We stayed in the Airbnb attached to he Hotel Hilda. Wonderful stay.

Great friendly place to stay. Would stay there again. Room clean and warm. Breakfast more the adequate. Within easy walking from the centre of town.

Hotel Hilda is absolutely gorgeous. Situated in a lovely place in Reykjavik and a nice distance from the city centre. The water smells a bit though.

Perfect location to explore the city on foot, clean room but not too big, a breakfast room with a few tables, you may want to wait for someone to finish eating for the table. Breakfast in the standard. Staff very friendly and helpful.

A 13 bedroom boutique hotel in a quiet and well placed area. Good bedding. So much for the positive points. Otherwise not very friendly receptionists, superheated bathroom, cleanliness really limited, Windows not isolated (OK with the geothermie they pay not the heating but still, the water flowed on the glass). We add to this a security to get out of the rooms, at my mother it sounded and at home we had to unlock a lock and open the handle so the 2 hands available, with a BB and coats full arms, nerve crisis assured! And the breakfast, a joke… bread, ham and cheese.

Nice and family atmosphere. Breakfast and in the room used to be too small. Lack of an adequate wardrobe in the room and absent of the simple hangers on the walls of the room and the bathroom. Good location 2 steps from the center.

This hotel literally saved me a few others from a long day of exhaustion. They welcomed us in and we're so very nice and comforting. After a mess at the international airport which involved a power outage, freak storm, and hours upon hours of lines, culminating in false hotel vouchers from the airline (because the original hotels never received the voucher bookings because there was no power), we made our way to Hotel Hilda and they accepted us in quickly and we're understanding of our situation. They are THE BEST! A wonderful little boutique place that is only blocks from downtown, surrounded by local residents, and a super nice and helpful staff. I would definitely stay here again!

We arrived at 8 am in Reykjavik and we went straight to the hotel. We were hoping our room would be available but no such luck. The receptionist was a very nice woman who told us she would email us if a room became available. So we dropped our bags and went sightseeing. Nothing was opened at 9am in Reykjavik except this overpriced restaurant that was serving breakfast. Within the hour, the receptionist emailed us and we went to the room. It is smaller than I thought it would be but I believe all the hotels in Reykjavik only have small rooms. The hotel is located in a residential neighborhood and the Flybus will not drop you off there. They'll drop you at the nearby bus stop and it's a 5 minute walk to the hotel. The area is very quiet which is nice. The water is from the geothermal spring and there are Soley organic products in the room. The products have an amazing aroma to them. The hotel is located 5 minutes by foot from the center of Reykjavik.

Great place to stay for a night or two. Very close to the city center and also to the wharf. The beds were comfortable and every room has its own private bathroom which is nice. My only complaint is that they put us to the dining room/Breakfast room and it was VERY noisy in the morning when we were trying to sleep. Beyond that it was very nice and the staff were very accommodating.

We stayed one night 8/8/17. Our room slept 3 but they allowed one child to sleep on the floor. The room was quaint, clean, quite and comfortable. 300.00 US was expensive but the local going rate.

It is a cosy hotel and very close to town. Nice staff and good breakfast!

The room was a perfect size for just one person. Although there were two beds, I think fitting another adult and luggage would be tight. I was on the first floor / room 1, and was nervous that it was on the ground flood with the windows at street-level. However, the roll down shade prevented onlookers, and there really wasn’t much street noise. The location feels like it’s an older / more mature part of town, and the town is small—so I am not sure how that’s possible. It was a quiet street and quiet hotel. I didn’t think there was anyone else staying there until I bumped into another solo traveller in the breakfast area. I saw two more as I was checking out. Also, I never felt unsafe here. The walk (at night/in the darK) seemed safe, and to get into the hotel you need a magnetic keycard. I have long legs and an athletic spirit, so it was about a 15-minute walk to the church, which is basically on the other side of town. All of the eateries, wineries, groceries are between the hotel and the church. The breakfast was traditional European: ham, cheese, salami, bread, yogurt, musli, Delonghi coffee, tea, orange, banana, cucumbers, tomatoes, and of course milk/OJ. Reykjavik Excursions picked me up at the hotel and did their best to bring me back—big buses cannot navigate small streets but I was dropped off up the street, which was good enough for me. Angela, the front-desk receptionist was great. She made reservations for me, suggested places to eat and things to see.

The hotel is in a quiet street near the centre. Good location! Nice people. When you ask things they are very helpful.

We stayed in the Guesthouse of Hotel Hilda (it is actually in a separate house on the street just below Hotel Hilda but still considered part of the main Hotel). The location was perfect and we were able to walk to the city center and Harpa (15-20 min walk). If you rent a car, there is plenty of street parking available. The small guesthouse was clean and perfect for 2-3 people; this is definitely a great value place to stay. My sister and I were lucky to book the small guesthouse behind the main guesthouse. There was a bed that could sleep two as well as a twin bed lofted above. The room was cute, simple, and cozy — — we loved that there was a hot water boiler for tea and many supplies for cooking. The shower area was large and we were surprised that the floor was heated (what a lovely touch! ). If you feel like cooking, there are small grocery stores within a 5-min walk where you can buy supplies. For breakfast, Hotel Hilda serve a breakfast buffet with an assortment of meat, bread, cereals, and snacks. The Wi-Fi signal was not strong enough in the guesthouse, so you would need to go outside to access the internet. However, the staff provides you with a key to the main house in case you want to sit inside and go on-line.

Staying here for a week. So far it's lovely. Friendly, understanding staff and you can get by with English. Highly recommended.
