The campgrounds seem fine. The cabins are very rustic and small. The bathrooms and showers are pretty marginal. They are ok in the cleanliness but half of the shower fixtures were not working when we were there. On the other hand the water was hot. There is a nice diner next door where you can get pretty good food.

Good value for money! The cottage was comfortable and warm, and the kitchenette had some basic cooking equipment as well as 2 electric hobs and a fridge. The only problem was that the fridge started leaking in the middle of the night and the reception was closed, so we had to use the towels provided to stop the water. But all in all we enjoyed our stay.

My Experiences with Arhus Hella are varied. In the Vergagnheit We booked a small Cottage there. At the time, we were very unhappy with the Staff (unkind and unmotivated). But the Cottage itself was very nice (except that you couldn't close the Window in the Bathroom and it was always cold there because of that, which is actually quite unpleasant In Icelandic Weather conditions). In addition, the Bus to Landmannalaugar stops right in front of the Complex — that was the most important Point for us.
The last Experience, however, was very annoying. We booked a Cottage again (with a free Cancellation Option), unfortunately had to cancel our Trip. For Several Months, the Arhus Hella Owed me a Refund of about 250 Euros. Most of my Emails Were simply ingnorzed. Only after I wrote a bad Google report did an employee come forward to me, apologize and refund the Money immediately. So I don't think that sort of thing can happen at all. Especially not in a European country.

The accomodation was very cozy and in good location, quiet place.
Perfectly equipped, it is noteworthy that the shower was a marvel, very warm water.
Also we were able to enjoy the aurora borealis at the same door of the room.

Very nice cabin, with the basic things. The beds were a bit uncomfortable and the pillows were very bad. There are only utensils for two, but you go to the restaurant next door and you get whatever it takes. They have an area with washing machine and dryer. The great area very well connected with the sights. Well-preserved roads.

It's a good alternative for camping in a tent but that's it. The cottages are advertised for 4 persons but in reality it should be 2. Within a tiny room, you have to fit 4 persons, luggage, kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen isn't properly ventilated and barely stocked. Lighting inside the kitchen is extremely limited and we had to use a headtorch to cook something. Wifi in the room is practically inexistent. The staff was nonetheless friendly and scenery was beautiful.

The setting is beautiful with the river next door. The accommodation is camping cabins with no comfort. It is rather for backpackers and in summer.

Comfortable accommodation in Hella. The little kitchen was not well stocked though. No bowls for cereal. Bad lighting too. Otherwise we enjoyed the stay!

The worst experience on our trip around Iceland. It is stated that the bathrooms are "shared"; however, this is quite deceptive as they are "common". There is only one bathroom for men and one bathroom for women. Each bathroom has two toilets and a shower… for all the cabins and campers. One of the toilets in each bathroom was not functioning. Our cabin was so far away from these facilities it took a good 5 minutes to get there, and it was always occupied. The staff were rude and made excuses for everything. Considering the prices we paid this was totally unacceptable. We dined at their restaurant and while the food was ok the service was terrible. The staff argued among themselves and our waiter walked out. Avoid this place at all costs.

A pretty good campsite.
Affordable prices, free showers and Wi-Fi.
A large common room which is very appreciable when you camp and it rains.
A downside: the lack of maintenance of the sanitary and the common room (the doors close poorly, some faucets are broken).

Nice tent sites, well sheltered. Nice kitchen area with 4 cooking options, earth water boiler, covered area for cooking, eating. Only the amenities are sub par. One working toilet for the men, and two showers for the whole camping, that is not enough by far. The sinks were badly located, one blocked the entrance and one the toilet. They were building an extension though.

The site is correct, we were in the cabins and has 4 bed, the kitchen is common for all camping and sinks also, in the case of the kitchen does not have utensils so you have to go equipped in our case did not carry anything to cook we left the pots a Basque family, thank you!

It's a wonderful place! The cottage was cozy and warm, the kitchen inside of it was functional. We also enjoyed the river view out of the window. Alex, the receptionist, was very friendly and provided us with all the information needed. We liked everything, especially the price and location. If we return to Iceland ever again, we will definitely stay in Cafe Arhus!

Wonderful. Exactly what you would expected in Iceland. We were thankful that we were given room 14A which is situated right next to the river and we were just in time for the gorgeous sunset… breathtaking. Nice to have a small kitchen too. Though be warned the shower and sink are small.

We stayed 2 nights in June 2013. In one of the cabins of this hotel-camping. Very well located in this village next to Highway 1, opposite a gas station and supermarket.
The cottage has sheets, duvets, kitchen and bathroom. The Wi-Fi is only in the common area (restaurant) but you don't get inconvenience in you being in the restaurant connected for a while.
Very nice area, next to the river.
Our reservation does not include breakfast or meals, but we left the 2 nights for 90 euros + local rates.! If that is already well priced in Spain, to be Iceland or we believed (especially with prices we find the following nights in other accommodations)
