KOPIKUIN bromo homestay

My friend and I stayed at Kopikuin for one day. The room was spacious and comfortable. We really like the vibes at the homestay. Mr Renno hosted us and also happened to be our local guide for our Mount Bromo hike. He was able to communicate in English and shared some stories of Mount Bromo with us. He ensured our safety during the hike.

Great location for a Bromo ascent. Comfy king sized bed. No hot water in showers. Basic toast & egg for breakfast. Option to rent a decent coat for a good price.
HOWEVER,
I left my birkinstocks outside the room while off on the Bromo tour to later come back to just one remaining. Told the staff what had happened and they said that it would have been a dog that would have taken it. This is obviously not their fault however the staffs response was not up to par. They didn’t seem to care at all and just smiled as if I was joking around. Some pre-warning about not leaving belongings outside would have been helpful and them to actually be considerate and show some decency to do something about the missing item not just imply it’s my issue and wait for me to leave.

Room was great very spacious and clean. Bedroom was quiet spacious and water temperature was perfect.
The only drawback was that there was very loud music until about 1 am in the morning and we had to wait up for a tour at 3am which we did not get enough sleep cause of the music.
Breakfast was just bread with egg and blueberry jam with some bananas.
I am a vegetarian (no eggs, no meat, no fish) so I requested for the staff to give me a new set of breakfast since they put the eggs on the bread, however they just removed the egg from top of the break and have me the same one to eat (Which I did not).

We stayed the night before we went to Mount Bromo. Good starting point for the tour. The room was clean and the place had a nice view.

Traditional house building in Bromo. There is farmland and mountains nearby. It’s very quiet and chill. They provide the kitchen, outside garden and beverage Sales Department.

Great value for your money. Don’t expect to be seating front row for the excellent prices, but a great place to explore Bromo. We did this with our scooter which was a 30-45 min ride to the top.

Lights didn't work in the bathroom. Showering in the dark like a hobo. Service is curt, their self-service "kitchen" is almost always out of supplies.

We had the best stay with Eko at KopiKuin. The locations is beautiful and the rooms nice and comfortable.
You feel totally at home. It’s our top Homestay / Hotel in Indonesia!
Eko runs a super Bromo Vulcano tour with the cool 1970 Toyota Jeeps.
Would 100% recommend!

Take the evening tour instead of sunrise. Much better and nobody up on the viewpoints…

Admittedly I had high expectations with the rating, but was somewhat let down.
The location is good, although not much to do other than the sunrise tour of Bromo. We had a walk in the neighborhood which was fine, but nothing much to see.
Rooms are ok, bed is squeaky and no fan/AC. Bathroom had a small hole in wall, so if noisy guests could pose a problem.
Food was not great. The dinner was promised vegetarian (girlfriend and I are vegetarian), however came with a lot of chicken in it. Apologies were given, but be aware of this if similar food preferences. Breakfast was two loafs of white bread with two eggs, some fruit and abit of tempeh — not bad, but not great either.
There was a small kitchen for coffee and tea which was fine. The staff was also friendly with no complaints in that department.
Rooms were also very affordable, therefore compensating for some of the above.
In sum, I would say this place is bang on average, consequently the rating.

We stayed here only for one night, but the place is just perfect.
Due to the cancellation of our Bromo tour, we had to look for something else and we came across this homestay. The owner responded quickly and arranged everything for us: a taxi from the train station to the homestay, dinner & breakfast, the Bromo tour, a taxi to the train station, and tickets for the train. The rooms are big and clean, and there is space to sit outside. The food at the homestay is good and well priced.
The only point of improvement is the bed, which creaks when you turn over. But it is not too bad.

I really enjoyed my stay here, it has been the best accommodation of my Java trip so far.
The room is very spacious, very clean and the bathroom was lovely with a really hot shower 😍
It is located about 30 minutes drive on motorbike from Bromo. They offer motorbike rental which was quite expensive at 250000 per day but the bike was good quality.
It is a really lovely place to stay with a kitchen as well.
My only complaint would be that the walls seemed to be really thin, not noise-proof at all. We luckily have a white noise machine and earplugs but without we may not have slept that well especially in the morning/day time.

Had 2 wonderful nights here at kopikuin with my family, the vibes is so calming, nice accomodation, great hospitality. Specially mas Eko him self serving guest with kind heart and helpful. Keep the good hospitality and customer service.

The place itself is really nice, the staff also! And I recommend the food, just the waiting time can be long.
But our main reason to stay there was visiting the Bromo for the sunrise, therefore we wanted to go to sleep early and wake up at 3 am.
But in our room there were door to somewhere (probably to another room). Through that door, we could hear everything happening in the other room… Not the best, when You try to sleep early. First we couldn't sleep till 10PM. Then we were woken up at 1AM, because the other guests were going to bromo earlier. So 3, 5/5 stars would be my rating.

Very nice homestay to visit Mount Bromo from. Wifi works, hot water and nice rooms.

I had a pleasant stay at this homestay. The view from the property was impressive, and the rooms were consistently clean. It was convenient to reach Mount Bromo by car or scooter, with a 40-minute travel time. The owner was helpful in arranging scooter rental and transportation.
The staff was really friendly and welcoming. The food provided was good, and the location itself was peaceful. Warm water was available, ensuring a comfortable stay. Although there was a power outage, the staff promptly resolved the issue. Overall, it's a great choice for those looking for proximity to Mount Bromo and a calm atmosphere.

Positive: Perfect place for staging place to chase a sunrise in Bromo as you'll woken up by Muslims call for prey at 03:00 that's means your time to wake up and go to Bromo.
Negative: smell of cow drunk pretty strong and chicken coops behind the accomodations.
The Veranda hasn't been clean (full of dust) as well as our rooms.
Building project going on all day as it's a new accomodations.
