Overall had a comfortable stay. The room was clean and the staff were polite. I requested an iron to be sent to my room, but was informed that guests need to use the laundry room instead. It wasn’t a big issue, just slightly less convenient. Other than that, everything was pleasant.

I stayed here from 21–23 January 2026 and had a very pleasant experience.
What I really appreciated was the bright room lighting, which made it very comfortable for working and Zoom meetings, something that’s not always easy to find in hotels. The room setup really supports productivity.
Another big plus is the self-service laundry machine. It was super helpful since I got caught in the rain and needed to wash my clothes quickly.
The front office team was extremely helpful, especially when I needed assistance with printing work documents. They were responsive and accommodating, which made my stay much smoother.
Overall, this hotel is a great option for business travelers or workcations who need practical facilities, good lighting, and supportive service. Would definitely consider staying here again when visiting Semarang.

The breakfast menu is quite varied (although not extensive) and tastes good.
The location is close to the Simpang Lima and the Baiturahman Grand Mosque in Semarang.
However, parking space is very limited.

Perfect stay. I was very unwell when I arrived and left a few days later feeling very healthy again. The room was a good size, very clean and had excellent amenities. The service was exceptional — very friendly and responsive. The location is very convenient for getting around town to all of the points of interest. The breakfast was very tasty and it was great that it was available until 10am. Thank you to the team here for a great stay.

Very recommended for stay in the heart of semarang city. Near simpang lima. No swimming pool but the room was insane, clean and wide. Good city view. Breakfast was descent but quite good. Staff was helpfull.

Recently stayed at Holiday Inn Express Semarang Simpang Lima for a business trip and was thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. The hotel's location is absolutely perfect, situated right in the heart of Semarang at the famous Simpang Lima area where everything you need is within walking distance — restaurants, shopping, and local attractions are all easily accessible. For a budget hotel, the value is exceptional with very reasonable pricing that truly delivers more than what you pay for, and despite being in such a busy central location, the hotel manages to maintain a surprisingly quiet and peaceful environment perfect for rest. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, meeting all the Holiday Inn Express standards I expected. My only complaint would be regarding the front desk staff, who weren't particularly friendly and we noticed them whispering among themselves, which made us feel uncomfortable as if we were being talked about behind our backs. However, this minor issue with service didn't overshadow what was otherwise an excellent stay, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for affordable, well-located accommodation in Semarang.

My family and I stayed here overnight to continue our journey the next day. I got a room on a fairly high floor. The room was neat and clean. It was quite spacious and had a right-angled glass wall so it was easy to see the view. The bathroom was clean and a hair dryer was also provided. The hotel location is strategic, close to Simpang Lima. The breakfast menu is standard. Not too many varieties. Maybe the taste of the food could be upgraded. There was also an instant noodle stand for breakfast, but the noodles tasted very salty.

I really like staying here. Cleanliness at this hotel is very important. The location is also very strategic in the Simpang Lima area of ​​Semarang which can be reached by walking 5 minutes from the hotel. My suggestion is that the breakfast variety needs to be increased further so that this hotel is more perfect to fulfill guests' wishes.

Rated 5 — as for the value, the hotel provide quite plenty. Owned by IHG hotel chain, although it’s a 3-star hotel, you can expect an international standard service. The room is clean. The amenities are great (Dove soap and shampoo). The breakfast provided was nice, although you shouldn’t expect for full buffet as in 5 stars hotel.
The location is unbeatable, near Simpang Lima, where Semarang’s main attraction lies.
Tried the gym as well, which is quite good with view of the famous Simpang Lima.
If there’s a complaint, I’m sure it’s regarding the small parking spaces. Made getting in-out of cars a bit tricky and slow. Not to mention of looking for parking spaces if you bring car. But since we hired a driver, we didn’t find it as problem.
Overall, a good stay — considering the price we paid.

The hotel has the basics for a decent hotel stay and combine it with free breakfast, a 24h gym, even a laundry room for guests to their own laundry, it is worth choosing here over other unchained hotels charging equivalent amounts, especially considering you can earn IHG elite credit. That said, don’t expect anything above and beyond which is fine considering its price point and brand positioning.

Start with the front desk. It was a nice experience. Staff was super nice and friendly. Check in was fast, hassle free.
After getting to the room, staff called and checked if I satisfied with the room and offered a better room for better comfort. Really appreciate their exceptional service.
The room itself quite spacious. Quite good soundproofing, clean, and fresh. Including their bathroom was clean, with fresh towels. Complete amenities. Bed was too soft to my preference, but I like that they provide a firm pillows.
Internet speed was just OK. But stable.
Breakfast options were just OK. Not too much options, but the coffee from their espresso machine was quite acceptable to me.
Cannot say much about location, but there’s a cafe across the hotel that was quite nice and served good food and drink.
Price was very on point. I would even say it offers a great deal to what you get. Super nice.
