Giltraps Townhouse & Glamping Hotel

Just back from two nights glamping with my family and honestly couldnt fault it. Everything from the log cabins to the scenery was perfect for the peaceful break we where looking for. The staff where amazing and so friendly. Will definitely be back.

Myself and a friend booked a log cabin for a night, in the end we didn't arrive to the place until around 1, 30am and basically the whole town was closed by this late hour! The girl who checked us in had to get out from her bed To Help us out and was so nice and helpful to us. The place itself I have to say is a hidden treasure, really beautiful setting and well done. I would highly recommend people to stay here and I really hope to stay here myself again for a few nights. The facilities are top quality.

Lovely place with great staff. Glamping facilities were top notch.

Needs work. Visited in October. Public areas in B and B were freezing cold. Very basic accommodation. Breakfast menu is good but is not included in price.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Tea coffee making facilities.

I am torn in this rating as there were some good points and some bad points staying here. The good were its central location and the pleasant staff. The bad were that it was not clear where to go when we arrived a d the heating was only turned on at certain times of the day. The other thing was that the rooms, whilst comfy and ok, lacked a bit of polish and was missing a bit of love to them. They could have done with a bit of a refresh if I am completely honest. Another issue was that pre-payment was taken days before we stayed for one amount and then a second payment was taken as we left for another amount, this was resolved by a swift call to my bank but it would have been nice to know in advance. I would certainly not say that this a bad place to stay but it had its quirks, hence why I gave it 3 stars instead of 2.

Just back from a great 2 night stay At Giltraps. Stayed in a lovely cabin nice and cosy very nice people too couldn't do enough for us. Thanks will be back again soon.

Fabulous b&b! We were invited to a wedding in kinnitty castle and decided to spend the night at Giltraps. Located literally around the corner, very clean rooms, lovely breakfast in the morning, staff were helpful and friendly! Enjoyed our stay! That morning after breakfast we were invited to take a look at the clamping site! And now we are about to book our next authentic vacation. Highly recommend!

Nice glamping accommodation, perfect for weddings guests in Kinnitty Castle. Only a six minute drive away. In. Café serves a lovely breakfast.

My room was nice, but the shower was broken and the water was cold. Whatever… So and so.

I stayed here with my two children last week just for one night and it was a lovely trip. The place is so clean and well kept and the people are lovely. The lady Phil was so helpful and friendly and the breakfast was gorgeous! It's a quite area but we had the car and theres also a lovely playground a few minutes walk away I'll definitely consider returning and would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet get away.

Myself & my wife had great time at Giltraps Glamping in a picturesque village of Kinnitty. From the very first moment, when we were greeted warmly at reception, to our seamless checkout, everything was perfect. Lovely log cabins and very tidy. There is also a Mongolian Yurt to be tried for which we are going to try next. We spent two nights but wished we could stay longer, if only we didn't have to come back for work. John and his family who runs the place as well as an award winning Giltraps pub were very welcoming and made our stay very comfortable. Breakfast hamper was very different and unique delivered directly to the door. 1 Free pint of Locally brewed BoBristle Ale tasted really good and went well with my Bombay G&T. Kinnity Castle — just a mile and half away and Birr Castle about 10 miles are worth a visit. Scenic drive to Mounthrath is a good one and also there are plenty of walking routes in that area. Thank you John and family for your hospitality and for making our stay so enjoyable. We will come back in Summer to try the Mongolian Yurt. Roshan Rai.
