Griya Backpacker Pak yon

This is the best place in malang. This is like a family house and riki is amazing and his mother is amzing to and good coking. Greetings from Argentina. I love this house for backpackers.

This is more a family homestay so if you’d like to see how people live, this is a great option. We didn’t get to meet Rigky but his mum was welcoming and lovely. She cooked us breakfast and was very hospitable despite her limited English. We booked this accommodation based on reviews and pictures and in the interest of transparency for the future it is not as it seems. Sure it was a cheap option, and you get what you pay for. Let me explain. Firstly, there is no signage to Griya Backpacker Pak Yon. It is in a residential street. The house was big but if you are inflexible with cleanliness it will distress you. We didn’t find any bedbugs 👍🏼, but the place needed a good sweep out. This caused my husband much angst and he chose to sleep elsewhere for the night. The bathroom is a mandi style toilet and shower was cold (I’m not sure if we needed to wait for the hot water to reheat)? All this did not concern me or my young adult children and we had a restful sleep. I have posted photos of the house FYI. The photos on the website are Rigky taking tourists around town and none of the photos really depict the true nature of the homestay.

I had a great time at Griya Backpacker Pak Yon.
I really enjoyed this experience immersed in an authentic and typical local atmosphere.
Rigki is such a caring and helpful host. He's constantly struggling to make sure you feel comfortable and your stay will be as memorable as possible.
He showed me wonderful sightseeing spots in and around Malang area.
Everything has been perfect.
