When choosing hotels for Booking before traveling to Iraq, I was surprised at the lack of cheap alternatives. This hotel was one of the cheapest options in its relative proximity to the city center. 50 USD. Later, in Baghdad, I became convinced that there are a lot of cheaper options in the city, but they are usually in poor condition, without repairs, with toilets in the floor, etc. So my first hotel in Baghdad turned out to be quite good by local standards. A good location near the Tigris Embankment, which is very lively in the evenings. 500 meters to Liberation Square. The room is clean.
The manager is so extremely rude and very entitled I would not recommend this to solo travellers or even to travellers alone! These guys accepted my reservation and DECLINED the reservation as soon as I landed!
Manager literally said word for word: “it’s my hotel and I can do what I want”

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
Firstly, they tried ripping me off with the booking. Com charging extra from what was booked which I suspect is because they don't want to pay booking. Com their commission. I've already complained to booking. Com of their nefarious practices. Expect to pay 10% to 15% extra if you pay at the hotel. I had to cancel my booking. Com reservation in order to get the correct price. Total scam.
Secondly, the receptionist has 0 customer service skills and its like speaking to an undertaker, zero communication skills and everything is awkward with him, he wouldn't help with anything and was insistent on charging extra because of my reservations price with booking. Com.
Thirdly, the rooms are not clean, I found the bed sheets to be not clean and have even added a video and photos here as no doubt the hotel will dispute my claims.
Furthermore, their is only 1 plug socket which is ridiculous so you have to unplug the fridge in order to charge your phone. The shower also lacks any door or curtain so water goes everywhere on the floor.
If you want a decent hotel, avoid this place like the plague and don't be misguided by booking. Com prices.
