Beautiful decor and very clean but turned up to a room booked for 3 with only two beds made. Quickly rectified however. Additionally asked for a ground floor room due to decreased mobility, and ended up on the third floor with no lift. With no way of changing this as the hotel was fully booked.
We came into Heimaey for one day and stayed at the Hamar Guesthouse. We came in on May 1st (which is a holiday in Iceland) and found our keys on the counter in the lobby. The room was perfect for our family of four and the beds were comfortable. Loved that it was so close to the ferry, helped when I looked out the window to see cars lining up and realized we were running late and needed to get there ASAP lol.
