The Amrta Borobudur

The rooms are quite new in the main building, some inconvenience like drain issues are resolved quickly. Breakfast was limited but delicious. The food in the restaurant is quite affordable and delicious (make sure to try the pannacota bubur sumsum) the restaurant closed at 6 tho, so you have to order food online. No elevator but only 2 floors. Near to Borobudur but the entrance is quite small and hidden.

Stayed at this hotel for a night to see the Borobudor temple and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The location was convenient—just about 5mins to the temple! The best part of our stay was friendly and welcoming service from the staff. Everyone was always ready to assist with a smile.
The room was clean and offered basic amenities like air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and a small fridge. The bathroom was functional, but could use some maintenance, especially around the shower area where the water pressure was a bit low.
Breakfast was simple but satisfying, featuring local dishes, toast, fruits, and coffee. While the selection wasn’t extensive, it was fresh and filling.
Overall, it’s a good budget option for travelers who want a decent place to rest without spending too much. A few upgrades in cleanliness and facilities would definitely improve the experience.

Amrta Hotel is strategically located just less than a 10-minute walk from the magnificent Borobudur Temple, making it a convenient choice for travelers who want to explore the UNESCO heritage site early in the morning or during sunset. The hotel’s design is elegant, with a subtle nod to Borobudur’s cultural essence, though I feel it could benefit from more detailed decorations and accessories to truly amplify the Borobudur-inspired ambience. A few more artistic touches, perhaps traditional Javanese carvings or thematic artwork, would elevate the atmosphere.
The swimming pool area is pleasant, but the tiles could be improved—choosing a color palette inspired by Borobudur’s stone (warm earthy tones or soft greys) would add a more sophisticated and elegant look, tying the design closer to its iconic neighbor.
As for dining, the food is very standard—nothing exceptional, just average. While it’s decent enough to fill you up, don’t expect memorable flavors. A bit more attention to local spices and presentation could make a big difference.
On a positive note, the service is good—staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a comfortable stay.

Deluxe room faces rice field. So beautiful along sun rising. It's located to the opposite of Borobudur temple, so you cannot see the temple from far.

The rooms have mold on the walls, dirty bed linen, old furniture.
It’s unpleasant to be in the room, let alone sleep and relax.
It’s clear that the staff is trying, there are no complaints against them.

All good. Junior suite Bhima has an open air bathroom not suitable for Asians I guess. So check before u book. Hot water not so gd. Had to keep on adjusting.

It was a decent hotel. Just that when we arrived, had to ask the staff to change the beddings because it was dirty. Generally a good experience. We got 2 rooms to house me and the missus and our litter. And the rooms had the view of the paddy fields. The paddy fields view and the vicinity to the Borobudur temple takes the cake on this one. Everything else are just details.

The place is quite strategic to reach to Borobudur temple and other tourist spot like Bukit Rhema, Svargabhumi, and Punthuk Setumbu (to catch sunrise). It has ethnic ambience and I got a room with ricefileds view.
However, compared to its price, definitely a lot to improve such as: staff not standby at lobby/receptionist area especially during night hour, the water heather didn't work properly and need quite some time to fix until its ready to use, greyish color towel, a lot of tiny insects on the bed.

Stayed there on April 9, actually only booked 1 night, got cheap price and got a deluxe room, in front of the pool, at that time it seemed we were the only guest, when we saw the room we immediately liked it and immediately added another night, the location is strategic, close to the temple entrance. The staffs were friendly and the breakfast was pretty good even though it was simple, just like staying there like a private villa😘😘😘

The hotel has perfect location with swimming pool in the center of the Guest House. The staff and GM are so friendly and has no hesitate to help us. The food also delicious with Mr. Budi who lead the chef too. Try Oxtail Soup or Oxtail Fried Rice to regain your energy after walk around Borobudur. We stay here on November 2020, so the hotel also follow Covid-19 protocol. I will recommend this guest house for everyone who has plan to stay in Borobudur and desire to enjoy traditional nuances.
For your information, the guest house management has change their course and now become professional as well as comfortable, compare two years before.

Me and my wife just stayed in Amrta Borobudur a few days ago. We were driving and on our way back from Yogya to Jakarta after visiting a family. And we thought staying a night or two in Borobudur area would be nice. We were quite flexible on timing and didnt really have itinerary.
After going around Borobudur area, looking at one hotel to another, we found this small hotel, close to entrance of Borobudur temple and with a great view. My wife checked the review on Tripadvisor and felt its a good hotel for us.
And we really love this hotel. Its quite small; only having around 10 rooms and cottages. But it's strategically located; near Borobudur, not far from small traditional restaurants. And it had padi fields view.
We chose Arjuna room (or shoukd I say cottage? ), which was quite large and had its own terrace facing padi fields. The interior of the room was designed using java traditional style but the amenities were modern. Bathroom was large and hot water ran well. I would just like to suggest that they put glass in the shower instead of curtain.
I was quite amazed with their attention to detail of the building. They also had a lounge with nice view. On one side you could see padi fields, on other side you could see coconut trees, and another side facing nice pool.
We really enjoyed our stay there. The staffs were also very kind and attentive. We would like to thank mas Dani who was very helpfull and cared.
