Good, large rooms — good value for money, beautiful surroundings.

Worst experience dealing with a hotel so far. We had a gift certificate to this hotel for 1 night stay + 5 course dinner. In mars 2021 we tried to book but the owner told us that the hotel was under renovations and we could not book with them yet, and told us to contact them again in the summer. We contact them again in the summer and get the same story, still under renovations. So we ask since the gift certificate is about to run out if we can still use it after it expires since the hotel has been closed for months. The owner says it's no problem at all.
Fast forward to today when I call them again and try to book, but the person that answer the phone says that the hotel is under new ownership and they will not uphold the agreement of these gift certificates and will not be refunding any of them either.
Absolutely horrible customer service also I will be contacting Consumer Protection Agency here in Iceland and informing them of this.

Everything was great from the arraival to the check out. The service was great, the food was spetecular and like I said everything was great.
I ring the hotel before we went because I have a lot of alergy.
They consider that when er got our meal that was absoluetly delicious.
I will recoment Hótel Bifröst with others.

We loved our stay here. The hotel staff made our holiday! They were so helpful and friendly and really made an effort to tell us which places to visit and joked with us — they could not do enough for us. Loved the room had facilities so we could make drinks and lots of hanging space and storage. The bathroom is huge. We watched the northern lights from our bedroom. Amazing place. We will be back.

Staff was great and food was delicious. Rooms needed small upgrading. Overall happy we stayed there.

Review is for restaurant only… Great stop off on the road. Delicious food. Had the sweet potato soup and pizza. The dried tomato pesto with the bread was delicious. Wi-Fi and good service. Drip coffee available too. Such a nice stop!

Really nice hotel in a beautiful, rugged setting. Restaurant buffet for dinner was very nice, food and service was excellent and the breakfast spread was great before heading off on the days adventure.

Very good place. Friendly staff and a really good breakfast. You can use the hot tube to relax.

Cozy town of Bifrost, definitely recommend.

After being stuck in storm on mountain for 6 hours it was wonderful to see this place. It was warm, they had booze and food, and we had a chance to relax for a bit and figure out our plans. I do not know about the hotel but the staff was very welcoming and friendly.

The hotel is located in one of the dorms of the University of Bifrost and it shows… We actually felt like we were sleeping in a student’s dorm room. Not much has been done to transform the rooms (or the public spaces for that matter) into something hotel-like. Everything is outdated and it’s not that clean either (see pictures). Then there’s this kitchen with a stove and everything but there are no plates, no cutlery, no anything… Checking in and out was quick and the breakfast was minimal but tasted ok. The location is not much to write about but we wanted a place where we could explore both the West and North-West of Iceland so it did the trick for us.

Nice hotel. Good food and pleasant service. Located within a university so the hotel is a converted dorm room.

This hotel is dirty, run down, and generally uncomfortable. Service is pleasant enough, if slow at check-in. The room was not cleaned and was dirty when we checked in. There is no phone to even contact the front desk to ask for clean linens or towels. The breakfast was basic and serviceable. There was feces in the elevator that was left and the elevator smelled. The bathroom is gross and there is a thick layer of yellow substance all along the bottom of the floor.

Nice place, good location between the capital and the north. Good choice of food, spacious and cosy rooms.

The room was clean and spacious. Staff at front desk wasn't rude but seemed put out by needing to check us in. Power went out in our room (our fault) couldn't get a hold of anyone that night to fix it, next morning after an eye roll from staff was told. Someone would be up. An hour later we were ready to leave and still no power. Included breakfast was good.

Hotel bifrost is a large sterile looking collection of buildings that offers a decent hotel experience, we just had a mediocre one. Receptionist seemed annoyed and was not friendly. The room was large and clean with a private bathroom/large shower. Comfortable beds. A fuse blew as a result of a bad converter and we had no power around 10pm. We called the hotel main number (no phone in the room to call front desk) and no one answered. All we had were phones, so we used our batteries and went to bed. Breakfast was quite good. And we told the front desk we had no power when we went down. She rolled her eyes a bit and said they would send someone up (I dont blame her. Tourists probably blow them all the time) unfortunately by the time we checked out they still had not come. The restaurant is very overpriced, go to the place up the road and get their homemade pasta. If they are playing pink floyd and selling PF teeshirts you know you are in the right place.

The hotel is nice and clean. The room was large and spacious. Amazing view out of the windows. Bathroom was a bit weird but spacious and clean. The restaurant was great. Portions were generous and delicious. Breakfast fast great with enough choice.

The bathrooms do not seem clean with moisture printing on the walls due to the décor. Huge inconsistency, the mirror is not in front of the sink. You have to lift the bathroom door so you can lock it.
The building of the rooms is separated from the rest, obliging to go out, for the restaurant mainly, in the cold.
Very little choice at the restaurant for breakfast which does not allow everyone to eat. In addition, electrical plates are present in the room but absolutely no kitchen utensils, even a simple spoon.

Spacious modern rooms. Food in restaurant was really good — this Chef knows how to cook fish and that for a group of 30! Exceptionally good service and friendly helpful people. What a great find. Would recommend to any traveler or local!
