I checked in on 7th july this year,
Raise complaints multiple times to the front desk and got no response.
I was thr for around 6-7 hours and spended 3-4 hours just calling the front desk for air conditioning complaints over and over again,
Things got old I belv at this hotel, and every penny is wasted for me with your stay.
Moreover you spoiled my day.
Will nevee recommend the ashok to anyone and will post the same on your twitter page to let everyone know thw worth that we are getting at The ashok nowadays. Truly waste of money and waste of my time,
Even holiday inn is far far far better in every terms.

None of the day spa options thanks I didn’t come here for that. I recommend not accepting rooms on the 2nd floor they are utterly substandard The valet got me 5th floor suites — excellent!

Breakfast buffet — excellent (eggs 5 ways including Indian), chicken and red wine sausages, pork and beak fast sausages, generous bacon — yes they serve marmalade (big tick from me) vast number of choices — both continental and Indian dishes. I think the chef loves his job here and you get the benefit of it instantly. Tea needs to be served in a tea pot at the table and teaspoons need to be provided, there is an army of wait staff all idle from what I could make out — get them to be more attentive to tables and make sure the salt and pepper sellers are functional and not clogged. I was loathe to tip from the poor table staff, and therefore did not on principle. I will certainly book here again the suites are awesome!

Cockroach in a 5 star hotel, worst stay ever Well if you thought that people serving cockroaches was only in the movies then think again we have been a victim of this hideous act in the very renound the Ashoka. Since then I have been suffering from sever stomach infection. Now this truley represent how much importance this hotel gives to one's hygiene and we as vistors spent hefty amount of money to have a memorable stay and not to be served cockroaches in the breakfast … Hotel buffet breakfast had a cockroach in there spaghetti this is totally uncacceptable for a 5 star hotel like Ashoka. It just shows that how things & hygiene purpose are being neglected. I spent an amount of a 5 star hotel to make myself suffer with a cockroach? This thing has never happen as I travel a lot and stayed at many hotels before. I am really speechless and disappointed. I immediately informed the chef and the manager, they causally apologized and acted very normal as if nothing has happened. Then the chef Vikram and lobby manager Reema tired to please us with chocolates and cookies to which me & friends refused as this is related to our health & the kind of response we received from them was so casual, then they offered us lunch or dinner to make it smooth, we were not convienced to have a stale & unhygienic food again. All we wanted was a written apology letter which was very arrogantly denied to us with a unrealistic reason that GM was not on duty.

Helpful staff at the reception, I forgot the Room number in which my dad was staying and he helped my look. Beautiful views. It would be great if they would have allowed me to park my bike inside. For bike parking, you have to travel away from hotel, behind petrol station.

This place is very neat and clean. The staffs are very helpful. Food is awesome and not very costly. It is one of the beautiful hotel in the town. The location is very approachable from any place either from railway station or from airport. There is a large parking place for both four wheeler and two wheelers. Rooms are very space and you'll will very comfortable.

Hotel is vast and have a beautiful lobby and a good landacape. Room is average. Smart key to the room was not working properly. Bathroom had only hot water. Breakfast has also limited options only. Service should improve.

The hotel that were thieves come from inside. Worst experience ever really I cannot believe it is a five stars hotel that is extremely unsecured as totally unprofessional.
my husband was robbed by the hotel staff it self! (10000 USD) from the room and the money was replaced by 1000 USD.
On 4th of April my husband was a guest in the hotel and he left the room with the money inside and when he reached the airport he found himself been stolen, unfortunately there was no time to come back to the hotel at this time, however he traveled back to hotel and asked about the camera records to find three of the staff (one outside to monitor if anyone is coming and two get inside the room) with no reason as they don’t even clean the room or anything.
The lobby manger saw the records and admitted that this is really weird and promised to solve the situation and investigate his problem.
Then they gave him the GM mail who didn’t reply at all and finally we had a what app message that he don’t want him to message him again!
I don’t know how he dare to tell him so although he is sure that the money was stolen by his staff inside the hotel!

Been a regular customer here. The location and ambience is great. Customer service could be better. Place is clean and other staff are curteous. Food is decent. The rooms are clean and room service is good too.

The staff needs to be trained better.
When we went to the room after lunch we couldn't open. On contacted the reception guy told us that since the original booking time is over it was closed. He agreed to activate access but was unintelligible. Only after contacting the company who booked our room and waiting in lobby for over 10 minutes we could go to the room. We took a walk around the premises in the evening. The huge front lawns were kept surrounded by shabby barricades and …the garden was unkempt. Overall it gives away it's status as a government property High time the management changed.

This property is huge as compared to any other 5 stars in India. Each floor must have approx more than 100 rooms, hence availability should not be an issue. Located in the central Delhi, near embassy enclave this hotel enjoys proximity to lush green patches of the city. Room decor are classy wooden with modern amenities. There are 4/5 restaurants within the hotel vicinity. Being a hotel established in 1950 the service quality has been carried forward, with nothing exceptional to talk about.

The Ashok hotel is located centrally and is easily accessible. The services are good. Ideal for holding conferences and meetings. The accommodation is suitable for foreign delegates as well as invited dignitaries. Banquet halls are well decorated and give a classy look. The overall ambience is excellent.

Rooms are amazing under the budget. Also, the food is good though not too many choices of foods are available. Services are not at par with any other five star hotel. The only plus is amazing room. Suits are Good for business meetings.

Located in the green area of chanakyapuri, the Hotel has seen better days. However, the charm still remains. Fast check-in and check-out. Housekeeping is good. The buffet breakfast spread is good, though the place where it is served is dark and sombre, done up in black, probably a legacy of the bygone era. Needs to be redone brightly.

The hotel has very good rooms, very cozy and warm considering the extreme temperatures at Delhi and the amount of rooms in this hotel is absolutely insane, and I appreciate the hotel management for this. The hotel has three very good restaurants and all three are very good, good taste and very good service and hospitality. The hotel is in a very good location, Chanakyapuri which is a very good place in Delhi and has good connectivity by all forms of transportation. The only regret is the reception, I had to wait for 30 minutes to check in and the receptionist also made a mistake in my check-in and he didn't check-in my co-traveller and I didn't get to know that until the next morning when I went for breakfast, that's when I got to know about it. The other services and quality of the stay there was satisfactory and very good. I would recommend this hotel for any type of travel let it be business, personal.

The stay was very pleasant. Rooms were spacious and clean. The staff is friendly and courteous. The location is very near to Connaught place hence it becomes very easy to explore Delhi. I would recommend this hotel.

Have stayed at the Leela Palace in New Delhi on a number of occasions and have been thoroughly impressed each time. The fact that you are provided with a pillow menu should provide a glimpse of the luxury involved. It might seem odd to recommend a Japanese restaurant located in a hotel in New Delhi but the food at Megu is superb. And throughout my stays, the hotel staff always go out of their way to make my visits as comfortable and hassle-free as possible.

Large rooms, huge area and great location. The breakfast spread was great. But this is a govt run five star hotel. I think this should sum it up but here's some specifics; staff at reception are not polite, no greetings, no apology for keeping you waiting. Checked in in the evening. It was rather cold in the room (Delhi winter). The management refuses to provide a room heater upon request because "all guests are asking".

This is a run down hotel, needs lots n lots of renovation to make it look modern as their current look is of 1960's. Food n banquet though r well maintained. Their Pub is very nice n modern. Rooms r good too.

Hotel interiors and hall ambience was great but when it comes to food quality… it was far less than expectations that one makes in mind after getting into the hotel. Moreover the waiters and service persons were seem to be not bothered about the guest and they were looking less interested and seems a bit unhappy. Like if they are doing jobs forcibly or under extreme pressures, not willingly. We found lack of energy in staff.

One Heritage property operated by government. Property is so expansive an beautifully architectured. It is in the heart of New Delhi. The services & hospitality is low compared to the international & renowned chain of hotels.

It's shameful that this hotel has 5 stars. It's very ill-maintained. The rooms are dull, the views from some of its balconies are bad and there are no basic amenities that you'd expect from a 5-star hotel. It seems like there is cost cutting being done in every department. Plus there are several stores and even a bank right inside the hotel. The pool is well maintained.

At first glance very elegant and beautiful but sobering when you come to the room. Bathroom which is very intertwined, very old electric installed throughout the room, simple wooden door leads from a room directly into the side room and you hear a lot from side by side. The Aschok was certainly a very nice hotel but it dwindles the old splendour. The reception and the chambermaids are very friendly and make every effort to comply with every request. The hotel is located directly on a strasser, but this does not bother to be New Delhi. However, as the hotel is in the immediate vicinity of the embassy district, it is much cleaner and quieter in the area compared to other New Delhi neighborhoods.

One of the older 5 star hotels in Delhi. Rooms were pretty old style. Nice view from the window with lots of tree cover in the surroundings. Quite.

Historic hotel. Centrally located. Huge rooms and great view. Nice gym and pool.

There's an old world charm prevailing. The best part are the huge number of paintings adorning the walls. Loved the inlay work in the restaurant. The lawn is beautiful. The wood works needed renovations. Small details like the bathroom bold should really work. The food is not upto the expectations.

I was here for the ACRS conference. As a delegate, I loved the hotel ambience, the food and everything else. It was a grand experience. The rooms are well maintained and clean.

Good ambiance, loved the food of their Punjabi Dhaba, very delicious and yummy. Loved the interior of the Dhaba and the cutlery which will take you to the 70s or 80s era. Loved the songs being played at the background.

Good hotel with great ambience. I went for a Wedding Asia event which was well organized. But I think it needs some renovation as interiors looked bit old.

The hotel from outside is huge. I've stayed here just for a night so am not sure how good the hotel is. However the room that I got which was in the old block wasn't very pleasant. Dust was d main problem. But I've heard the new block is much better. They said they cannot accommodate me in the new block as some work is going on. So guys if u r planning to stay here, insist on the new block. Cheers!

Very nice Hotel, could not find a fault. Courteous staff. We were a group of Foreign Delegates and Expats and we had lunch buffet at their in house restaurant — The Oudh. Very nice and tastefully done interiors and very nice food. The staff went out of the way to arrange Pasta and sauteed vegetables for a small child that was with us and was not comfortable eating Indian food and did not even charge for it. The dishes were all tastefully done and a delight to eat. Service with a smile. WELL DONE! Highlight for me was the Malpua Rabri. Awesome! Compliments to the Chef!

Magnificent hotel luxury to the most it is situated on a very posh locality of Delhi and the place is quite cleaned up as its around the secretariat so therefore you will find the streets very clean and the roads very clean the hotel is also very clean and it has a very beautiful interior designing as it is a post from a 5 star hotel as it could be it has everything whole spent it holds meeting halls meeting rooms everything you can expect of from a 5 star hotel so the place is a very good they do have a very large place 4 parking so you don't need to worry about anything just go there if you have a lot of money with only that you can go and move to there couple of ₹s won't gona work there.

Wow! It was great. Centrally located and BEAUTIFULLY organized. Special mention about the staff and the way guests are treated. Food was good too. Worth a stay.

Very cordial atmosphere and courteous staff. The staff at reception very responsive even at the time of arrival at 1.10 min in the night. The arrangement of compass and prayer rug inside the suite 530 was great. This gesture of prayer rug with compass reminded me of great hotel chains in most of the developed countries. The staff on duty need special recognition please.

Friendly front end staff. English is understood enough to usually get what you asked for. Rooms need a lot of cleaning and the 2nd and 3rd floors are currently under construction. Had toove 2 floors up to actually be able to get any rest as some night the noise went on until 3am.

First impression of this property is royal and the Mughal Architecture makes you realize you are in Delhi! The rooms are clean and the bathroom is sparkling with all the amenities. The property is built over a large area so you can explore it at length. Location is central. The restaurants and night club are very good as well.

Infrastructure is aged, needs work on rooms. Rest ok. There is scope for improvement.

I am being generous to give it 3 stars. Giving 3 because each time they've been good memories here. No other reason honestly. Otherwise it deserves not more than 1 star. The first impression is horrible — since there's a parking issue each time there's an event. So watch out — o you're going for an event — please go early. Valet guys won't help, and they'll just point with hands ' no parking available. That's the biggest insult to a 5 star. They've also served 'cold ' snacks here. And no I don't mean 'cold cut ' meats. I mean they've served food which is otherwise supposed to be hot. It's laughable if it qualifies to be a 5star.

Many times visited this most affordable 5 star hotel named after historic King Ashoka of Kalinga (presently known as Odisa state in India). New Ashoka Continental is a deluxe budget hotel and among the leading government approved hotels, situated right in the heart of New Delhi. It was my memorable experience. The hospitality, room service, food are highly admirable. So far money is paid services are comparable far better than other 5 star hotels in New Delhi.
