Gubuk Ndeso Bromo

The location is great, near indo mart, restaurant and hill side cafe. The room is good for short stay and people with a budget. The only issue is the hot water, too hard to control. It could be too hot or too cold.

Very nice hotel in the bromo area. The location and rooms are awesome, but what shined the most were the people. They did everything to make our trip as enjoyable as possible. Even sending us stuff we forgot at the room without extra charge, just out of kindness.
Would really recommend this place.

The staff is great. They organized a private tour to bromo and everything was well arranged! The overall appearance of the home stay is good. The room we stayed in was a bit basic, but sufficient.

Guesthouse is super place to stay. Not so far from Bromo National Park about 40min by car. Quiet place with everything you need. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They can arrange for you trips you would like to go for and transfers in reasonable prices.
I highly reccommend the place.

The room is nice with basic amenities. Not big. We had double bed room, it is just nice for the 2 of us. Super friendly and humble staff. Super nice environment. They have a small pantry, to boil water and make light drinks. Cold place, nice to chill around. Had a night before heading to bromo, wish to spend more nights here. Will definitely come again.

A great place to stay before your trip to Bromo. The rooms are clean and everything worked well. We booked our Bromo trip through the hotel and our “guide” wasn’t the best. I’d recommend booking elsewhere. It’s a nice place to stay.

Rooms hv no ac just a fan, it’s doable at night but in the afternoon it’s hot n u really need ac. There’s no windows just the sliding glass door n the shower drain hole was blocked n took a while to drain. Bed was comfortable n bfast was simple. I think thy r planning on opening a restaurant so v had to cross the road to find food specially dinner. Stayed short while by 1am v made our way to meet up w our jeep thn head to King Kong hill n freeze our balls for at least 3 hrs just for sunrise at 5.30am. Bck to hotel n v had to chk out by 12pm b4 heading to our nxt destination.

This is a really nice homestay. I stayed here for one night for my trip to Mount Bromo. The views from outside is beautiful. The room I stayed didn’t have any air conditioning as it is not needed because the temperature is very low. There is fan in the room. The room spacious and clean. The bathroom had hot water and a hair dryer. The room had a TV with multiple channels and had multiple electric plug points to charge your phones, laptops, batteries etc. They offer breakfast either with fried rice or with bread.

Lovely family run business. Cute little houses for two. Very clean, great service, small coffee kitchen. All the people extraordinary helpful. Good starting point to reach the Bromo. No need to book a more expensive hotel. Highly recommended.

We had one night here whilst visiting Mt Bromo. The hotel itself was very clean and we had a lovely view from our balcony looking over the hillside in front of us. The breakfast included was pretty basic but apart from that our stay was very good.

No A/C provided because the weather is cold enough at night. The bathroom is provided with hot water and a hair dryer. The air circulation in the room is not really good and has some slight smell from the toilet. They provided space for having early breakfast close to the room, the hotel breakfast will be served after back from the Sunrise jeep tour.

Nice Homestay — great for bromo tours (our private jeep tour was 1m IDR for 2 people)
Nice location, spacious and clean rooms.
Only main downsides:
— located near a mosque loud speaker.
— poor breakfast (boiled eggs)
— small bath towels (the size of hand towels)

Good place for a one night stay especially if you wanna visit Mount Bromo the next morning. Don't expect too much, its a budget room so there are no any sort of luxuries in there. Great view and the staffs are very nice.

Stayed overnight at the Gubug Ndeso home stay while on a larger trip of eastern Java. We got placed in the family room a couple of floors above reception.
Pros.
— Room was comfortable enough. Bed was ok. Didn’t have air conditioning but had a portable unit. Luckily it’s pretty cool at this altitude anyway.
— Staff were very friendly as we find is the norm in Indonesia.
— They served us breakfast in our room and it was good.
— Room was clean.
Cons.
— Wifi wasn’t the best. Did connect but quite slow.
— The lock to our screen door leading to a communal patio was broken and so could be forced open if someone wanted to get in.
— They are building something next door so there is a bit of noise from the construction.
— Hot water worked but it kind of went from lava hot to freezing cold.
Overall given most people’s itineraries in this area are to stay overnight, visit bromo and move on it’s a reasonable option for a budget conscious traveller. It isn’t however a place you would necessarily want to linger.

This homestay was lovely — we chose this place specifically for one night so that we could go to Bromo and it was in a great place for that. The staff helped us book with someone for that excursion and it was super easy. We liked that we were able to pay by card too, which was a bonus. The place itself is placed in a lovely setting. We were able to order food for the night from a nearby restaurant and it was easy for them to find us. The breakfast was nice too — the staff were super nice during all of our interactions as well.
The bathroom could do with a bit of love I think. There was a cat that needed a lot of love and cleaning, we sure hope the hotel can look after it.
Good for a short stay I'd say.

It was a good and pleasant stay. Clean room, clean bathroom. Basic room but sufficient for a night's stay before heading to Mt Bromo. There's a small common kitchen with coffee tea facilities and filtered water. We had dinner at the little shack down the driveway — again basic but cheap. Breakfast (a choice of Asian or Western) was served when we came back from Bromo. Overall, a decent stay!

We stayed for a night and the next morning we went to Bromo. The hosts were so polite and they gave us the breakfast after we returned from Bromo. The location is very good and the view is astonishing. Only 35min from Bromo parking area. Again… very nice people and a five star service. The room and the bathroom were clean and tidy. The village is very beautiful and the people are very nice and they just give you their smiles. Recommend to be with a scooter so you can get around with the locals and cruise on these scenery roads.
PS: At the entrance of the hotel there is one small restaurant at the right. Super delicious traditional food.
