Lovely food. Friendly staff.

Had a fantastic 3night stay. Dining experience was excellent and food was plentiful. Staff were really pleasant and helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean. Parking was free and leisure centre with heated pool was a good bonus. Will definitely return to stay there.

Was at a wedding there yesterday. Best day in years. Great food great staff really great place to go.

Customer service is very poor, staff all seem miserable. Definitely invest in either new staff or a good training program. Definitely not worthy of 4 stars.

We celebrated our wedding in the Clayton Hotel Galway in July 2021, Karina and her team were amazing from the moment we made our first enquiry. The venue was amazing, hotel staff fantastic and the the food was just perfect. There was always brilliant communication from Karina and she made our wedding day just perfect doing as much as she could given the restrictions in place. We would definitely recommend Karina and the Clayton Hotel Galway to anyone planning their wedding. Marian & Dave.

Very nice hotel and very friendly staff, the food was lovely. Only thing That was wrong was that I couldn’t watch the game while eating as only one telly in bar.

We had our wedding on 10th of April 2021. From the moment we met Karina back in 2019 we knew we were in good hands. Although due to the pandemic our numbers were cut significantly Karina reassured us that our day would still be perfect, and she was right. From beginning to end our wedding day was like a fairytale. Karina and all the staff at the Clayton looked after us and our family so well. The food was absolutely fabulous and our glasses were never empty. We cannot thank you enough Karina and team and can’t wait to catch up with you when we can. ❤️ For any couples who are in two minds about whether to go ahead or not, just do it! The memories you will make with your immediate family will last a lifetime 💫✨

We had our wedding in the clayton last weekend and everything was perfect. Karina and the team are amazing, nothing was too much, the attention to detail was amazing, and karina put our mind at ease from day 1 dealing with her. The hotel is fab, the layout was amazing and the food was 5 star. Our guests are still saying how good the food and portion sizes where.
The function room was great and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. I cant recommend the clayton enough! If your in 2 minds about having your wedding during covid with limited numbers, do it! Karina and her team made the whole day feel so full of people and the layout made the room feel full. You wont regret going with the clayton, they went above and beyond. Thank you Karina and staff

We had our wedding in Clayton hotel on the 30th December 2019. Karina and her team were amazing. From our very first meeting with Karina we knew we would be well looked after and this gave John Gerard and I great confidence. On the day of our wedding expectations were exceeded by the professionalism and the attention to detail that we received. Everything was perfect we could not fault one single thing. The service and food was outstanding, the feedback from our families and guests was so positive. We loved every minute of our special day and we were so happy we chose the Clayton hotel. Beautiful hotel… We stayed in the family room which was wonderful … lots of room and well catered for with everything you'd need… very clean. Food great … and good selection of cocktails. Gym and pool are brilliant. Staff so friendly and helpful … Good value … we will definitely be coming back!

It’s a lovely hotel staff lovely x helpful x food beautiful just have one small problem don’t go to a concert there as nobody at door to check people from talking x laughing during concert.

Just home from a fabulous 2 night stay, loved every minute of our stay great atmosphere and fantastic staff. Anne and Emily in the restaurant looked after us so well and Hannah in the bar was great.

We had the pleasure of having our wedding at the Clayton Hotel recently and we were absolutely delighted with Karina and the team there. From start to finish, Karina was absolutely amazing to work with — her attention to detail, professionalism and ability to keeping everyone so calm and at ease — we couldn't fault her or any of the staff at the Clayton. The wedding reception itself went off without a hitch and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend the Clayton for anyone considering having their wedding there.

Food wasn't great restaurent closed on Sunday not even a bag of crisps to be got after 9.45 unless out of a machine @ €1.60 a pkt. Bar man downstairs told me servuce was finished up I explained we were resident asked for the resident bar & he growled there was none… I then asked to speak to a manager he growled try reception I'm finished now anyway the guy at reception sent us (there were 5 of us & one lady had travelled from the US) up to the first floor this was a joke the bar staff were nice but the layout was shocking chairs everywhere no table we had to leave our drinks down on the floor, you actually couldn't make it up. Shower over the bath was treacherous bath matt didn't adhere to the bath the shower screen was permanent so couldn't be adjusted & the hand rail was behind so in effect useless.

We had our wedding in the Clayton Hotel at the weekend. Our guests have been commenting since on the fab food and how attentive the staff were. Everyone had a fantastic time and those who stayed enjoyed the comfort of the rooms. The BBQ the day after was delicious too. The food was plentiful!

Recently got married at The Clayton and we're so happy we chose it as our venue. The staff were fantastic. Karina just made the whole experience stress free and so enjoyable. Her attention to detail, knowledge, personality and her can do attitude made The Clayton stand out above any other venue we looked at. Karina remained a joy the deal with from day one to D day! Everything about the Clayton was perfect on our big day. The food was amazing, the reception was stunning, the decor, the staff, the way the looked after us, the list goes on. The little personal touches were such a treat. They literally thought of everything. We had such a relaxed day knowing that we were in such capable hands. Thank you so much to all of the events staff who made our day everything we dreamed it would be!

We had Sunday lunch in the Tribes restaurant in the Clayton today. The food was just delicious, all the staff were lovely and very accomodating and overall I'd highly recommend dining here. I had a lovely relish with my dinner and asked what it was because it was so delicious. The waitress went to find out what it was and came back with 2 small pots of it for me to bring home. Such a lovely gesture. There was a kids corner which kept the kids happy with games and colouring while we waited between courses. We will be back soon for more delicious food.

I was lucky enough to win a prize for mother's day. The hotel staff were amazing, no request was an issue. The food was amazing. Would highly recommend. Thanks Mairead especially.

We had our wedding a week ago in the Clayton. We honestly had the best day.
Karina was our Wedding Coordinator and we couldn't speak highly enough of her. We met Karina back in November and from then right up until our Wedding, she couldn't have done more for us. She was so professional, helpful, approachable and friendly. Nothing was hassle and anything we asked for, she made sure we got.
On the day the entire staff made sure our day was amazing and everything ran smoothly. … The food was amazing and the service was excellent. The atmosphere in the hotel was lovely and so relaxed.
We would definitely recommmend this hotel to anyone thinking of a Galway Wedding.

Amazing staff, had our wedding here a few weeks ago, Karina and Carmel were amazing to deal with took all the pressure off and made it such an amazing relaxing and enjoyable day for us both, can't recommend this place enough…

From the time I arrived staff where excellent very pleasant and helpful. Beautiful hotel room was perfect lots of space. My youngest child loved the kids club wanting to go back in each evening. Food was gorgeous from breakfast /dinner. The bar lacked entertainment /music in the evenings but other than that over all experience 100% I would definitely recommend to families with children. Swimming pool was nice and warm my girls loved it. Ideal location close to everything.

Enjoyed our 1 night stay. Pool great, food excellent and reasonably priced. Lovely bar with music in the evening. Only issue was that the rooms need upgrading as worn. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Stayed in the secondary building (so the others may be different). It's right next to the motorway. The windows and glass are thick and keep most of the sound out, but you still hear every car going by. Clean bathroom and room. T. V. Should be upgraded for the size and price of the Hotel it was very small. Restaurant food and bar is good. Parking is a challenge but manageable. Overall good.

We had our wedding here in April. We knew we were in excellent care with Karina, Carmel and gang as my sister also had her wedding here. I hadn't a clue what I wanted, met with Karina and that all changed, she had amazing ideas she really knows her stuff The day of the wedding went fantastic, great atmosphere, staff so friendly they couldn't do enough. Dinner was out of this world. Guests are still commenting on the quality and the amount of food they got and staff went around offering 2nd helpings. In all honesty, it was the best day and its all down to Karina Duffy, Carmel and all staff of the Clayton Hotel Galway. 10 stars from us, thanks again,

Very comfortable beds and the pillows are wonderful. With a bad back and neck problems like I have, this really matters. Staff were fabulous, I don't say that lightly. Food was average in the Bar. Hotel was clean and quiet. Enjoyed my brief stay. Definitely would stay again.

Reception staff was friendly, room decent enough, restaurant (bar) bad… I've waited 15 minutes until one of the waiters bothered to came over to bring me the food menu… food was good though…

Service was good but the rooms were just ok. I'd say more of a 3 star than a 4 star — even by European standards. The halls were dirty, the kettle in the room looked like it had never been rinsed and there are no face cloths. Our room door also required special sequence of steps in order to actually close (slam + push + butt bump to close — then pull handle to make sure it ACTUALLY CLOSED). Breakfast was good and the main lobby is pretty. There was a wedding going on when we arrived and the reception is in the main lobby which was kind of odd but fun.

Have to say was very disappointed overall. We were given a basic room even though we were staying for 4 nights for a wedding. Others in group got balcony room and they only stayed 1 night. Some staff were great, some not so. No residents bar which everyone was most surprised about. Irons in room were net to useless. Pity about it all because we were expecting so much more.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a wedding and the first night we were moved rooms due to a plumbing problem they promised to move our things out of the faulty room, in the process they missed placed our passports and on top of that they issued a drunk naked man a key to our room where my girlfriend and I were fast asleep! Would steer clear of you have young children or are worried about your safety and security!

Nicest hotel on outskirts of Galway city. Great wedding venue and great for business lunches and meetings over coffee (free Wi-Fi is great)

I stayed here fri 20/4/18 for two nights for my sister's wedding. From the time of arrival to leaving, this hotel and staff are just fabulous, The staff are genuinely lovely and will bend over backwards to make sure your stay is one you will remember the rooms are huge, clean and just amazing. My daughter had so much fun in the pool. Everyone that stayed for the weekend are still going on about how amazing the hotel is. I am so looking forward to booking again.

Persistently is acceptable enough. Only a disgusting faucet and sink for washing in the bathroom.

Lovely hotel to stay in. Friendly helpful staff. Stayed in a family suite/room. Room was a great size, loads of space. Double bed and 2 singles. Pool good but watch busy times as its bit small. Would recommend for family's.

What a fantastic hotel. We had our wedding here on paddys day and it was pure luxury so have to thank them for accommodating us! Where to begin firstly karina is amazing to deal with so easy going and knows her stuff! We walked in not having a clue of anything and didnt know what to expect but she made us feel at ease straight away and felt like we'd be really looked after so thanks! Hotel staff were amazing from start to finish and it really felt like home for two or three days so was sad to leave

Hotel at the top, large room, very friendly staff, breakfast with lots of choice.
The restaurant in the hotel is really good, so do not expect the big kitchen but there are different dishes and they are good. Even with the restaurant well filled we did not wait too long. Feel free to go and eat there.

Nice rooms and bars. Not the perfect location for going into town but a taxi isn't that much and there's a bus stop outside if you're tight.

Excellent swimming lessons. Clare is a professional and dedicated teacher. I see my daughter improving week after week. Highly recommended.

Came here a few years ago and remember exceptional service. Very nice rooms, friendly staff and reasonable rates. The bar food was okay, not GREAT compared to other spots in the area, but it wasn't horrible either. Would recommend if you're looking for a clean, safe hotel.

Not bad but we found a lot of noise in the hotel because of a party that we weren't warned about. Away from the center.

Good business location with typical bar food. Ideal for midweek break for business or family as very close to end of motorway. A little bit out from the city for weekend trippers and can b choked with traffic at midweek peak times.

Always a pleasure to stay at Clayton Hotel in Galway. Located just a few minutes off the motorway it has plenty of parking. Rooms and facilities are excellent but its greatest asset is its excellent staff.

We stayed here again for another wedding. The rooms were extremely comfortable, the bed is one of the best ever. From the moment of our arrival to our departure it was all very smooth, accommodating and a very satisfactory stay.

Stayed here for two nights. There’s a bus stop just outside which takes you directly to the city in 20 Minutes. Hotel staff very friendly. The bar had a nice atmosphere. Pool closed at nine, which seemed quite early so we didn’t have time to go to the leisure centre but a lovely hotel in general.

My wife and I were planning our Civil Wedding for 10th Nov 2017 and thankfully chose the Clayton Hotel. We had an initial meeting with Karina Duffy explaining our needs for 30 guests. We selected our package and from that point on Karina and her team took charge. We were kept Up-to-date with everything regarding our special day and were treated as if we had 400 guests. On the day itself, the ceremony room was laid out beautifully, the food was excellent and the guest rooms especially the Presidential Suite offered to Bride & Groom was breath-taking.
The Clayton Hotel staff ensured a seamless transition from beginning to end and were on hand throughout. I can't speak highly enough about Karina, her team and the hotel staff who made our special day truly special. For any couple planning a Civil Wedding, all our guests walked away with an amazing experience. I would recommend the Clayton Hotel Galway to anyone because our Wedding Day was absolutely fantastic.

I stayed at the Clayton for a friends wedding on Saturday the 21st of October. My friends and I were checked in so quickly and in our room all within 10 minutes. Our room was fantastic with two large double beds and a lovely seating area. Lots of treats in the room to keep us going until we had dinner. The wedding food was amazing and all the staff from the moment we arrived until we left were so helpful and friendly. The beds were extremely comfortable and we didn't want to get up and leave the following morning. I can not wait to come back and stay in the Clayton hotel, every time it is a wonderful experience.

Comfortable environment, qualified staff, excellent hygiene, comfortable underground parking.

Stayed here for a hen and would recommend. We did a cocktail class in the hotel which was good. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was good and the rooms are lovely. It's about a five minute taxi drive into Galway city.

To avoid during the weekends:
2 Weddings and martial Art championship in 3 days, far too much passage and animation in the hallways and rooms around the whole night… Unable to rest properly.

Somewhat outside the city centre but bus stop across from hotel made it very easy to travel to down town Galway. Lovely room, but poor view of parking lot/shopping centre across the street. Good selection for breakfast.

The recommend strongly is absolutely anonymous away from downtown with a ridiculous pool breakfast then it's nothing special.

A fantastic hotel in many places of view.

The hotel is beautiful, clean and friendly staff. Everything you need is available. We would recommend the Clayton Galway to everyone. My uncle who is 86 yrs home from USA found that his car wouldn't start in the morning, staff got jump leads and were so helpful and kind to him. We were attending a nieces wedding the day previous.

A little out of the way but very nice, worth it.

Dirty and stained floor in the room, very sparse and bare room, dim and unlit hallways, not comfortable bed, and one bed did not even have the sheets cleaned. Called the front desk for a bottle opener — they didn't have one available and refused to help — they hung up on me. Overall, very disappointing hotel, and I would say this is comparable to a 1.5 or 2 star hotel. If it was priced like a 2 star hotel, the experience and quality of stay may be passable. But for a 4 star hotel? Not worth it. Do not recommend.

Rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious with good facilities. The beds are comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. The choice of food for breakfast Is excellent and service is very good.

Reception staff were friendly but did not mention when we were checking in that our room was an adjoining room. There were wet bleach (or some other cleaning product) stains on the carpet in our room that damaged our luggage. Our room was big and the bed was comfortable. There were no face cloths, body lotions or bottled water in the room which was disappointing for a 4 star hotel. There was a good selection of foods to choose from at breakfast but the food was cold. The breakfast staff were rude and unapproachable, we were not asked on either morning if we wanted tea or coffee. We ate in the bistro on Saturday evening, it was very quiet but we were still waiting 30 mins from when we ordered our food. The food was disappointing and expensive, not the quality you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Overall a disappointing stay. Very expensive for the quality offered.

We had a lovely family room, 253, with balcony. The sweets for the kids were a lovely touch. Food was great, leisure centre was loved. Staff lovely, girls loved the kids club. The only fault was the weather :-)

To be a 4 star I expected a little more. The food is not bad.

Friendly front desk and large modern rooms. Garage parking is an added benefit as well. Bar staff could use some help recognizing who they're serving.

The Hotel I can only recommend, nice rooms, super nice staff. It should lay me in the Going, I'm going to stay, guaranteed. Was a great time.

We stayed 2 nights here during our honeymoon. Upon check in we got upgraded to a suite which was a nice surprise. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was amazing with a huge walk in shower and overhead shower feature. The room also had air conditioning which helped keep is cool when the weather outside heated up. Breakfast was not included but was 10 euros for all you can eat hot and cold items. Wait staff service was lacking but that seemed to be the standard around Ireland.

Absolutely wonderful breakfast! So many choices and their pastries delicious! Clean modern room, plenty of parking. Full health spa facilities, but did not get to use. Great value, close to town. Across from small shopping area.

We have stayed here on several occasions and have always been impressed with the hotel, however this time was some what different. On Saturday morning during breakfast, the staff all seemed to be in a daze and took a while to even notice that we had sat down, on proceeding to have a cooked breakfast, the food was luke warm at best served on cold plates! I have never understood why hotels do this? I also disagree that the breakfast is buffet style rather than have a cooked breakfast when an order is placed. People pay good money to stay at hotels and should not have to accept lower standards. I have stayed at lower rated hotels and received a better quality of breakfast, cooked to order and served on warm plates. That being said the rest of our stay was good. I hope you will address this and up the standards of the breakfast menu.

I attended for a wedding which was most enjoyable, lovely meal, stayed over night, room very nice and comfortable, lovely choice of food for breakfast, would recommend for a stay any time, and very nice helpful staff.

We stayed for the weekend with our young son and overall had a very pleasant experience and will stay again. Our room was very nice, bedding and bathroom superb. Pool was lovely and warm, person on reception in the gym was very helpful as was the staff member who showed us the way (guy with a very deep voice). The food in the bar was excellent and I commend you on the stunning kids meals — good quality food for €5 for a main course. So overall a very pleasant stay. Couple of minor observations 1. Some of the young staff serving in the bar on sat afternoon could be more attentive, they were pleasant once you got their attention 2. At check out on sun morning at 10 there was just one staff member — I was in the queue behind a lady who was settling a bill for 42 people and had some queries. I waited about 10 mins and left. The lady on check in had preapproved my card so presumably you have charged my card. I assume there would have been a lot of people checking out on Sunday morning, so should have been more on and in the interest of good customers relations surely anybody who is settling a bills in the thousands should be bought into an office, with some water or tea rather than querying it in the lobby? I loved the entertainment in the bar the night I went down — — a duo (Martin and Nessa? ) did a lot of 60's and 70's folk and Americana — — not what I expected, but they were very good. The room was excellent, the location was good, the staff were very friendly. Thanks.

Absolutely perfect hotel. Nice, clean room with enough space. The appearance of the hotel lobby is very nice. The breakfast room is large & bright and the breakfast is really absolutely nothing to be desired. The hotel is located just outside of Galway, but within 5-10 it is minutes in the Centre. I can really only recommend this hotel!

It was a plesent stay with great and friendly staff.

I was horrified to see the Clayton Hotel align with Tom Duffy's circus for an advertising opportunity in the business section of this weeks Galway Independent. As is well known, circuses who use animals are now thought of as being a thing of the past due to all of the ethical questions involved. This should not need to be pointed out to anyone in this day and age. I will certainly never visit the Clayton again and will be urging my friends, family and clients to do the same.

Just above average hotel located near business park. Rooms are typical with just one complaint. The water is chlorinated (treated). Since I had stayed for one month, I had to suffer a significant hair loss. A tourist stay of 2-3 days would not mind this point. But that's a certain NO-NO. Food is Good. Service is Good. Overall, for galway, this is okay place to stay with a budget of around 100 Euros per night.

Nice new hotel, good value.
