12pm so we thought we'd have a nap after breakfast as sleep was our whole reason for having a night away (first night away from our baby). Unfortunately that was ruined by the housekeeping staff coming in to clean the room at 11.05 am. At that point we got our stuff packed and went to check out. The receptionist was going to charge us €178 until I showed her our confirmation email.

I haven't been here in a good few years. I thought it looked a bit in need of a revamp in the dining room. Breakfast was poor, scrambled eggs were in the bainmarie too long and were turning grey and the bacon was cremated. I asked for gluten free toast which I got eventually but the scrambled eggs were sitting on top of regular toast so that wasn't too clever.

My experience was good, the beds were very comfortable. But the room wasn't very warm. The breakfast was only OK, I thought the staff could spare another pot of coffee. Overall was OK.

We stayed here over Halloween break and had a lovely time. We arrived just before the 3pm check-in time and we quickly got parked as for their was ample parking. We walked into the big reception and the lovely receptionist got us sorted in less than 5 minutes. After quickly getting checked in we went up to our room, one thing I didn’t particularly like was the fact that their were multiple doors to go through. We got to our family room and their were 2 double beds and an additional camp bed as there was 5 of us. Our room was in the new part of the building but it was still a bit out dated. We all unpacked although there was very little clothing space. The bathroom was nice but again it was outdated. There were quite a lot of sockets in the room so lots of places to charge phones. We went down to the bar and waited ages for our food but when it did come it was lovely food. The bar was big but it was very stuffy. After our food we sat in the reception as there was lots of seating there. When we were finished our drinks we went back to the room and had a comfortable sleep. At breakfast there was a great buffet and the hot food was delicious. I would recommend going down for breakfast early as we had to queue for half an hour. After breakfast we sat in the lounge area which was away from reception. It had lots of comfortable couches and coffee tables. Later on we went to the pool. There were two open plan changing areas. The pool was good.

Beautiful family meal last nite. Great food and great service would highly recommend it.

Had to give them an average as its such a mixed review. I went in to the hotel and it was very nice in the reception but my room was awful. Peeling damp wallpaper, a dirty toilet, everything outdated and the heating wasn't on most of the time. Even the tap in the bathroom was hanging half off and the shower temperature was nearly impossible to cool down. I would give the room about 1 star. On the other hand the bar food was class. Enjoyed it so much! Don't think I've had many meals as good so hats of to the chef his chowder was great and the steak sandwich was perfectly done. Also the waitress was great — so friendly and was very professional. I think her name was Niamh. 5 star experience with the food! So basically go there for food but not a room.

Good hotel just outside Dungarvan town centre. Room was fine, bathroom okay. The breakfast was very good, the hot food was cooked to order, not left under heat. There was chilled glasses of yoghurt, to which you could add nuts and berries. We paid 130 BB on a Sat night in August. Guinness was 4.60 in the bar, and soft drinks were overpriced, as is common, at 2.95 for a 220 ml bottle.

Friendly staff even when being very busy and lots of handy amenities near the premises. Great family hotel.

Enjoyed a lovely three day break in Parks Hotel. The staff were friendly the food was great. The bar is great and we had entertainment two of the nights. The room are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is lovely and you have a wide choice of what to eat. It location is excellent and its five minutes to the town square. All in all and great place to stay. Enjoy.

Wonderful staff. Very comfortable communal areas — reception, lounge, garden. Welcomes children. Very clean. Could do with a facelift. Mattress sagged in the middle.

Lovely houses to stay in with a family. Great location for walking into the town. Friendly staff, good hotel food and service. Pool ideal for small children or a quick dip.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly helpful staff, leisure centre and pool a bit dated but bar and rooms were cosy and we had a great family stay. 3 star hotel but service was great and on a par with their sister hotels, the Newpark in Kilkenny & Imperial in Cork. 2 playgrounds in short walking distance for kids & 2 minute walk into Dungarvan.

Great Hotel in Dungarvan. Not far from any of the beaches, and right in the town. Beautiful view across the river, and room is clean. Food staff are top notch, which is a good thing in such a food rich town. Leisure center is also nice.

Twenty years old this year and looking a bit dated.
