Great hotels, very comfortable and the staff is very helpfull!

Large comfortable room, good facilities — even has a bath in addition to a shower (with a movable glass). Friendly staff, a pleasant experience staying here.

Great getaway for couples and groups.

The rooms are very good: comfortable, spacious and well soundproofed. The bathroom is well equipped.
The breakfast is complete and very good. The room, complete lying by floor-to-ceiling windows, overlooks the mountains. Very nice view!
Outside, 2 large hot baths and 1 sauna which is a real plus after a day of hiking :)

Spacious and comfortable rooms, with beautiful well-equipped bathrooms. The hot baths and sauna outdoors are a real plus, and are extremely pleasant, especially with the beautiful view that the hotel offers.
Breakfast is very full and very good, and the staff are nice, efficient, and everything is done very quickly. We will just lament the Wi-Fi, which, even paying extra to unlock the quick version, proved quite pushy.

Excellent place to stay. Hot tubs are perfect for watching the northern lights. They will even wake you up for them if requested. Clean and cozy.

This hotel was amazing. It is located on a golf course and the surroundings were absolutely breathtaking. Breakfast was complimentary and eating in the Dining Hall was a treat because of the huge windows and great views. Good variety breakfast. We stayed here 2 nights and loved it. It felt like luxury with the super clean rooms and modern bathrooms with the l'Occitane shampoo/soap/conditioner. We didn't use the hot tub or sauna. They have black out curtains and our room had a "mountain view" with a small little patio with 2 chairs so that we could sit outside and enjoy the view.

Not cheap but a real recommendation. Love it! They wake you up to see Northerlights if you want that option.

We stayed here in early June of 2018. The hotel was in a nice location with view of lakes and mountains in backdrop. The room was a bit small for 2 people (but nothing to complain). They had luxurious Loccitaine amenities in bathroom which me and my wife liked a lot. The room was super clean and had all the essential amenities. They had a coffee machine as well which we used every day. The breakfast in morning was awesome (fruit, coffee, cereal, bread, bacon, potatoes, cookies, etc. ) The staff was very knowledgeable and guided us for our travel for 2 days. They helped us refine our itenerary. They have an outdoor heated tub which you can enjoy. We didn't have food in restaurant so can't comment (as we use to return late every day). Overall a amazing place to stay and explore the area nearby. Highly recommended.

Nice hotel with stunning mountains surrounding the adjoining golf course. Rooms have a standard layout but all open on to a terrace area o er looking the golf course. Restaurant food is excellent too.

I have now stayed at 4 of the 5 Icelandair hotels, and found them all to have similar standards, though each has its own strength. This one's strengths were staff (very friendly and helpful), location (just 1 hour from Reykjavik, close to the A1 ring-road, but in a beautiful location), and the hot-tubs. Aaaaahhhhhhh, the hot tubs. Travelling all day, driving through heavy traffic in very difficult snow, then, the hot-tub. Oh and just for good measure, we had an all-night aurora display, clearly visible from the room, and staff were very quick to alert us. Food for breakfast and dinner was excellent. I loved this hotel (and the one in Vik is classy too). A really lovely comfortable friendly place.

Loved it, great staff, great room, could use some better soaps/lotion etc but otherwise very clean and nice and quiet. Get the lobster soup in the restaurant! It’s amazing! :) Some of the nicest reception and wait staff as well. Thank you!

Rooms are hotel usual food was very good. Outside there are two hot tubes and a small sauna.

This is an incredible hotel, worth experiencing. From the outside it looks like a simple motel, but once you walk in, the exquisite simplicity and beauty of Scandinavian design makes its impressive mark. Heated floors, straight lines, sensuous materials, and beautiful modern design fixtures are stuff that I rarely see in hotels at this price range. Much to see around. The beauty of this landscape is inspiring.

Very nice hotel, they call you when the aurora is visible if you want. We had a confusion about the breakfast if it was included in the price but the staff was wery nice and we got it for free. I can only recomand it, friendly staff, clean and with a nice view.

We got stranded in Iceland due to a storm closing all roads down. We missed our flight and despite our attempts to call Wow airlines to let them know they would not reschedule our flight despite the fact that we had purchased cancellation insurance. We found the nearest hotel to where we were stranded. The icelandair hotel Hamar. It was a nice room which provided La'occitane shampoo and conditioner, bathrobes, and slippers. It had a hot pot and a sauna and provides wake up calls for the northern lights which we saw the both nights we stayed there!

The hotel is in a great location. The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean and tidy. The staff is very helpful and friendly, the hotel is new, the room is quite comfortable. Good Cosmetics (gel, shampoo, etc. ), which is a rarity. The purest air, peace and quiet are ideal for complete privacy and relaxation. If you do not plan to spend all the time in the hotel, rent a car necessarily.

Just checked out and it was an Amazing experience! My favorite hotel in Iceland. A group of 4 of us stayed here for two 2 nights and couldn’t be happier. The VIEW was breathtaking! Sitting in the hot tub with the mountains behind us helped us forget the — 6 temperature. The staff said we were now true Vikings! And the staff were helpful and very pleasant. We appreciated the Northern Lights wake up call! And got some incredible pictures. The Rooms were clean and had everything we needed. Probably the best shower and washroom in all 4 different hotels we stayed in. The showers are stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body wash all from L’occitane!
This place gets a big thumbs up from these Canadians eh!

Clean, comfortable hotel set in a fabulous location. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Little light pollution here with unobstructed views of the sky from the hotel, so it's a great place to catch the Northen Lights. I caught my first sight of the lights here!

Hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff is incredible and will go the extra mile to make sure u have everything u need. Very happy with my stay.

Fantastic stay… Breakfast was cold but that is the only complaint. Superb views. Hot tubs beautiful. Rooms contemporary and modern.

Friendly staff, Rooms are ok. Unfortunately you have to pay ISK 1200 for robe and slippers extra. Wi-Fi is only free for one device per room. Breakfast is not included which is a bummer for this price.

Good thing is that the staff was pleasant and let us check in early after a long drive… requested a room but didn't get it… also walls are very sensitive can hear everything going on and that woke us up a lot.

Amazing views, incredible bathtub and exquisite decoration. Calm environment, pleasent as a whole, nice buffet breakfast and nice (but very expensive! ) dinner, despite of having just a few things to choose among. Very recommended!

We saw the northern light when we stayed here. There is a lounge next to the back door where you can enjoy. The most thoughtful think I like about this hotel is that they have a pile of thick Icelander blankets next to the door for the guests to use in the cold nights.

Loved this hotel. Very well equiped. Love all the L'Occitane washes in the bathroom. Very luxurious. Loved the amazing view from the rooms and the doors out to the hot tub.

A nice place to relax. Rooms are adequately sized and recently renovated. Each room has a tiny patio and access to outdoor hot tubs that are sourced with water from natural hot springs. There was a bit of a ventilation problem in the room, requiring a window to be opened to remove humidity and dry the bath towels.

I like this hotel, I have been there a couple of times. It is in a quite surrounding, next to a golf course with good views and no traffic noise. The rooms are not very big, but they are clean and nice. The food serviced is good and the staff are helpful.

We are currently at Hotel Hamar and we LOVE it! It is a pretty short (about an hour) drive from Reykjavik and it has two small hot tubs that overlook BEAUTIFUL mountains. We wish we were staying longer. The rooms are simple and clean — I would ask for a view room facing the mountains when you reserve. It is gorgeous. The hotel is well priced and if you are looking to relax in a beautiful environment, this is a great place to do so.
