Absolutely stunning hotel. Both the common areas and the (extremely spacious) rooms are very stylish. Classic, Dutch colonial theme but everything still feels fresh and contemporary. Breakfasts are bountiful. Staff are lovely. Incredible value.

Everything was impeccably clean from the moment I walked in. The design and concept are modern, stylish, and thoughtfully curated, giving the hotel a unique charm that really stands out.
Beds were super comfy, had some of the best sleep I’ve had in a while. Staff were incredibly responsive and helpful with anything I needed. Would definitely come back!

Nice old colonial style hotel.
Room is nicely renovated, decorated in classic bedroom style.
Separate amenities, shower and toilet.
Need to provide softer pillow. Both pillows are big and on medium hard side.
Restaurant setup is nice as well but they need to improve the foods, especially the pastries.
Afternoon tea was nice. Teas are special blend type.
Recommended to take Wedang Uwuh and Goreng Pisang.
Nice ambient beside swimming pool.

I had a truly wonderful stay at Mahalaya Hotel. The spacious room, inviting pool, impeccable cleanliness, and, above all, the outstanding service from the staff deserve the highest praise. Please extend my heartfelt regards to the team — they did an exceptional job in delivering the signature excellence of Mahalaya Hotel. The breakfast was various and delicious, and we got afternoon tea during our stay. I will most certainly choose to stay here again on my next visit to Solo.
As for a small suggestion, it would be wonderful if the pool area could be designated as a non-smoking zone. It was a bit uncomfortable to breathe while swimming when another guest was smoking nearby.

The room is very spacious as well as the bathroom. The bed is comfy, and there's a sizeable counter for making tea and coffee. The only downside is that there's not enough storage. The location is walking distance from the train station, but it's close to the hustling and busting of a traditional market. So it's a very different world to step outside. The hotel spa is very nice as well as the breakfast.

Beautiful building in the middle of Surakarta. I loved how they decorated the lobby with colonial style. The breakfast was amazing and plentiful choices. The pool was a great place to chill after a long day.
The only thing I can suggest is to spruce up the decoration in the rooms. It feels bland and didn't give the same impact as coming into the lobby.

Mahalaya The Legacy Hotel offers a beautiful blend of modern comfort and Indo-Dutch colonial style. The room and bed are impressively spacious, definitely among the largest I’ve experienced, and the bathroom is clean and well-designed. We stayed in a connecting room, which was perfect for families. The location is very strategic, making it easy to explore the city.
The only downside is the small gym and pool, which feel limited compared to the hotel’s overall generous and elegant atmosphere. Still, it’s an excellent choice for those who appreciate space, cleanliness, and a touch of historic charm.

I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights at Mahalaya during a training event in Solo. While browsing for accommodations on Agoda, Mahalaya immediately caught my attention. Here is my review of the hotel. Disclaimer: I stayed in the Executive Double room.
Pros:
1. Located in the heart of Solo, less than 1 km from Solo Balapan Station and Mangkunegaran Palace.
2. Close to a traditional market (Pasar Legi), Luwes shopping center, and ATMs.
3. A 4-star hotel with adequate facilities, including a bar, restaurant, meeting rooms, swimming pool, gym, and spa.
4. Every corner of the hotel is visually appealing and great for photos.
5. Guests receive not only breakfast but also complimentary afternoon tea by the pool (from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM)
6. Spacious room with classic traditional Javanese design. The room cleanliness is well-maintained, and daily cleaning service is provided.
7. The in-room facilities are complete, including a mini bar, safe, vanity table, hair dryer, toiletries (razor, comb, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower gel), mini fridge, electric kettle, etc.
8. The breakfast menu is very diverse and worth trying.
9. Parking is available for motorcycles (basement) and cars (basement and beside the hotel)
10. Room service is very fast and responsive; I quickly got assistance for borrowing an iron and resetting the safe code.

The rooms are comfortable. Beds are soft enough and linens are great. Grear value. Swimming pool is clean and well maintained with lots of seating in the shade by the bar. Often out of simple things like soft drinks, juices and menu items. Food is particularly inconsistent. Food is often dried out and pastries have clearly been out way too long. On the other hand the baristas are the best, the cappuccino is excellent. The egg guy is great. The rooms are kept spotless, and the staff are all friendly and willing to try to help. We had an extended stay recovering from an injury, and overall, it was an excellent choice. We would go back.

This hotel is a hidden gem for every travelers especially for business people. Mahalaya is a brand new hotel with excellent service at affordable price. They have unique design and good service. They also offer free afternoon tea service for every guest. This something rare. They also have complete facility like pool, spa and.

I had an amazing experience at Mahalaya Hotel. From the warm welcome to the spotless, well-designed rooms, everything was perfect. The facilities were top-notch, the food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. Highly recommend this hotel for a luxurious and hassle-free experience!

This hotel offers a good experience with standard service and provide large, comfortable rooms. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast, which featured a good variety of items to choose from. The only drawbacks are the limited parking spaces, which can be inconvenient, and the nearby traditional market, which has some cleanliness concerns. Hospitality for the staffs in breakfast time still possible to be improved.

I love the simple, clean, and comfy interior design. The hotel is conveniently located near Mangkunegaran Palace and a local market. The staff are friendly, although the security and parking area could use some improvement. The small swimming pool and gym area are nice additions.

Carefull don't me misleaded by the room. The services are terrible. We used the loundry service and some cloths came back dirtyer or just as dirty back. When I took the complaint downstairs the whole staff was laughing even when I said I wanted to file a complaint. In the elevator the two staffmembers where even laughing with eachother. We had a deep tissue massage but there was no deep only tissue, they sell it as a really price high class massage don't sell it when you cannot deliver. I ordered a beer that was out of stock but they said there was another brand beer available, I ended up with some 18% hardlicor instead of a low % beer which they did not refund.
Shame the room is nice but the staff needs to training and revaluation. Sorry means nothing if you can't followup onto it.

Even though it was just one night stay but the experience was really great. Great staffs, great atmosphere, clean room, and a pool to relax, and there's a gym that you can use to burn calories after having the breakfast buffet 😅. When we arrived, we were served with welcome refreshing welcome drinks, after checked in, we got to enjoy the afternoon tea. Wished that we had stayed more nights, but still great experience.
