This hostel was special. The staff working there were the highlight: Olivia, Aisyah, Lisa and one more Staff were particularly kind. They helped me a lot because I just came back from hiking a tall mountain nearby and I was hurt. I could not walk, tired and just not able to walk the stairs up and down fast. They helped me, carried my backpack upstairs. They also explained me about Malang and nearby attractions and answered all my questions really. They helped me arrange a guided Bromo tour as well so I could rest. They were really kind and empathetic.
Besides the service, room and bathroom were really clean. You can tell this hostel has a great system. The room also has a large window looking out to the roof of the house complex. You won’t regret booking this hostel.
Exceptional. Loved my stay at Zzz hostel Malang. I absolutely owe my incredible experience to the stuff who went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. Fadgi was just amazing! He welcomed me on my first day and was so professional and super friendly, gave me lots of recommendations for food, he spoke amazing English too. Helped me to book my bus to Jakarta. Super! Lynda and Lea and Olivia the most organised, professional and caring people! Thank you for making me feel at home and for caring for me. These guys are amazing at their job and truly care about their guests and want the best for them! They even drove me to catch my bus because the grab drivers kept cancelling on me and because of them I made it on time! Legends!
The space is perfect, clean and the common areas are super modern and welcoming. Communication was superb from the moment I booked in. I even extended one extra day.
Best hostel experience so far. It felt like a home away from home cosy, caring and super welcoming.

This is a nice budget friendly hostel a ways out within Malang city. They dont have AC but the building stays cool throughout the day. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they also helped organize my Tumpak Sewu and Bromo tour. The upper bathrooms and showers are relatively clean, dont recommend use of the ground floor one. They also have a water dispenser and free tea and coffee as well as cooking amenities. The single room was a bit old but the bed was v comfortable and the fan strong. A big plus are the resident cats which are super sweet and friendly! It is relatively social though a bit empty in between which is normal considering Malang is generally a ‘stop’ for ppl doing Bromo. Note: If you’re a light sleeper it may not be the best location for you as the call to prayers start v early and are loud.
