I recently attended an AGM with the Irish Traveller Movement at this hotel… The staff were very welcoming and the food was delicious.

Attended my cousins wedding which was set up just beautiful food was amazing I’m a picky eater and I enjoyed everything on the menu outstanding food staff were amazing I definitely be back thank you shamrock lodge hotel staff for a wonderful stay Pam Ashbourne.

I stayed in the Shamrock Lodge with a toddler and the hotel was excellent. Staff were friendly, the food is lovely and the room was huge. We”ve returned since for Sunday dinner and it was delicious. There’s a public playground three mins walk from the hotel’s front door, perfectly suitable for toddlers and there is a shop close by if you’ve forgot anything.

We recently celebrated my daughters confirmation in the Shamrock Lodge. The staff were so helpful and friendly as for the food, it was delicious. The staff definitely made my daughter feel special on her day. Would definitely recommend the Shamrock Lodge.

Newcastle Ladies Club enjoyed a fabulous banquet dinner 14th March. It was such a great day after long 2 years staying at home due to pandemic. Staff were amazing music with Brendan Shine & his band & Olivia Douglas they were super entertainers. Great day.

Best hotel in Athlone Town. We have had many a celebration in the lodge and are always looked after 100 %. Service and food cannot be equalled.

A lovely family run hotel with a truly welcoming atmosphere and the nicest staff, so helpful and considerate. Nicely located in athlone, an easy walk to the town centre yet just far enough away to be away from noise. Excellent food, lovely quiet rooms with all mod cons. Can't wait to go back.

Well I have not long got here. I'm staying for 3 nights with my wife. And from the moment we stepped in doors we new it would be nice, the girl on reception was very professional and welcoming, the premises are very clean and bedrooms is big massive bed great shower, and is set in lovely gardens, and I'm sure I will have more positive things to say by the time I leave on Wednesday,

Absolutely stunning hotel. Found it browsing through booking. Com and my daughter just fell in love with it. So decided to treat me and her to a couple nights away. Were supposed to be going camping for the same length of time but decided not to bother. Glad we didn't now. I myself had got second chance at life back in November so as my daughter is so precious to me and being a single parent I decided to take the plunge and book here. Staff are very friendly and helpful, food is fabulous. Hotel is really clean, rooms clean, and well everything is awesome. So definitely going to keep this hotel on my books. So will definitely be back here next year, camping is now a thing of the past. Thanks to all staff who have served me from arrival today.

Got married 40 years ago today, lots of family occasions celebrated in Shamrock Lodge since. Brilliant food and staff.

We had our wedding here on 1/2/2020. A Simply amazing day from start to finish. Brilliant service, food and venue. The staff were superb. From the organisation with Alan and Paddy, to the wonderful staff who looked after us all day, nothing was too much trouble. Everyone loved it. We literally had the best day of our lives and that was down to a brilliant, professional service that The Shamrock Lodge provides, even the smallest request was no trouble. Thank you so much.

Just back from an over night stay for my work christmas party. It was literally the best night. Everything from my fab room, gorgeous food, brilliant live music, friendly staff all was brilliant. Thank you so much for a brilliant stay only wish I had an extra night!

Just had a fab weekend here with 7 women. We had 2 of the 2 bed suites, which were huge and spotlessly clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Sarah, thanks so much for looking after us. Food is also gorgeous and it is not too far to walk to town. Will definitely be back, thanks.

Just to name a few pros and a few cons during our stay at the shamrock lodge hotel Athlone. The few pros where the staff at reception being super friendly and helpful, same goes for the housekeeping staff, very nice people and tended to out every need. Nice location and easy to get to local attractions which is one of it's perks. But these main cons I think need addressing, firstly was the older female employee working in the bar at lunch time on Tuesday 22nd of this month, my partner was ordering our food, she scuffled over to our table uninterested, never wrote the order down and grunted at us as she walked away, my partner had to shout after her that she would like tea with her lunch as she never asked our drinks order, it was all very rude and I personally think an employee like this should not work in hospitality. Along with that we did not get our full order, the tea I had to shout for was completely forgotten about, but when asked to pay for it, the forgotten tea was Included in the price, which I addressed to the Barman an older gentleman, who did not seem very impressed with me and the fact I never told them I did not get tea, personally that is not my problem, if it is on the receipt it Should have been on my table. When told the price I handed the barman a 20 euro note for him to snatch it out of my hand, all while talking to another customer he just threw my change on the counter, left me picking coins up everywhere.

Thank you so much once again for a wonderful night tonight for my mams 80th bday. The food and service was 2nd to none. Staff do an amazing job. Highly recommended.

The shamrock lodge were amazing on our wedding day and even the days/ months leading up to it. At any point I had questions they met with us and were happy to help us with anything. So well run and the staff are friendly and welcoming. We are so happy we had our wedding here, they made it a perfect day and put so much hard work into it. Excellent service in restaurant, from the staff. The menu was balanced and delicious, the choices were made from the whole menu. The standard and presentation were superb, master chef thank you for making our 50 anniversary memorable. Mike and Mary.

Recently celebrated my best friends wedding and Alan and the team couldn’t have done any more for us on the day. They made a special day that bit more special. Great location for exploring the Midlands Shannon region. I found the staff very friendly and willing to make our family's vist as good as possible. The rooms are bright and very tastefully designed. The food was very tasty and honest and served prompt and the portions were more than adequate. The bar was very nice with a good atmosphere with live music at the weekend. Overall we would as a family be definitely be back for the value as much as the friendly staff and good food.

A really welcoming hotel situated just a few minutes from the town. Beautiful gardens surround the hotel. Ample parking. The staff are really efficient and the owner and his family are wonderful hosts. If ever you're in Athlone, call in, you won't be disappointed.

Requested wheelchair accessible room. Given a 2 bedroom family suite beside the main building. It was dirty, stains every where on carpet and chairs, it wasn't even hoovered as crisps on ground. My biggest concern was my 1 year old could open the front door as you couldn't lock it and was able to run out onto the car park. Massive health and safety concern. The girls on reception where lovely and tired everything to try and get us to stay however, no other rooms available, so refunded me. So had to drive 2.5 hours back home again. Will never stay there again.

Huge thank you to Alan and team for all their help in the lead up to, and on, our wedding day. Fantastic family run country house style hotel with beautifully landscaped gardens which make for stunning photography. Have had all celebrations in The Shamrock Lodge for more years than I an remember. All my family and extended family love the place, owner and polite helpful, friendly staff. I'd recommend it to anyone who visits Athlone which is in the centre of Ireland.

Was here for a wedding bar was nice and pleasant to sit in drink was good and for a hotel cheap enough breakfast was ok usual selection of cereals and hot food I did ask for a poached egg which seemed to come out with grease on it strange as it boiled rooms where spacious only downside so air conditioning it was extremely hot weather and the no a. C. In the rooms was not ideal.

Another great night with Ashbourne Lions Club Coast2Coast. Always made to feel so very welcome.

Massive place can serve 100 people or more at the same time but still fodd is tasty and place nice. Might be better in summer time of course.

I was at the hotel for a Christening reception to have food and drinks. The service was of high quality and, despite having a set menu for the event, they were happy to make something different for me on request as I am a vegan. Friendly, professional staff like they have here makes such a big difference!

Myself and my beautiful new wife Michelle had our wedding reception here on December 30th 2017. We were treated like royalty for the whole weekend. The staff and food were excellent all of our guests said it was the best food they had ever eating at a wedding and that the staff were so friendly and accomodating.

We just had our wedding day in the shamrock Lodge Hotel on New Years Eve and it was absolutely amazing! The staff were so nice and accommodating. Each and every team member was so friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful and so much effort was put in to making our day so special. The food was amazing. Nothing was too big of a request and the day went so smoothly thanks to all of the helpful staff. I would recommend the lodge to anyone getting married. This is a family run hotel, father and. Son who are very hands on, will Go out of there way to make you welcome make you feel home from home and the Staff are warm and friendly and go out of there way to help. Even though there is no swimming pool or spa it's still a lovely hotel to stay in.

Got married here on Friday and everything was perfect from the moment we booked. They made sure everything went smoothly for it and really helped to make our special day perfect. The dining room was lovely, everyone spent the evening complementing the delicious food and the beds were super comfy. What more can I say but thank you for an unbelievable experience.

I renewed my wedding vows 5 years ago and had my reception at The Shamrock Lodge… very close family… the staff were amazing… this year… 8th September 2017. My daughter Sarah got married to her partner Louise… they had their ceremony and reception at the hotel… it was just unbelievable from start to finish. Thank you to Warren and Alan their wedding planners… thank you so much… I would also like to mention Rory, Debbie and Lisa on reception… we had their hearts broke. But always accommadated us… I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who asks me about it… if you want a day to remember and not worry about anything this is the place… thank you very much to everyone (especially Warren & Alan) for making my daughters wedding so memorable. Food fabulous and plentiful. Rooms amazing… overall experience 10 out of 10… thank you to all involved… we will be back… all our guest could not praise the hotel enough…

A wonderful family run hotel with great staff, great food and a perfect location with large private gardens.

Locations not bad as its in town but outside of the visited areas. Rooms were nicely done up but the TV was ancient and the mattress had badly lost its shape. Staff are friendly though and it had a decent selection of good quality food for breakfast. All in all it was an OK hotel and would still consider returning as was still overall happy enough.

Had my wedding at the shamrock lodge on the 19th May. Would just like to say a massive thanks to all the staff at the hotel for making our day ever so special. Special mention to Warren, Alan and Mary ye really could not have done any more for us. Having our wedding here just made our day. Everything was just perfect. Ye made sure that our day went so smooth. The detail that was provided was second to none. Even the minor detail was just as important as the big things. There really was no stone left unturned. The meal we had was just fantastic. I heard no one complaining and believe me I had some fussy ppl at the wedding. Having my wedding at this hotel, everybody went way above what we expected to make sure that we were treated like royalty. This is a family run hotel and they make you feel like just like the family. Anybody thinking of having their wedding in this hotel, trust me but ye won't be disappointed. The only fault I could have was that my wedding day went just so quick and that was because we didn't have to worry about a thing. (So it's not a fault). Even my guests were saying how good the service at this hotel. From the day we booked our wedding here we never had to worry about a thing. Everything was looked after from start to finish. It just left us with nothing to worry about. Having our wedding here was just a little piece of heaven. Any one looking to have their wedding here, ye won't be disappointed and it will be hassle free.

Room smelled of smoke and was a little dated. Food in restaurant was amazing although it took a little time to come. Grounds are relatively small, however nice and well kept. Hallways a little dull. Exterior of building could do with a freshen up.

In May 2016, I had a family dinner with my parents and their relatives & friends. We drove from Cork. As I am vegetarian, I choose the vegatarian option. Very big mistake unfortunately! I got chicken Vol au Vents and what transpired was the worst case of food poisoning I ever experienced. I had severe stomach cramps that evening. So bad, that we nearly called an Ambulance and for a whole week, I had stomach cramps with very little appetite. I lost 5lbs. Weight in one week! As if the food poisoning was not bad enough, I also got a Liver infection! The doctor told me I got it from food. I was the only one at our table who had Vol au Vents so, I presume, the chicken in it was rotten or undercooked. Needless to say I'm quite angry and I advise anyone never, ever, ever eat anything in The Shamrock Lodge Hotel again. Least you suffer the same fate as I. I would not stay or eat in The Shamrock Lodge ever. Even if I was offered a week in their best room. On a final note, after 7 days, my stomach and liver infection cleared up. Thankfully, I did not need to be hospitalised!

We rented a villa on the grounds for a friends wedding. It was excellent value, it was like renting a serviced flat.

The Shamrock Lodge Hotel is very comfortable and situated in its own gardens only a 10 minutes walk from the Town Centre. The Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are luxurious and the food is very appetising, whether at breakfast time or the evening meal served, out of season, in the cosy bar. Directions and timetable of the regional pool/gym were printed out when guests requested it. I did not go down town until the day of departure! For a person like me who usually enjoys a leisure centre, these premises were a refreshing change and the rates on the Golden Years Break are unbeatable: for 3 DBB with no single supplement my bill came to 139 Euros. May this place be enjoyed by many new customers in weeks to come and merci beaucoup.

The hotel is beautiful and the food is good, but the room not much clear, our found a lot spiders. Maybe it, s more clear.

Got married there in 2011 and have attended countless functions and have always had a good time. Our wedding was excellent and that's in no small part due to the shamrock lodge and their contribution.
