North Iceland Hotels with a Pool

Lovely clean hotel one of the best we have ever stayed in. Very nice staff that went out of their way to help you with anything.
Even told the lady on reception (owner? ) what a great hotel it was.

Very convenient location. 5 min walk to town centre, 15/20 min to the pier. Great view of the Fjord and mountains. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Very clean, confortable and pratical. The staff is particularly friendly and nice. A great place to stay if you want to explore and go whale watching in the North of Iceland.

Excellent service and great hospitality. Would definitely stay there again 👍

Good sized rooms with good facilities. Staff and in particular the Reception Staff were excellent and very friendly, good selection of items at breakfast and very clean throughout. Highly recommend.

The location is great, Akureyri isn’t massive so it’s very walkable.

A great location with the kindest staff. We had to leave early and breakfast was not ready yet. We drank some coffee and suddenly the kitchen staff came with scrambled eggs. If you can. Stay here.

Honestly, I do NOT understand the current rating of this hotel!
Compared to many other much more expensive places, comfort is very good.

The hotel is usually a school internate, but that just means it's quite cheap. The quality is surprisingly nice, you have your own toilets and delicious breakfast, where even vegan can decide.

Spent 4 nights in the Cottage in Winter.
A peaceful location to relax after long days visiting the stunning area.
Great location, 10 minute drive to Akureyri & its airport.

This was one of my favorite locations we stayed at in Iceland.

We booked for one night in the family room.

It’s a kind of a normal hotel with all facilities. Rooms are good, clean. The lady receptionist present in the night schedule isn’t too friendly. Rest was all fine.

Must-Go Camping Spot —
We stayed here with our camper on the way from Borganes to Akureyri.

We camped here for a day and we liked it a lot. Really kind staff, tasty food, access to the pool and hot tub for a small price. Overall good choice if you need a place to stay in the north.

We stayed here in a 2 person cabin for two nights the first full week of August 2025. The cabin was absolutely lovely and the location was extremely scenic. Everything was clean and felt nice.

Lovely accommodation with excellent breakfast, big room with sink and comfortable bed. Enough toilets available for everyone and pools outside. Will come again :)

Great value for the price. You can really tell the difference between north and south iceland accommodations). The old couple that runs this place is super friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at The Viking Country Club Guest House! The owners are a kind and warm-hearted elderly couple who made us feel truly at home.

Off and of the beaten path. The rooms were clean and ready for us as advertised. The pool you see in the ad is just a couple hundred feet down the road. There is no laundry service.

Nice size room right across from a store/cafe with a nice view out the window. Handy shared kitchen. Really nice restaurant (Retro Mathus) in the village.

Greet place really feels like home. On the road when you do the circle around the island. Good choice if you are looking for cheap and nice.

Easy check in, even after hours. Just a key on a hook with your name on it! Parking easy right out front. No kitchen access was the major downside. Floors were creaky and hallways looked dated.

We spent two nights in the villa during our roundtrip. Wonderful view, huge house! Nice hosts as well. We had a pretty good time.

Rooms were ok, quite tight. TV in room was a pleasant surprise until we realized there are no channels.

I was a bit worried initially from some of the bad reviews but actually pleasantly surprised. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable.

Really satisfied with the stay. The price is very reasonable and the cottage was new and comfy. The host is so nice and wanting to make our stay as good as possible. We will definitely come back.

Charming cabin within the sound of a rushing river. Peaceful despite being part of a larger campground, check in and out were very easy.

We had a wonderful stay at Draflastadir Guesthouse! The entire Guesthouse was very clean and tidy. The breakfast offered was tasty and fresh.

I am half of the Croatian couple that was volunteering at Mirjam's and Sverir's farm 8 years ago for almost 3 months. We came to volunteer, learn about their way of life and help them with their work.
