Bukit Lawang Hotels

Sam’s bungalow hôtel is a very good place to sleep at bukit lawang.
The host are very welcoming, and friendly.
We sang song with us that’s was incredible.

Loved our stay at Sam’s Bungalows! Super friendly staff, free breakfast right on the river in the morning (so cool to watch the monkeys while eating), and just an awesome Bukit Lawang vibe overall.

We think it's the best Hotel in Bukit Lawang. The location is incredible, in front of the jungle, really quiet.
We also booked a jungle trekking.

We started our trip to Indonesia here (then Java and Bali) and we all agree—it was the best part of the trip. The accommodation is really far away from the actual “town.

This guest house is certainly a gem in the jungle right next to the Bohorok riverbend.

Great place to stay in Bukit Lawang!

We had an excellent stay at Thomas’ Retreat. The two-day trek was outstanding. Our guides spoke good English and were extremely knowledgeable. The food on the trek was outstanding! 10/10 experience.

The jungel tour we booked with thomas retreat was great, the guides could tell us a lot of interesting facts about the jungel. We had the feeling that they are respecting the animals and the jungel.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel.
The penthouse rooms were comfortable.

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Orangutan.

Fadill was welcoming and able to make any arrangements we needed.

Pros: Very reasonably priced, nice outside space with table and chairs to watch the evening roll in, near the river and shops, not far from various activities, room is secure and has a fan, the bed

We had a great time at this hotel in Bukit Lawang! The location is excellent – right by the river and close to the jungle.

Genuinely unreal place and unreal service. The food is also absolutely amazing. We did the jungle trek and they provided us with one of the best humans we have ever met called Eddy. Highly recommend.

We didn’t stay at the hotel, but we chose to do the jungle trek with them and it was an absolutely amazing experience, with no disappointment at all.

If you are going to Bukit Lawang I cannot recommend this accomodation enough. The rooms are comfy and and very clean. The location was fantastic right in the heart of the town next to the river.

Great experience staying here, it’s a simple place, very clean and hospitable. I felt safe as a solo woman traveller and the food is great too. Run by a family of women! Support this local business.

Family run hotel. Rooms weren’t great but not bad for the price you pay. As usual, no hot water. The only real negative, they had workers finishing up more rooms next to us, a bit noisy.

Happened across Lawang Inn restaurant looking for some local flavours. Chicken Lawang and Ikan Terik with eggplant & anchovy both delicious & spiced to your liking.

Amazing little homestay run by the nicest family. They accept you in as family. Food was 10/10. Please get the semur curry. It’s exactly what you need after a few days trekking.

I arrived sick to Bukit Lawang and the kind people helped me to feel better. I even got given a lift to buy medicine nearby.

I had the best experience here with Ida.
I stayed here for three nights plus two night, three days on a trek in the jungle. We saw so many orangutans, baboons, Thomas monkeys and Gibbon monkeys.

Really nice accommodation. The room was spacious and the bed was very big and comfortable. It had mosquito nets that covered the whole bed comfortably. The bathroom was also spacious (no hot water).

We started off our journey on Sumatra in this homestay and it was the best start we could wish for! This family owned place is so cosy and the hosts are amazing and caring.

Had such an amazing experience here, I would highly recommend to anyone coming to Bukit Lawang.

We love the atmosphere and the ambience. The view is just incredible, overlooking the town. Suria and his team is just great. I highly recommend the place.
