I recommend highly! The concierge quickly helped with any problem and the location is close to everything! It is also very close to a large number of great restaurants!

What a cool hotel, in a fantastic location, fabulous rooms with the most comfortable beds. Superb food in restaurant with so much choice for breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. Very very accommodating reception & staff who made us feel super welcome. cannot wait to return. Thankyou so much for making our stay comfortable & fun.

We’ve just had a lovely stay at the hotel. Whilst the rooms are quite small they are very well appointed, the beds are very comfortable and the hotel is beautifully furnished and quirky. It’s a 5-10 minute walk from the town with coffee shops and restaurants within a 2 minute walk. There are a few lounges to relax in. The food in the restaurant was very tasty and reasonably priced. All staff were friendly and helpful — big shout out to Lorenzo in the restaurant who looked after us and was super helpful. A lovely place to stay.

I'm super shocked that they are not offering refunds due to people unable to travel because of COVID-19. Like I have any choice in this matter that my flights are grounded! Not a good time to be cheap and offer poor communication and customer service.

You're mostly paying for the location here. We paid 39, 600kr for one night in a room with a bathroom. For that price, even with how expensive Iceland is, I would expect near perfection. The room had faulty wiring, it's the only place we stayed around the entire country with blinds that didn't block out the light completely and the bathroom door is glass, so be extremely comfortable with your roommate. They state in the room that you can get a kettle for tea/coffee in your room, but they don't actually have one, so you'll have to get dressed and go downstairs for tea or coffee (but it's great coffee). There was a constant stream of traffic right outside our room that we could hear quite clearly all night. That said, the restaurant and bar downstairs is excellent and it's close to lots of great food. It's also walking distance to all the weekend excitement without having to be in the middle of it. The room is decorated well even with its flaws, modern and interesting.

We loved this hotel. We had a great view of the marina, and our room was super cute — anchor wallpaper and a nice spacious room. We loved the bar and lobby hangout area. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really tasty. We only stayed one night in Iceland, but I would definitely stay here again.

Don’t recommend this hotel! First, I reserved a king room but was put into a smaller room with no price adjustment. Secondly, there was no parking available and the staff was not helpful in resolving the issue. Finally, the rooms are small, cramped, outdated and hot! They are located along a busy road so opening the windows made sleeping very difficult. We had previously stayed at the Alda hotel a few blocks closer to the centre. Their rooms are larger, quieter and much nicer.

Great lounge, fun vibe, excellent reception staff! Did not love the see — through bathroom wall; maybe for some couples but not everyone wants to know their roommate that well! Would definitely consider staying here again though.

Lovely and lively place. Well situated. Great to stay solo. Cozy single room with very comfortable bed, nice duvet and 2 pillows, safe deposit, big flat TV, small shower and toilet. There is gym, bar and cozy lounge downstairs. Rooms are quiet and view was amazing. People can hangout or play together. Wifi was fast and easy to connect to. Staff is super nice and friendly. Would definitely go back.

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. It was a great location — close to restaurants, sites, and car rentals. The rooms were very comfortable and the hotel staff was very helpful. But the highlight of our stay was the bar and restaurant, Slippbarinn! They had very creative and delicious cocktails, expert mixologists, and tasty food. As we plan another trip to Iceland, this is on our list of places to revisit.

Very nice stay rooms are cruise ship like at the lowest price point but nice and comfortable. Clean. Try to get a room away from the bar it's noisy until about 1am. I would stay again.

Great hotel to stay near the tourist area. A 5 minute walk to tourist streets but away from the noise and crowd. The onsite restaurant is pretty good and the staff is super helpful. Many tours buses will come to this location for pickup.

Amazing hotel. Steps away from the marina, also has a flybus drop off directly out front. Converted from an old paint factory, very original decor with nice rooms. Try and get one with a harbor view for best experience. Also breakfast is a great spread of Icelandic and American foods.

The bathroom is the biggest complaint I have. It is a frosted door that still has a 2 inch gap open when it's closed. So basically there was no privacy. Also the showers wasn't great. The water floods the whole bathroom floor and the small curtain is right on you when you shower. There is no car access to a main entrance to drop your bags off. We had to block 3 blocks away and lug 5 bags to the hotel. It would have been nice if we could have dropped the bags off with a doorman before parking. Also, the rooms are extremely small. This didn't bother me so much, but something to note. All this said, the main lobby is really cool looking, and the location is perfect.

Quirky, friendly, basic but clean, with everything you need for a short stay. Great location near main shops, bars and restaurants. Great buffet breakfast with voucher to spend at bar if you opt out of a daily room clean.

It's a very nice clean hotel. I had a harbor view room which was really nice and has a balcony overlooking boats and the harbor. The bathroom was large with no tub, just w stand up shower. The bad part about the hotel was finding it and finding the entrance. It's actually in the back of the hotel not the front nor on the corner although you can go through the corner restaurant as it's part of the hotel. The hotel doesn't have parking but I was able to find something down the street. Kinda a pain to lug the luggage. Restaurants are confusing as there are two and I wasnt sure what's what.

Room was large, clean and well appointed. They have a good breakfast buffet, and a happy hour in the bar downstairs. Staff was very helpful. Location is on the docks near the water and close enough to all attractions. Overall, highly recommended!

This was a great hotel. Rooms were very nice and clean, staff friendly. The breakfast was tasty. We did request for a room that faces the harbor and it had amazing views. Overall a good choice.

3 star for room and decor. 4 star for service but maybe just me. I got better services than my friends. Clean quiet room. Adked for a kettle, they included tea bags and coffee packs with it and replenished them without me asking. Location good.

On atypical place only downside bathroom a little small and shower curtain.

Quirky, eccentric and above all fun! This is definitely not the Four Seasons, but if you wanted that, stay at home. The Marina is fabulous, the staff bend over backwards to help you with anything. Small rooms, great showers, high-end appointments — you can't beat this place.

Good location with easy walking access to the centre. Good decor. Lovely and warm. Happy hour in the bar is a good deal, food in restaurant is good. Rooms not on the marina side (which we were in) suffer from road noise, almost all hours (wondered. Why there were ear plugs on the bedside cabinet).

Stopped off here a few times, it was an Airwaves off venue location and has a good space and sound. Stopped off today for coffee and tea and snacks. The staff are lovely and helpful, English spoken throughout. Also has a great range of spirits and some very colourful shots.

Great hotel with the best location in the harbor of Reykjavik. The rooms are a little small, especially the bathrooms, but provides everything you need. What makes this hotel so special are the common spaces where you can lounge or work. There is even a cinema. The bar is fantastic, with a nice choice of cocktails. We had no noise disturbance from the street – there was a pair of earplugs on the night table…that got us scared. City center and restaurants are nearby. Check-in and out was a bit slow … an interesting setup for a hotel check-in.

Lovely hotel in great area of the city, right on the old harbour with lots of restaurants nearby as well as vendors selling various tours. We found parking dead simple just round corner on wasteland. Rooms are a little small, and a double room will get you two linked single beds with a single duvet each — apparently they don’t do double duvets, bizarre! Breakfast was pretty decent although the coffee was awful. Interior of hotel very nicely designed, lots of snugs and private areas. Would definitely recommend and book again when we return.

Great hotel for exploring Iceland for the first time. The old harbour is just outside the door, where a lot of guided tours start, just as whale watching or northern lights tour. The personal is help — and insightful and the rooms provide you with everything you'll need. Reykjavik's nightlife starts right in the hotel bar Splippbarin, where well prepared cocktails are served. The breakfast offers everything you'll need for your daily exploration. Fans of industrial charm will love the place.

Rating pending on a false transaction charge that was pointed out before leaving and was found to be not corrected properly at the time pointed out on site. Called hotel to address issue a second time days later and am currently awaiting for false transaction to be returned. Update: company still failing to return false charge. Being very difficult now after this should have been handled when it was addressed and confirmed a mistake before check out. Very disappointed, horrible customer service on their behalf to have not of resolved this issue yet and now attempting to state charges are accurate after it was already proven to be false on site. Find a different hotel, it's not worth the hassle to deal with such an inconvenience.

We had the lovely Old Shipyard view. Quiet cosy rooms. Bed is comfortable. Nice bathroom. Has an in room safe.

Great spot. I stumbled upon it to escape the rain. The cafe was nice and they have a lot of hidden seating areas.

The hotel itself is about as nice as you could ask for in this price range. Many well-designed common spaces to relax in. The breakfast is great. Rooms are small but well appointed. Knocking a star off for the location, which is right on top of the busiest road in Reykjavik; had to choose between sleeping with the window open and lots of noise/light or window closed and overheating. A room on the non-road (marina) facing side of the hotel is probably better, and I would try this place again with a room on that side.

Clean, modern rooms, but very 'intimate' bathrooms — wouldn't suggest a room here with someone you're not very familiar with. My only real complaint is the lack of early check in time and service to compensate — we landed from New York at 5 am and were in the hotel lobby by 6:30 and were told told to walk around the city until as early as noon when rooms start to become available. I understand that all rooms may have been full as guests prepare to leave, but I believe they should have offered us complimentary breakfast in the hotel as a way to welcome us or given us some other option. They have a movie room which wasn't mentioned as a way to pass the time. Also, the ashtray on my balcony was overflowing from previous guests which was gross.

In the interior of this beautiful hotel is the cocktail bar Slippbarinn.

We loved it. Went with 3 kids ranging from 2-13 age. The 2 year old played with brio train set in the foyer. There was small gym. The bar had an excellent stock of wine and beer. The staff all spoke excellent English. They even helped us get a domino pizza to our room. Thanks. The food is quite a ambitious and not for the kids. Though the food we had was beautifully prepared. The breakfast is brilliant but possibly pricey. The rooms we had were great and cot was provided. Really clean and sharp looking. Can easily recommend this hotel and the views are fantastic overlooking the sea and hills in the distance. The location is fantastic as well and takes 10mins walk to main centre. The kids talk about it often.

We went here on our honeymoon. It is a nice, quaint, very trendy hotel. In the midst of a very active and live marina. The location is nice, as it is very close to everything and you are right there on the marina/water. However, with it being an active marina. It is quite loud during the days when they are working on the ships. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The hotel itself is very trendy and up-beat, they certainly made the most of the space. The hotel bar/restaurant is nice, very spendy. However, most of Iceland is quite spendy. The room's are modern and up-to-date; they are rather small but very practical. I would go here again.

Very nice, helpful staff and the foods amazing.

Rooms are small. Rooms on second floor are very noisy until 1am as they are over the bar. Road side rooms are also very noisy. Reception staff spend too much time 'playing' on the computer to notice that the northern lights trip we waited for for 45 minutes was cancelled! Cocktail drinks are very small (not comparable is size to uk) Would not return.

Has everything a hotel needs. Fitness room, boiler room, looks like an aquarium.

We tried to go for dinner on a Wednesday night and when we rang were informed that they're currently swamped with a wedding party but by 8pm they would have freed up and reservations weren't necessary. We turned up around 8:30 and everything is still packed with loud, live music, with the doorman telling us to just wait for a few minutes and then entirely disappearing. Their reduced menu for the evening also wasn't appealing at all.

As a travel agent: There are so many great places to be in Iceland: Spent my birthday in 2013 here. Spent awesome time hotel on the Marina. I love the peacefulness of having a hotel over look water. The views of the shipping docks, the soft warm atmosphere created inside makes this a wonderful place to put your head on the comfy pillow at night. Stylish rooms in many categories with classic Scandinavian furniture and colors that stand out to make it a pleasant comfortable atmosphere. I guess with the short Iceland days they designed the colors to bring in a sense of warmth and it did make me feel cheery. The restaurant serves the usual foods, fish, meat and yes you get lamb! A staple of Iceland. At the bar, enjoy wild drinks made up by the bartender with herbs and liquor mixed. They didn't go well with my taste buds but the others enjoyed it. I like the pre-dinner hor devours that you can purchase at the bar. It's wheel chair friendly, free Wi-Fi (which is found in most places around Iceland), Close to the main attractions, English speaking staff, and don't forget the great views.

Good location. Good bar. Rooms are small but fun+quirky. Our room overlooked the shipyard. Wifi no longer free and priced high. 3G data plan was a much better option. Charge 4k isk for late checkout. Will likely look for a more reasonable hotel next visit.

Traffic a bit loud in the road side rooms, needed earplugs for good sleep. Good breakfast and the free Wi-Fi seems to be working ok.
