Man Sagar Lake is an artificial lake situated in Jaipur, the capital of the state of Rajasthan in India. It is named after Raja Man Singh, the then ruler of Amer, who constructed it in c.  1610 by damming the Dravyavati river. The Jal Mahal is situated in the middle of the lake.

Great place to spend time with your mate, friends, family and having fun. Nice scenic beauty for the photoshoots and photographers. Clean environment fresh air. If anyone visits jaipur, he/Shree should visit here too otherwise there is a lot to miss here.

This is the lake with the Jal Mahal in the middle of it. There are people there selling fish food, and it is a fun activity for some to throw that food to the fish and to see them gather around. Most of the water is dirty now, you will spend a maximum of 15 minutes here anyway.

Man sagar lake is on the way to amber place and jaigarh fort, jal Mahal also situated in the middle of the lake — build by kings of amer. There are some walking tracks. Best time to come at evening to see jal mahal and the lake with the lights, it looks awesome. You can click some snap yourself or there are also some professional photographer with some ethnic dress gate up. Street food also available, you will feel a small fair (mela). Experience is nice after returning from jaigarh and amber place.

Jal Mahal  (meaning "Water Palace") is a palace in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, India. The palace and the lake around it were renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber. The Jal Mahal palace is an architectural showcase of the Rajput style of architecture (common in Rajasthan) on a grand scale. The building has a picturesque view of the lake itself but owing to its seclusion from land is equally the focus of a viewpoint from the Man Sagar Dam on the eastern side of the lake in front of the backdrop of the surrounding Nahargarh ("tiger-abode") hills. The palace, built in red sandstone, is a five storied building, of which four floors remain underwater when the lake is full and the top floor is exposed. (1) One rectangular Chhatri on the roof is of the Bengaltype. The chhatris on the four corners are octagonal. The palace had suffered subsidence in the past and also partial seepage (plasterwork and wall damage equivalent to rising damp) due to waterlogging, which have been repaired under a restoration project of the Government of Rajasthan. (2)  The hills surrounding the lake area, towards the north east of Jaipur, have quartzite rock formations (with a thin layer of soil cover), which is part of Aravalli hills range. Rock exposures on the surface in some parts of the project area have also been used for constructing buildings.

Could be kept clean. It's very polluted with a lot of waste lying around. We couldn't go to the palace as it was under renovation.

Now this place is not clean at this time this place is so dirty the man sagar lake was so dirty now and govt is nothing doing for this place this place is now closed to go in the place you can see this place from road you don't have permission to go in this mahal so I wiss you don't visit this place but if you have to do something then you must go there.

Lot of migratory birds can be seen in winters. Now a days water of lake is polluted by draining of untreated sewage water from nalas.

Lunch near the water in Udaipur, the restaurant isn’t the best but the view of this pleasant, calm lake, with an historical residence, it’s a calming relief from the cacophony of city traffic.
