Not a hotel, and definitely not worth the money. On Saturday evening I made an express booking with my wife for a double room at IDR 350, 000. — (Booking. Com). A large three-floor dormitory for students of UKSW (a prominent Christian university) with no elevator and located in an isolated hilly village with steep narrow roads (dark at night) in Salatiga City, Central Java Province.
There are some benefits though: a sparkly clean three-floor building with a beautiful architecture. We got a spacious bedroom on the second floor with a good working AC, tissue paper, a table with a chair, a good clothes hanger, and used pairs of slippers. The bathroom was clean enough and had a sink with hand wash liquid soap, a used soap bar, very good hot water for shower, and a Western style toilet with a toilet shower jet and toilet paper. Free static bikes for exercise. Friendly and helpful service. A spacious parking yard for motorbikes and cars.
Now for more minuses: no TV, many steps, no elevator, not safe for small children. Slow free Wi-Fi. No musholla (understandable). At night motorbikes must be placed in an elevated parking lot with a steep doorway. No shampoo. No towel on arrival, and we were given two small towels on request but they didn't absorb well. A single bed with a simple bed sheet and a small thin blanket (not a double bed as expected). No trash bin. The shower drain hole was clogged. The next morning it was noisy with loud recorded music.
