We stated 2 nights in what Booking. Com describe as a double room with a mountain view.
Despite having read all the reviews which consistently scored this hotel very highly – I approached this hotel with some trepidation not believing I could have the same experience as described for the cost of the accommodation – 1.5 million INR for 2 nights.
After our experiences there should be no worries.
We arrived after a transfer from Kutoarjo and enquired about lunch – an excellent soup was freshly made and cold beer was supplied and appreciated – we decided after that to have all our meals here – 2 dinners from a simple menu discussed beforehand – the price varied on the size of the meal – 100, 000 IDR each for a “large” meal – 50, 000 IDR for smaller portions — decent breakfasts – a supply of large cold bottles of Bintang.
The room was basically furnished – clean and functional – comfy bed – aircon – small bathroom – shower — acceptable and always hot – large patio doors leading to a small terrace leading directly into a rice paddy about 3 feet below with views of the mountains beyond.
The dining area is under cover again with views across the rice paddies to the mountains beyond with the tops of the nearby Borobudur Temple complex peaking above the trees.
The hotel is located on a quiet road about a 20-minute walk to the “centre” and the gates to the Temple.
We enjoyed our stay – our hosts were incredible and very attentive – with the only issue being on departure their card machine wasn’t working because of problems with the Wi-Fi – so we had to get 2million IDR from the ATM to pay the bill.
We enjoyed our stay – the views are stunning especially at sunrise – and our hosts could not be faulted – recommended — thank you.
