The mattress and pillows were soft and bouncy, which was nice. But the bedsheet, pillow cases, and blanket didn't look clean. They had an odd odor. There was a hole from a cigarette bud on one side of the bedsheet. I ended up spreading my own bedsheet and pillow cases—same thing with the towel. Luckily, I brought a towel with me.
Spiderwebs were found at the corners of the bedroom and bathroom. There was also a spiderweb on the clothes hook in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, the shower was heavily rusted, and the water current was rather weak. It required some patience to wash long hair. Luckily, Surabaya isn't cold.
I brought my own electric kettle. On the first day, there was no issue. On the second day, every time I switched on my electric kettle, the electricity in my room would turn off. I found out that each room has its own electricity panel. While the other panels were on, mine was off. So switched mine on, returned to the room, and the lights were on. I plugged my electric kettle back in, and a minute later, the electricity went off again. I went back and forth to the electricity panel 5 times, and then gave up. From that time on, every time I needed to use my electric kettle, I would turn off the air conditioner. Problem solved. The landlady said that it should be fine turning both on, and (she said) she didn't know what was wrong.
The faucet above the kitchen sink (Yes, there's a kitchen sink in the room. ) was poorly installed.
