An imposing and astheticically pleasing structure, this long established five star hotel offers the very best in luxurious accommodation and delicious fayre. Easy access and convenient, the plush interior is the perfect place to relax and unwind and enjoy delish food and fine company. The amazingly helpful Team on hand to cater to one's every hospitality need. Nor to mention a really select wedding and academic graduation celebration venue. Overall, my favourite establishment in Galway!. See you really soon again! xox.

Just had lunch in the Hardiman and they had the most wonderful vegan soup and mains there. Would highly recommend for any vegans. The brown bread was absolutely delicious. Also the dessert was divine and was surprised they had a vegan brownie with strawberry icecream. This really set a high bar for vegan cuisine in Galway. Will definitely be back for more.

Beautiful hotel staff are just amazing absolutely brilliant. Our third stay. During different times it’s been a safe and very happy experience thank you all so much. Air conditioning was just the icing on the cake at 27+ degrees xx.

The most amazing hotel with the most beautiful decor. I fell in love with this hotel and most definitely will be returning. Enjoyed my stay from start to finish the only one little problem was at our dinner both our steaks were un-edible, which was just the quality of steak itself not the chefs fault. Other than this I can not fault the hotel at all. The staff are the most friendliest and welcoming staff I have ever came across in all my stays in hotels. They most definitely deserve a lot of praise.
The rooms are beautiful with big chandeliers and big curtains, extremely clean and beds were extremely comfy. Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough.

Highly recommend. Great restaurants and bars. Cozy yet elegant. Very helpful staff. Only one downside is the nightlife spills on the the square on weekends and can be noisy, it was for us. This is only for rooms overlooking the square. 4.5 stars.

Stayed last week and had an amazing time. Dinner was awesome, the staff was exceptional and even though going through renovations, they were very aware and accomodating. Loved it there.

Food was absolutely horrible.
ordered fish and chips and when I ate some it was literally like they were soaked in oil. Didn't even taste like fish, just crunchy oil. Went out with my fiance after eating this monstrosity and we had to come back to the hotel because I couldn't stop puking over it. Puking all night long and completely ruined our anniversary. This happened like 2 months ago and like once a week I think of it and makes me feel so sick, like I thought if it a few minutes ago and feel like puking right now, I had to right a review. I'm not even being dramatic like but I rather die than eat there again.

Hotel Meyrick was a great choice when visiting Galway. We paid around €200 per night for a standard room. We had a rental car and paid €8 for 24 hours valet. On-site restaurant was amazing; some of the best food we’ve had in Ireland. Their breakfast in the morning was also hearty and tasty. This feels like a historic hotel and was comfortable. No A/C, just partially opened windows, which was fine, even in July. Highly recommend if you can secure a good price.

What an amazing place! We loved our stay. The room, a junior sweet, was beautiful and comfortable. The decor is definitely vintage so if you're looking for sparkling new this isn't the place for you. We loved it and thought it added to the charm of the place. The staff were all so lovely and welcoming. The location is perfect for wandering while being just off of the main route through town. We absolutely would stay here again next time we're in Galway.

I'm not sure where this hotel gets its 4 star rating but a lot of the decor is very dated, most particularly I'm talking about the carpets and a lot of the carpets were stained. The whole hotel could certainly benefit from a refresh. The food was also thoroughly underwhelming, the sauce that came with the mozzarella balls tasted like fly spray and the mozzarella balls had more of a risotto consistency.

I was very disappointed in my room. The full sized bed was uncomfortable as were the pillows. The bathroom door didn't close with out a good shove because it was tightly fitted against the wall which was all scraped up from the door. The closet where the refrigerator is, was hard to get into. I had to move the chair and table to get around the closet door to get to anything in there. The room and furnishings were outdated. I felt like I was in a 1960's roadside motel. My view was of the dumpster, and because there is no air conditioning, the window was open for air and unfortunately, the street noise that went with it.
I also feel that the picture of the "standard room" on the hotel's website is a misrepresentation of what a standard room can be at this hotel. The hotel did offer a different room, but with twin beds and I was told it was smaller than what I was in. They did, however, bring me a down pillow and they wiped up the puddle on the window sill that formed while the outside of the window was being washed. The window leaked.
I did enjoy the bar and the lovely lobby area and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. BUT… I wouldn't want to spend the money for a room like that again.

Grand old Dame of the Galway Hotel scene. High ceilings. Great lobby, friendly attentive staff, two good bars, delicious lunchtime fare in the Gaslight. Great spot for high tea, and for meetings, business or pleasure. Best location in Galway… often overlooked… but really excellent spot.

Great hotel. Was very comfortable here and would stay again. Had a room on the 3rd floor in the main building right over the front door and it was roomy and clean with high ceilings. It had an adequate bathroom with very good water pressure in the shower. Bed was firm with very clean sheets. Breakfast every morning was included and was very good. It is true that the hotel doesn't have AC or screens in the windows or ability to control your room's temperature and that could be a draw-back for some people. However, Ireland doesn't get very hot and there are not many flying insects to worry about. I left my window wide open and slept fine. Some noise from late-night revelers below, but that is to be expected in Galway. One of my friends asked for a fan and the hotel was happy to get one for him. The location of the hotel may be its finest feature. Central to all the nightlife, shopping and transportation options. An observation rather than a critique is that the hotel bar never gets very busy. There are so many other Pub options in the area, I can see why. The hotel bar is bright and clean, but not very warm. Not very much like a typical Irish Pub at all, but the staff is friendly and cater to you very well — a fine place to meet for drinks and appetizers before heading out for the night.

Very nice. Traditional decor (not my personal taste) but huge room w king bed and seating area. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet standard.

A nice hotel very central. Staff are friendly and the food is good. In the old part of the hotel the rooms are nicely furnished with high ceilings.

Central hotel. Nice service. Good breakfast, but you should bring patience if you want to order coffee and toast, here the service is not exactly fast. At least around 7h.
The rooms are already in their old age and would be able to use a renovation. At least in many places you can see clear signs of use that do not fit the other level. That's a shame. On-site parking is limited and you should reserve one beforehand, otherwise you have to go to the public parking lot right next door. This is okay, but it means that you need enough coin money and you escape the parking service.

Good food but very slow service in Gaslight Brasserie.

Stay away. Because of the reviews, website, and price we were expecting a 4 star hotel. That is not The Meyrick. It is very basic. And while it is a wonderful location, there are many other hotels in the area with the basics and better amenities than The Meyrick for a lower price. Our biggest complaint was the lack of air conditioning. While it may not get HOT in Ireland, we needed a/c for some air flow, our room was pretty warm since the hotel is well insulated. No screens on the windows, we were able to use the windows to cool down our room but would have been better with a screen. The bathrooms and rooms are very small. This place is okay but everywhere else we stayed cost less and had air conditioning. Breakfast was free which is nice but all other tables were offered coffee and tea and we were not despite trying to waive down a server, we were ignored. Afternoon tea was nice as well as the spa. Definitely save your money and stay at the Jury’s Inn.

Beautiful hotel in the city centre, we came for a family wedding the food and the service was excellent, nothing was a problem for the staff they made sure everything was perfect and the whole experience of an Irish wedding was unforgettable.

Really disappointed with afternoon tea I went as a treat for me and my two sisters the staff were only ok one girl much nicer than the other … was very off-putting… bread was stale and hard and I presumed we would have three of the same sandwich each but instead we were dissapointed to have to barter each other for our favourite ones! Scones were lovely and the tea itself but overall quite dissapointing and when I wanted to ask for fresh sandwiches I gave up trying to find anyone there was only the girl who didn't look like she would of taken it too kindly and I was afraid to ask! I love meyrick but left underwhelmed.

Beautiful hotel, perfect location. Nice balance of updates and charm. Off site valet car park very affordable and makes it easy. On-site restaurant very good for breakfast and dinner.

We were upgraded to the executive suite and it was amazing. A view fight over Eyre Square and the hot tubs just down the hall. It was an experience. I would highly recommend using the outside hot tub as it gives an amazing view of the docks.

The hotel is in great location and provided romantic historic spaces. The rooms range from very simple to larger luxurious ones. The simple rooms are overpriced. They are tiny, smelly, and they are not located in the main historic building. However, all rooms are accessed from the main building. Hotel has a nice small spa at the rooftop, but that closes very early during the weekend (5:30pm when we were there). Breakfast is decent and included in the price. Booking directly through hotel's web page can save you €5.

My partner and I booked in for afternoon tea for Saturday, January 6th at 4pm, earlier on that day I rang the hotel to see if there was any chance at all of coming 30 minutes earlier than the booking, I was told there was no chance, I popped into the hotel before our booking and noticed a number of free tables so there was a chance of arriving earlier but the hotel staff just did not want to accommodate us. Upon arriving for our 4pm booking I went to reception to let them know we had arrived and was wondering where I should go, she told me to go stand in the lobby and someone will speak to me. We stood in the lobby for about 10 minutes whilst the waitresses passed by us time and time again, there was nobody to show us to our seat or greet us for. I asked one of the waitresses if we were in the right place and I was told I should have gone to the desk on the left when we arrived. She rushed us to our seat and thundered off. (It would have been nice to have been given an option of where we would like to sit seeing as there were many empty seats but we were put in the corner away from the piano).

Went here for a friend’s wedding and stayed for three nights. Service was very good — and good quality food which is hard with big numbers. The breakfast was excellent and very handy valet parking.

We have been coming here for ten years! love love love the place, rooms are all great! Canadian hot tub is to die for! All the staff are so helpful and friendly we wouldn't have our anniversary anywhere else!

Wonderful stay here. The suite was huge. Staff was lovely. Great location, my favourite part of the experience was pulling up at the door and your car was taken for parking and brought back to the front door again when you were leaving. Now that's 5star service.

Very nice place to go for afternoon tea or for a meal with your friends. I would recommend it. I myself have been coming here for decades now. I still remember how this place looked in the 80s and through the 90s as well lol. Ha ha totally. I must also recommend it very much because the hotel staff are pretty friendly and supportive towards the customers. I for one would very much approve in my own time. There was this one incident when a so-called staff member gave me abuse and the manager of the place stuck up for me and fired that fool. For that to me very generous assistance Im most grateful indeed. Not many other places would be so caring towards customers.
Such is a most important understanding to have among staff members that being caring about your customers. It is most important for staff members to not treat customers them like dirt which is what unfortunately many other places so foolishly and entirely un-necessarilly do with not to mention outright wondering of why it comes back so negative upon them in return.

I found my gem in Ireland. Love this hotel. I have stayed in several hotels all over Ireland and this has to be on the top of my list from quality of rooms to the staff. High compliments to management and staff. This will definitely be a must to visit during my trips to Ireland. I cannot wait to return for my next stay.

The Hotel brasserie is fantastic good and very cheap to be the most central of the city.

The Mayrick is a lovely hotel and has the hallmark of a grand, luxurious traditional hotel. Unfortunately we weren't able to try the spa facilities but the room was lovely. Size wise it was big and packed with things you would expect is such a hotel. Food was great to as was the service. My only gripe would be that we stayed 2 nights on the weekend of storm Ophelia and had asked for an extended check out period so we find out whether our flight would still be flying the same day. Unfortunately, the hotel were only willing to move the check out from 12 to 1 which didn't really help and made us take the decision to drive back to Dublin at 1pm when the storm was reaching its peak. A little more empathy and care would have been appreciated. But the hotel is lovely and we enjoyed our stay there.

I just went to the spa here for a couples massage, it was amazing and the Canadian hot tub overlooking the water is a must do if you stay here.

Wonderful experience. We stayed in a suite overlooking ayre square the staff were excellent. Worth paying the extra for the suite. Bar is nice and food is also good. Close to everything and a great spa.

Good location in buzzing GALWAY surrounded by shops, pubs (live music), and restaurants. Room is big and clean, bathroom is lovely and BIG!

Terrific hotel. We are in a great room, with a king bed and a lovely sitting area. We have not yet had breakfast here, but look forward to it tomorrow morning. We are also booked in for afternoon tea tomorrow!

Great location on Eyre square in the middle of Galway. It is a bit noisy, as the main bus transfers are quite near. Also, there is no AC, which would be OK usually, but it was warm when we were there so we had to open a window. Because this is in the city center, it was quite noisy with the window open.

It is a good hotel but if you agree to serve for a month 20 people, reducing the prices, you must to always provide a quality service. Otherwise would not have had to accept the situation.

I will say the location is very nice, however, I'm unsure if it was simply the location of OUR room but it was a very unpleasant stay. We were on the 3rd floor facing the back and there was never any quiet. Without any A/C the windows were open at all times to keep it somewhat cool in the room but the lot behind the hotel is always busy and loud with people and buses at all hours. Along with that noise the hallways noise was unbearable. The doors SLAM shut throughout the night and early morning and you can hear the cleaning persons and other customers as they chat in the hallway as if they are actually inside of your room. I wish my stay was as pleasant as everyone else. If they simply stopped the doors from slamming shut that would be helpful to a good nights rest which I did not get while staying at the Meyrick.

The Hotel Meyrick is a lovely old hotel within steps of the train station and Eyre park. We had a junior suite which was very spacious and well appointed with a sitting room, dining area, sleeping area and large bathroom. The service was attentive, and none of our requests went unmet. You have to try the seafood chowder — — it's not to be missed. The hot tub is nice and I had a decent massage. There were nice touches in the bathroom, for example, complimentary lavender bath salts and heated towel bars. I loved the antique furnishings and didn't find it dated — — maybe a little worn in spots, but that added to its authenticity.

Loved this hotel! Good rooms, excellent service, and the best location! Every single staff member from the Valet Parking Attendant, clerks, waitresses, and everyone in between was exceptional. Never have I stayed in a hotel with such impeccable service. It is right next to Eyre square which is in perfect proximity to everything. One last thing… Bernie (reception) is a credit to this hotel… she did our little girl a big favour which made her Halloween holiday.

This hotel has a lovely warm atmosphere and the staff can't do enough to help. When you're here as well — make time for the Canadian hot tub on the roof balcony! Would fully recommend.

The location is ideal and the junior suite is enormous — but the decor is dated and the service isn't up to par. Disappointing.

Huge rooms, with old style. It seems well preserved since the 19th century. The fully renovated bathroom with antique style. The Gim, cutrecillo, but with a fantastic view. Helpful staff, but in general the Irish are probably so.

Thought the rooms and the bathrooms were a little bit dated. Not as impressive as I thought they would be. Great location thou.
