WOW! I have never experienced anything like this before. The overall experience was like none other with beautiful and serene scenery, animals all around you, extremely welcoming host and staff (who were very passionate about the wildlife), and EXCELLENT food (basically a banquet every meal) prepared on site by an obviously very talented chef! The place also has an interesting history and lots of activities to keep you entertained for days, which the host is happy to organise for you. But expect to be cut off from the rest of the world with no Wi-Fi or reception available, which is barely a downside because it makes the experience even better. We were very lucky to have the whole Lake Palace to ourself due to the monsoon season so that further heightened the experience. Regardless, will definitely visit again (for hopefully a longer period) in the future!

For the most luxurious and blissful experience this is the place to be. Surrounded by nature in all sides and the serenity of the forest is breathtaking. The service is good and food is comforting. If you are lucky you can spot elephant herds and sambar deers which is delight to watch when they are in the wild.

An out of the world experience at this heavenly place… absolute tranquil… 5 star luxury in the midst of the periyar forest… almost a 180 degree view of the forest from this Palace… The staff is absolutely courteous with Anish the manager spearheading the hospitality… Savoured on lip smacking authentic kerala food… Saw an entire sambhar herd, Bisons, from the bungalow… Wild boat was our guest too on the same night… A great place to be… not to be missed.

Munnar is itself beautiful.

It was an absolutely wonderful experience. This place is located inside periyar wildlife sanctuary. We need to take a boat to reach there. The location is magnificent. You will be totally cut off from outside world and you will feel relaxed and peaceful. This resort was the summer palace of travancore king and ktdc has done a magnificent job to keep that old world charm intact. They have very helpful staff who will see to it that you enjoy your vacation.

Nothing can be compared with Lake Palace, Thekkady by KTDC… Oh god… one should experience this beautiful property… recommending strongly…

The stay was really great and so is the ambiance! It's the best place to just hide out as you are totally secluded from the outside world. No signal for any carrier except BSNL and that too occasionally. Wi-Fi is available but is dead slow and not available in the rooms.

Lake Palace,  a former summer palace of the King of Travancore, is situated on an island in the middle of the Periyar Lake — 20 minutes by boat from the mainland. Located inside the Periyar Tiger Reserve, this is where the British Viceroys and Governor-Generals used to take time off from the world to listen to the call of the wild. This lakeside jungle resort with 6 rooms and antique interiors within the Periyar Tiger Reserve is ideal for guests to watch elephant herds playing by the lakeside or take a trek across the jungle in the trail of the majestic tiger. Life couldn’t get any more royal than this.

What a place in middle of tiger reserve. Palace converted into stay. Very helpful staffs, food was awesome. Pleasant stay. Good chance to see wildlife. Boat ride. Best way to spend a day.

If you want peace and quiet then this is a good place. There are only 6 rooms no pool or any other sort of entertainment. The views across the lake were pretty good. The lake is very short of water so we probably didn't see it at its best. The food was good, not up to the standard we were expecting and no choice. Overall slightly underwhelmed and disappointed.

Rate is a bit high. But the quality they provides is really good.

Wonderful place to stay for a getaway from urban areas. Have to take a ferry to reach this place. The resort was actually a resting palace for the kings during earlier times, and the architecture is still intact. The arrangements in the room are made in a way to give a Royal feel. The best part is the view from outside the room. You get to see the back waters, bisons, sambar, wild dogs, wild boars, elephants, etc — Sit back, relax n enjoy the view. We got to see peacock n wild boar within 10 feet from our dining area — exp was amazing. Food is good too. They prepare nice authentic Kerala dishes — veg / non-veg based on your preference. Room 17 offers the best view, but is not worth the extra money. Otherwise, the whole experience is worth every penny that you spend.

Very nice place to stay peacefully. Delicious homemade food but less choice.

A good budget hotel Kumily. It's service is good. Food is also awesome. But the hotel donot has a Wi-Fi connection.
