Just back from a wonderful break at Breaffy House Hotel. It was so relaxing and our two kids had a ball. It is a fantastic set up for kids, astro pitch, crazy golf, leisure centre, kids disco and a free kids club. We had thought they would love some day trips but were happy to hang out at the hotel. Feels like we all had a fantastic rest. Big shout out to Mairead who seemed to be everywhere in Healy Macs bar and in the restaurant… she couldn't do enough for us and noticed how she wad amazing with other families whp had young kids. Nothing was too big an ask for her and she made an amazing cappuchino too! We also had a gorgeous waitress on our first night called Jasmine who encouraged our little artist. She was made up when her butterfly picture was hung up! Thanks, we will be back 100%

I have to thank breaffy house hotel staff. We had our reunion there on a very busy weekend. The staff were amazing so courteous and willing to go above and beyond for me. It was difficult managing people that I had not seen and they were patient with me in every step of the way in planning the event. On the night the staff were very obviously busy and a lovely waitress came introduced herself to the group and was so helpful. I stayed over that night even though I only live down the road, reason I stayed is because the BnB rate was so competitive that I couldn't resist. Glad I stayed now as the breakfast was amazing and the same wait staff were there and were calling us by our first name. The breakfast chef was really accommodating cooking to order that was not on the menu. Well done Breaffy proud to know your just a stones throw away and I'd confidentially reccomend this hotel to anyone… thanks so much.

Had a good time friendly staff had a meal with friend we planning to there on a night week day my favourite spot in castlebar I had nice drinks love the fire such nice hotel.

Beautiful hotel in stunning grounds. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Bar has a great menu. Well worth a visit to the Spa and pool.

Rude staff or at least bar staff. Went to the bar to see the menu and was more or less shouted at to move to the side as was in the way. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I had to leave. Absolutely shocking way to talk to people.

Overall lovely experience. Would recommend and hopefully return some day.

We celebrated our wedding in Breaffy House Hotel on 01.01.2021. Despite the pandemic and having to bring our date forward due to the new government restrictions, these guys made it happen! Katie (Wedding Coordinator) throughout our planning process was amazing — so down to earth and approachable, made things easy through her knowledge, experience and fantastic personality. Everything was done with a hundred and ten per cent effort, the staff couldn't do enough for us or our guests. The meal was flawless, piping hot, delicious and abundant including dinner the evening before, arrival food, evening food and breakfast. We know everyone will recommend the venue where they got married, that's fair enough… but we think we picked a winner and would honestly say that Breaffy House Hotel & Spa Resort was the perfect wedding venue for us.

Had a lovely stay this weekend. Everything was perfect from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. The room we had (bridal suite) was amazing with beautiful views out over the courtyard and woods. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and we were made to feel very safe as in regards to Covid-19. We had dinner in the bar Friday night and I'd highly recommend the burger. Dinner in the restaurant on Saturday was amazing. The food was top class. If Yr looking for a lovely peaceful weekend in a beautiful place then u won't go wrong at breaffy house hotel. We will be back soon.

We had such a lovely weekend at Breaffy House! Beautiful grounds, friendly staff & unreal food! Honestly the nicest meal in the restaurant & bar food is lovely too. Really recommend & will be back.

Fabulous hotel in a fabulous location. Very relaxing & all meals were delicious. Staff were friendly & helpful & I will be coming back soon because this hotel is so close to all beaches & Westport ~ Newport & Mulranny.

Lovely friendly staff who were very helpful. Spacious triple room. We were delighted that there was still a buffet breakfast (adapted but not eliminated! )
The grounds are beautiful, the pool is lovely and the chef makes a lovely vegan stir fry!

Fantastic place, for young and old. So much to do in the one place — swimming, tennis, crazy golf, forest walk/cycle and super playgrounds. Great food and lovely outdoor seating with great views and live music in the evening. Lovely staff too. Highly recommend it.

We recently had a christening in the hotel and also stayed. From booking it to breakfast the next day our experience was amazing. The food was top class. All the staff could not have been more helpful. There was a lovely atmosphere. We felt very safe with covid regulations there was temperature checks on arrival. Social distance adherence and hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes with key cards. We would highly recommend.

Had a lovely dinner at the pub. Waitstaff was great. Salmon with cream potatoes was delicious. The building is gorgeous. Would love to stay and try the Spa.

I was their a few years ago. The staff was very nice I haven't a bad word to say. Next chance I get il be stayn again u feel more at home when your their the food is beautiful unlike other places I stayed in I was very disappointed im not hear to run nobody down its my opinion…

We went here in a group of 21 for our late mams birthday and the staff could not have been more helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as hassle free as possible. Would definitely go back in a heartbeat.

Fabulous ambience… great staff!

We visited the spa, it was a relaxing experience. Three of us had a wonderful morning. Staff were so knowledgeable and helpful. On downside the pool, sauna and jacuzzi could do with an update.

The room was cold and dated and when reception was told we got a small electric heater that barely heated the room, staff in the bar were not great as in very very slow service and unfriendly and the bar is not stocked great, food was delicious, pool area lovely once all the children’s swim classes finished and the steam room was just steam, I hate giving a bad review but this is a 4 star hotel but feels like a 2.5 to 3 star.

Not usually one for giving reviews but just wanted to thank the staff for making our stay on Tuesday night so enjoyable, they were so kind and welcoming and made it a great experience for us ☺️

Myself and my wife stayed for the weekend! and what an enjoyable time we had! staff were so friendly and helpful no matter which member of staff you met! food was amazing! breakfast was probably the best I've ever had! could not fault the time we spent there!

Very nice hotel and staff are very helpful. Food was very good. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Nice grounds for walking.

We stayed for 4 nights, with our 2 boys. It has great entertainment for kids throughout the day and night. It rained all week but we still had fun.

Couldn't recommend breffy house enough we had a brilliant stay here. Such a family friendly hotel with so much for kids between parks and entertainment. Food and service was excellent.

5 star couldn't recommend Breaffy House any more. The staff are all fantastic. We got married in Breaffy in April 2019 and everything was absolutely perfect best day of our lives thanks to Denise and the team in Breaffy.

The warm welcome and service off the staff and the high quality food and drink made it a great FnF reunion weekend!

Fabulous place to stay. Staff are Absolutely Amazing! I hope the management recognise all their hard work. Nothing is too much effort for them. The woman on reception who done a night then a morning shift was just Fabulous & welcoming. Mairead was fantastic in the restaurant. A Big Thank you to All. A Wonderful place to stay relaxing Luxurious Spotless with Fabulous Food & Fantastic Pool & Spa facilities. I just coukd nit recommend this hotel enough. I will definitely be back.

Place has improved massively after the recent renovations. Food in the restaurant is very good and the bar is very well ran. Friendly and efficient staff and good service.

Very good hotel and great for family too. Staff is nice and helpful. However If the breakfast is very nice, the food could be better at the restaurant and at the bar. That would not be a luxury. For the rest I would still recommend the hotel… again especially for families.

Just back from a family break in the Breaffy Woods Hotel. This is our 3rd time there. The family rooms are huge and spotless. Theres a kids club, family entertainment at night, a fantastic swimming pool, kids golf, playgrounds, beautiful walks everything you need is on site and the food is 100% spot on. The staff made our trip extra special, a beautiful lady who works in Healey Macs bar, her name is Mairead went out of her way everytime to talk to us and make sure our kids and ourselves were enjoying our trip, such a lovely lady. My 7 year old son even rememberd her from last year, he loves her, also the lovely receptionist called Shauna from the Woods Hotel, another beautiful lady who the kids loved and rememberd from our last trip she was fantastic with the kids and took the time to chat to them and look after us, my son cried leaving today and she gave the kids a lovely hug. Beautiful memories for them to have thanks to the fantastic staff. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

A place with lots to do, with so little time and great weather families can be a bit spoilt. A fairy garden, a putting area, and outdoor play area are only a few features. The restaurant could be better, as in the cleanliness of the place and the aromas around. Although the range for gluten free breakfast was vast and good. The sleeping parts could have some improvement, such as better sound proofing in the rooms. The leisure centre is really good too. A child friendly pool with areas for adults. Lots more too. N.

Great place to stay with the kids. There was 6 of us in a room and we had plenty of space. The food in the restaurant of both hotels was great, although the breakfast isn't great in my opinion. There is plenty of choice but I wasn't too keen on it. The grounds are great and with lots of nice walks. The kids are well looked after with the kids club and good entertainment in the evening. Staff were very friendly and helpful too.

After staying in several hotels and B&B's this was one of my favorites. It was a large comfortable room. The size of the room was nice because we had been in a very small room in our accommodations from the previous night. After traveling from place to place for a week and a half with a 5 year old in tow it was nice to have a place where we could stretch out for a while. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The only complaint I had was that our room was very close to the parking lot but we had to walk all the way to the lobby just to backtrack on the outside of the hotel to get to our vehicle. It's not a big deal unless you are carrying luggage.

We had a family meal for 80 people at Breaffy House Hotel last Saturday afternoon. The staff were brilliant, the food excellent and the general atmosphere in the Hotel was so friendly. I would highly recommend for any events like this. Well done all at Breaffy House Hotel.

Rates were very reasonable. Room itself very clean and spacious. Lack of Air Conditioning is bothersome during summer stays. TVs in rooms have HDMI and USB media playback capabilities which is fantastic. Landscape around the hotel is great, very open and brilliant if you want to go for walks or enjoy the outdoors.

Ideal venue for parties weddings, been to a lot of social events in my time, but the staff in Breaffy were the best yet! Such hard working, sufficient and so pleasent to deal with nothing was to much trouble bless you all guys.

We enjoyed our stay and the location was convenient. Everyone was friendly. The fitness center was quite busy.

I would like to thank everyone at breaffy house for making my daughters confirmation and communion the best day ever for both of them I would highly recommend the hotel for an event thanks to all the management and staff excellent service.

We had our photos done one the grounds of Breaffy and we were spoilt for choice. It was truly an amazing day made better by you guys. You haven’t seen the last of us we’ll be back for more, not only the good food but the drinks, warm welcomes but mostly the memories. Lovely "castle" like atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and clean. Bed was quite comfortable.

A wonderful resort in a typical Irish style and is idyllically situated in the midst of the breathtaking nature.
The rooms are nice, large enough and clean. The staff is politely nice. Breakfast adequate.
The location is great for exploring the area. As for example in the appealing Westport.

Had fabulous few days at Breaffy House Hotel. Great staff. Food was lovely. Comfortable beds. Pool area great. It's a great family hotel.

We stayed here for three nights over the Easter break it was just fantastic. Firstly I have to compliment the kids club staff, it was so well organized all the girls were so friendly & Great with the kids, picking them up at the room at 9am until 1pm. The kids aged 11, 6 & 4 couldn't wait to go back the next morning. Having a good kids club made a huge difference to our holiday kids were happy & We had some relaxing time.
The entertainment in the evening was also excellent the two girls doing the dancing & disco were just so good with the kids. The kids were fully entertained each day & evening.
The staff in the hotel were so friendly & polite which made it a pleasure to stay here. The rooms were perfect so clean and most importantly quiet! We ate in Healy macs bar every evening the manager & all the staff were so accommodating & friendly which made eating with 3 kids much easier. Food was fantastic with good kids menu & reasonably priced.
We can't wait to come back here again.

Super complex, nice setting.

Lovely spot staff friendly, junior suit very spacious and decently priced. Didn't try the hotel restaurant so can't comment on that but over all a very gorgeous location to visit. Not massively fond of the local town.

Great gym well equipped clean. Staff are fantastic. Know their stuff friendly helpful. Can't believe I love going to this gym so much.

I recently spent two nights in February at the Breaffy House hotel. I travelled with my friend. We were celebrating my birthday. On arrival we were greeted and welcomed by a wonderful receptionist. Our bags were taken in by two porters who were very helpful. We arrived when a wedding was in full swing. Overall our experience was relaxing and very enjoyable. The food was delicious. The breakfast selection was one the best I have experienced. All the staff were friendly and helpful. When having drinks in the bar on the first evening. My friend mentioned that I was celebrating my birthday. I was sent over a drink on the house. Our second day was a spa day. This was also very enjoyable with top class pampering and a glass of bubbly to finish. All in all a very memorable experience and I would recommend to anyone who wants a short break in beautiful surroundings.

Gorgeous. Located in a great location. Very warm and cosy, yet spacious also. Bed very comfy and amazing shower. Have yet to use the leisure centre facilities but delighted they're there. Check out the fancy toiletries!

The breakfast was poor for €15 per adult, Went down to cafe M the second morning and got a good. The pizza in the bar the night before wasn't any better. The room we stayed in was a good size clean and tidy but in the bathroom the basin was cracked and the paint had damp marks on the ceiling.

I have stayed a number of times and usually the experience is pretty good (but often there is one thing that doesn't go quite right). The hotel is set in a large wooded area with the original hotel and the newer more modern addition which has larger rooms but would only be open March — October (as far as I can tell). Staff are mostly pleasant and helpful; the breakfast is fairly good and the rooms are spacious.

What an amazing stay in the hotel resort! We had the best time this weekend and the service and manner of the staff was out of this world I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here! There was such a great atmosphere amongst the staff and the people staying here, all I can say is we had the best time and thanks so much for making it a great one!

Very noise at night in the hallways and the fire alarm went off and not even a apology from the hotel reception on checking out. Very tired after the relaxing break away. Other than that the hotel is lovely with great food and very friendly staff.

Fabulous hotel. Attended a large wedding, which can often cause food quality and service to suffer but not here. Staff were courteous and professional, the design and decor are luxurious and comfortable. Service and food quality was superb. What a wonderful venue for an excellent event.

Great place, great staff quiet n scenic, leisure centre high quality with gym n pool, needs a little TLC in our room n decor other than that highly recommend, great food, only 5 mins from Castlebar town, would go again.

Beautiful hotel set in magnificent grounds with leisure centre. Ideal for families. Great children's playground and games room. Good bar food as well as restaurant. Very popular wedding venue.

We had a weekend break in Mayo, and must say, we were very impressed with Breaffy. The building facade has a castle look which gave the place a magical quality. We got a suite on the third floor. They told us it was recently refurbished, and I believe it. I had come expecting a nice bedroom/bathroom combo, but we got four luxurious spaces (seriously, the walk-in closet had style! ). Our favourite was probably the bathroom with rain shower, his and her sinks, and back lighting behind the tub. You could also tell that the bed and linen were top quality. We both had a wonderful time here. I would really recommend it, and we hope to be back! Finally, I would also say the staff at Breaffy were excellent. If only for allowing me to bring my breakfast into the bar so I could watch the Lions game on TV. It's the small touches.

A brilliant 3 star hotel that's just a few inches from 4 star. The house and grounds and rooms and facilities are all wonderful and are a cut above most that you would find in Ireland but it needs some more professionals in the kitchen and aspects of the revamp need to happen quicker and at better or more appropriate times of the year. A revitalised menu for the restaurant would go a long way with some things being at least cooked to order. On a bad note, get rid of the pizza menu in the bar and lounge. Those things are going to injure somebody. All in all, well worth the price.

Well … I don't know if the German demands are just higher … the pool complex has totally come down! Cables hung around the hot tub, holding poles were loose, and the cleanliness left something to be desired. I'm not very sensitive but in the pool and changing area it was just dingy so I left this area after a few minutes. The dinner was delicious and the service very friendly. From the outside, the hotel looks pointed and it looks like a castle. From the inside, the rooms are rather simply furnished, too bad that you could not feel any more of the burgfeeling there. For that, the rooms were large and clean. So if you just want to stay overnight, you come up with quite enough. However, I wouldn't want to spend a week here and I don't extend a wellness holiday. The stars are for the exterior façade and the park, the service and the food. Anything else, unfortunately, disappointed.
Achja the rooms are insanely clairvoyant … and construction work is underway.
You can hear everyone walking by, every door, just everything.

Fabulous hotel, food lovely and staff are great. Was disappointed that half of Castlebar seem to have swimming lessons on a Saturday morning leaving only a small corner of the pool for guests.

Wonderful stay, staff ever so pleasent and helpful. Some building works ongoing but it did not hamper the enjoyment of our stay.

Great family hotel. Was in room 3030 but moved to room 2033. It was much nicer and quieter. Reception accommodation the move. Super swimming pool. Staff very friendly. Great place to stay. The bikes and boards are there in the morning for hiring bikes and to book the stand up paddle board.

Absolute rubbish! The food was horrible, the restaurant a hell hole filled with noise, interior worn and smelly. Do you self a favor and find something else.

Staff were friendly and helpful, we slept well during our one night stay. As our room and the building in general was showing signs of neglect we decided not to eat breakfast at the hotel.

I am enjoying my stay here but the food menu could be better.

Disappointed with the over all experience. Food was mediocre, I had to pay an extra 5 euro above our stay package for a steak dinner and it had a lot or gristle and fat on it. The mashed potato's tasted like instant. We had them swap out the mattress on our bed because it was so uncomfortable and the new one was marginally better. The staff were nice but they don't have a lot to work with despite how good the hotel looks on the outside. The place needs to be updated eg. Their internet connection is painfully slow. The best things it has going for it are the pool and the hot showers. We won't be back and won't recommend Breaffy Woods Hotel to anyone we know.

Having stayed at this hotel in 2013 with the family we are really excited going back again this weekend! Fab family hotel with excellent staff and great activities for all the family! Highly recommended.

What a place never again Will I go to a hotel that I haven't review, food very bad, rooms a mess, some staff rude and unresponsive, seen a old lady fall in restaurants because of old carpet wore out, they didn't care what a place.

I have done a lot of traveling and stayed in a lot of hotels…some good and some pretty frightening. Have NEVER had just a horrible experience as my two nights at the Breaffy House Hotel. For two nights straight my friend and I were subjected to roving bands of children between the ages of 6 and 18 yelling, talking, and singing up and down the hallway until the wee hours…not a parent to be seen – at first anyway. We heard one group of teenage boys chanting at a woman walking by to “show us your tits. ” The kids are apparently contestants in the All Ireland Talent Show. First night, we were calling down to reception and asking them to quiet the kids down. We could tell that the bell boy came up a few times but a short while later the noise would start again. The second night, around 10 pm, after being subjected to several hours of this rowdiness, I tried to call down to reception. The line was busy. So I kept trying…busy for an hour. So, I called the bar thinking they might know the whereabouts the receptionist. The poor guy who answered reported that he was the only one there and wasn’t able to help me. I realized that we were on our own. So, I called upon my 15 years as a youth minister/chaperone of tweens and teens, and started going out into the hallway whenever I heard a rowdy group. Three times I went out and told the kids to shut up, go to their rooms, and where were their parents. There usual response was giggles.
