Pros: Very kind, helpful, cool staff. Comfy communal living area. Two kitchens. Laundry. Private bathrooms. Super convenient for bus transfers. Cons: Not directly in the city centre, but you could walk 15-20 mins to the highlights. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved this hostel. Has all the hostel amenities: private shower stalls, kitchen, plugs, ect. It is an easy walk to the main tourist district. Bring your own sleeping bag or be ready to rent a blanket.

10/10 recommend this hostel. Great staff, great deal, bar in the lobby, and cool people seem to be attracted to staying here which is awesome. Oh also good location very walkable.

Very convenient if you're taking Airport Direct or other buses to and from the airport, as it stops right outside the hostel (the ticket agents can be found inside the hostel too, but they charge more than if you pay online). Free parking, but the lot is usually pretty full. $10 for a duvet if you didn't bring your own sleeping bag. Reception is 24 hours, so no worries with late flights. The hostel is huge, with travelers of all ages from all walks of life — definitely not just a youth hostel. Staff was very helpful when dealing with a guy in my room who had been drinking since morning, and who came back at 2 AM to drink in bed and make noise before falling off his top bunk. The only downside is that the location is pretty inconvenient if you want to walk around the city.

Good place, neat, clean, near the center… Pity some of the rooms do not have windows, and muy'loose that charge the whole, or a You can take one.

Fantastic. Great staff who are willing to help with anything. They will make you coffee at any hour of the day and can help you plan a trip because they know the area so well. They do free bookings and most tours pick up directly from there for free since it's right at the bus hub. The rooms are clean and safe, the kitchen is fully stocked with cooking tools and utensils for free. The lounge is amazing and the best place to meet new people. One of the cheaper bars in town actually and they have a great happy hour. Honestly you and a group of friends could have a great night just drinking right there. Otherwise you can meet people and head out since it's right next to the highway but still in walking distance to downtown. I would highly recommend for anyone visiting Rekjavic, especially if you are young and looking to get the most out of you trip.

For the reasonable price, the hostel offers quite a lot of amenities. Everything is clean and tidy. In the bar you always meet people to exchange ideas or travel with you. But it would be better to describe that you have to borrow bedding in addition.

The place is clean and the beds are great. The only thing is they have 24 people in one room, which is a bit too much. Their common room is great and the kitchen too. The washrooms are really clean and well maintained which was a huge plus.

Great place, friendly staff, friendlier co-habitants. If you really like travelling, do stay at hostels such as these. Not only is it pocket friendly but you get the added bonus of meeting people from all over the world, which in essence is what travelling is all about. They have a fantastic lounge to sit and unwind with random old furniture and dimly lit lights and great music softly playing in the background. The kitchen is well equipped with all the stuff you might need for cooking and if you are lucky you might get to share food with people and talk over meals. Beds are comfortable and the showers are amply adequate. What can I say, Iceland is awesome!

Fantastic hostel with a good bar and local knowledgeable staff. It has some odd quirks other Nordic hostels have (such as bringing your own sleeping bag or paying to rent a duvet) but the sleeping accomodations are certainly serviceable. Also, there's a lack of secure space for luggage in rooms (with only medium sized standing lockers which you must get the key for downstairs. ) Downside is all location based as there's nowhere to really get food anywhere nearby, or pick up toiletries and such. So, a 15 minute walk into town becomes necessary — a potential problem in the rain. Would stay again. It's a great hostel, which draws in a great crowd.

Beautifully decorated communal area, clean and comfy rooms, friendly and helpful staff (big shout out to Eddie in particular! ) and overall incredible value for money. I intend to visit Iceland again before too long; when I do, I will book myself into this place again without any hesitation.

Clean, comfortable, and quiet hostel. It's not right downtown, but it's only about a 15-20 minute walk to the city sights. All the tour agencies will pick you up here. It's really close to the bus terminal and there is parking if you need it. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. You can purchase a light breakfast (bagel, skyr, coffee etc) for about $8.

Nice hostel. Located about 20 minutes from city center by foot. Pretty clean. There is also company you can rent cars in reception area. And just behind a corner is another one where you can book trips all over Iceland. My only complaints would be it is quite dark in a lounge therefore it is difficult to read a book. And kitchen upstairs was overcrowded most of the times so considering amount of tourists coming into Iceland this should be expanded.

Best hostel I've stayed in Europe so far. Excellent staffers, very kind and helpful. Room sizes are ok but the best thing is the additional washrooms located outside of rooms. Is an excellent option especially when six or so people are sharing a room and may need the bathroom at the same time. Really loved my stay here. Highly recommended.

Small rooms (we had one of eight beds — four bunk beds-, where as a lot of you should have gotten three), with little room for maneuver and to leave the luggage. Kitchens overcrowded and dirty (it has two). The only thing that would save is the bar that makes the common space, by its aesthetics and its environment. But you go to take something and point, no need to stay.

Cozy place, affordable, with nice, helpful staff. Most, if not all sightseeing companies will stop their buses right in front of the entrance to pick you up. Bathrooms are tidy, kitchen has lots of free-to-take complementaries like tea, salt, sugar, etc. Guests are mostly nice people, some quiet, some talkative, but nobody will bother you if you don't want that. Just one more note — if there is "free stuff" in the kitchen, it does NOT mean you can take the whole box of tea to your backpack (kudos to a bunch of brainless girls we had displeasure of meeting here).

The hostel is well is the cheapest that you can find in Iceland, you can hire a tour to learn about the tourist attractions nearby, all of charge towel, breakfast, edredon for go it's cold, the super closer is a 18 min walk habren at 10am and close at 18:00 or 19:00 depending on the day, getting there is very easy from the airport because you know where this hostel approx 25€. The staff very friendly just be careful what you leave in the kitchen by the other guests of the hostel are taken without mercy any.

Trendy and comfortable. The prices were good and the location is great. They had information on local tours and travel options and they even had cheap, used cars for rent. They have a nice, but small, kitchen that we used for our meals. It started snowing outside, but it was so cozy and welcoming inside that we sat and enjoyed conversation on the comfortable couches and chairs and talked to people from all over.

Its a 4 star hostel. Great rooms clean and the common area is fun and quirky. Location aint so good, but its good.

So far it's an excellent place. Everything is clean and neat, bring your own toiletries. A towel is 500 kronas and a duvet 1000 for the stay. Every body in the reception is very nice.

Nice staff and welcoming. Easy access from the city centre and the airport. Pretty cheap. Possibility to rent a car (very cheap) directly in the hostel and this is a real plus.

Bus hostel is a very clean hostel, but that's most of what it has to offer. I'd say its a bit above a 3 star, but not quite 4. The hostel is located about a 20 minute walk from the city center. But it's the cheapest we could find for the distance. They make you pay for a duvet (1000 ISK), which makes no sense. You also have to put a deposit for a locker (another 1000 ISK), you can't use your own lock.

One of the cheapest accommodations in Reykjavik. Very clean, comfortable, friendly. Good staff, a bar (up to 23), a kitchen, a lot of showers, you don't have to stand in queues. The breakfast was very small and the staff was very very small. There are no swimming pools or other entertainment. In view of the prices of public transport and taxis, it will be necessary to walk a lot.

Bus Hostel Reykjavik is a short walk from the sights and shops of the city center. It has so far been incredible value for money, given the prices of accommodation here, and provides a friendly, laid back atmosphere to its guests. It is well equipped whether you are a hiker, traveller or anyone else with a fully equipped kitchen (minus condiments), bar which follows the Icelandic happy hour tradition and common room of comfortable and plentiful seating. Whether a quick stop over or hotel replacement I could recommend Bus Hostel.

Clean, safe, and the bikes they rent are very good. The only thing I did not like was the location, 30 minutes walk to the Harpa. But everything else very well.

The bus hostel was great! The staff was helpful and friendly and let us drop of our bags before check in and even take showers in the shared bathrooms. I would definitely stay here again.

I rate this hostel four stars because: 1, super convenient that SADcars is located in the same building. 2, staff were friendly and helpful for the 1 night stayed 3, place was clean — rooms and bathrooms and 4, reasonably priced for a hostel in Iceland I stayed in the 24 bed dorm which was fine except for the late night packers zipping and unzipping, as well as, the early morning packers zipping and unzipping! Very hard to sleep through that high pitch noise for me. This hostel is located far from the downtown core, I think, but again the 24 bed dorm is pretty cheap so it's worth, in a way.

Comfortable lounge with good Wi-Fi, power sockets and bar. Basic rooms without light individual. There is to pay for the edredon and key locker. There's some food for breakfast, without meaning to be a breakfast. Good individual bathrooms with shower.

Nice service, even when landing at 1am. Simple but comfortable rooms. The toilets and showers are common and their cleanliness is not free of any reproach.

Good hostel, clean and tidy. Compared to other hostel prices in Iceland (> €40) also quite cheap. Gives a little shower, but still OK. Location is a piece from the city centre. Opposite on the hot water reservoir (silver building) You have a great view of the area.

Very nice hostel with a good vibe. Never been in one that clean in my entire life! Rooms are quite spacious for a hostel, kitchen and especially toilets as well. Could benefit from some more showerless toilets (just on case), but it's overall great! It is certainly not centric which makes it a bit long a walk if you have a lazy day but let's face it: it's Reykjavik! You can deffo walk. To be honest, the place vert well makes up for the location.

Great cozy hostel. Relaxing lounge room to grab a beer and Wi-Fi. Adequate kitchen for cooking. Beds and bathroom clean and tidy. Within walking distance of downtown area.

Great hostel. The staff are very friendly. The brownies are so delicious and the coffee. The food is reasonably priced. It's also nice that SAD rental cars is found here too.

Awesome service, great bathrooms and showers. Comfy beds and a great common area. Had a great stay. Also they have a big luggage room to keep your extra bags if you're going thru-hiking like we did.

Great hostel. Very clean, nice staff and guests. Good facilities. Location is not the best, but it is still walkable to downtown.

Solid place, you do have to walk across the freeway to get here from the city centre, but it's not that big of a deal. A bit more isolated, closer to the pearl viewing platform, and like other hostels in iceland, covers are not included so bring your own or a sleeping bag to avoid paying the $10 surcharge.

The rooms are spacious and cozy. Duvets are not included but not really needed because the heating system is good. The kitchen is big and complete. This is a good hostel for travelers with a car. Bathrooms are also very nice.

Not too far from downtown. There are usually a lot of people hanging out in the common area so plenty of opportunity to meet people from all over. Showers are pretty decent. They have a bike rental which is just a deposit, so essentially free which is pretty cool.

Too crowded inside a room, and anything need to pay, such as towel.

Spent 3 days here whilst visiting many of Iceland's natural wonders. Whilst the communal bathrooms where a burden, I cannot fault the rest of the facilities. I must admit I did not really like the breakfast other than toast, there was nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't to my liking. Loved how laid back the hotel staff were though as we were allowed to use the guitar and piano until 3 am. Located within walking distance of Reykjavik city centre.

A little far from the city center but very cheap.

Spacious, clean hostel occupying a modern, three-story building a bit away from the city center. Nice staff. Good location for people arriving by car, but might not be best for those arriving on foot. Lots of free parking. I have stayed here twice and will probably come back. Practical: two kitchens, well-equipped. Bunks are not assigned, so arrive early to get a bottom bunk. 10 AM check out. There is a charge for duvet rental, but no charge if you bring your own sleeping bag. Lots of free camping gas available, left by previous visitors. Good Wi-Fi, but it slows down in the evenings when lots of people are using it.
