We found this place by accident. When our Air BNB did not have what we needed. This place really was a home away from home! The staff is so friendly! The food is incredible and the view that comes with it! Simply beautiful! Truly feels like you’re in your own private paradise!

We had the most wonderful time with our family at Gringo Perdido! The staff were amazing and attentive. The food was DELICIOUS! There were fun excursions they set up for us. We all slept so good after swimming in the lake all day. It was the most wonderful family trip and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a low key, comfortable place in the jungle! We could hear the monkeys which was so fun. Loved loved loved our experience there.

Excellent service! In the middle of a paradise! Super recommended! The food is delicious, we will be back soon, we fell in love with the place. We did very well with our 11 and 9 year olds, they didn't want to come back.

Besides the perfect location for visiting Tikal, Yaxha and Flores, you will find a waterfeont property with very nice suites, friendly staff, english and spanish speaking, Wi-Fi and a family of howler monkeys which lives free on the propertys tree tops. Don't miss jumping into the lake, take a kayak for a ride, fish from one of its piers or just enjoy the view with the house pet Lola. A perfect place to travel with family, friends or even a romatic getaway.

The website said $9 and when we got there they were asking for $80 per person. The atmosphere was not pleasant since we got there, the place looked dirty and I saw some mold. The workers were not very kind. I do not recommend this place at all, there are many other cheaper and prettier places to stay at close to the lake.

This place is amazing. So beautiful and serene. It is right on the lake with clean clear water for swimming or kayaking. The resort sits next to a biological reserve, so seeing wildlife especially howler monkeys is likely. It is very modern and well kept by a very attentive staff. The management is friendly and speaks atleast 3 languages. El remate is close by and offers a small town assortment of shops and restaurants. The restaurant at the resort is also very good. Tikal is a short ride from the resort, as is Isle de Flores. I will be back as soon as I can.

I didnt stay although I would have liked to actually. But I spent there the whole day. A brilliant area. With hammocks, piers, swings. A long strech of the beach belongs to them. Close to the jungle and a family of howler monkeys, so you will definately hear them! Nice owner and receptionist. Welcoming and hospitable. I wish I had stayed! Was a little bit above my budget though. If that is not your consern, I would recommend it to you for a relaxing stay.

They have a great set up here. They are trying to figure out who they are, they have so many options open to the way they can take the hotel because of the set up. But are very friendly and helpful. If you are a exercise buff plenty of places to run, bike and swim. I would have uploaded more pics but my wife has them all on her phone. I was to busy swimming with my kids in the lake. Rooms are great. Lake rooms have a great view.

Incredible place, excellent food.

An increadibly beautiful place just by the Peten Itza Lake. The rooms are tidy and clean and the staff is discreet and polite. Delicious local food, big portions, served in the restaurant with a great view at the lake. If you need to relax, this is exactly the place where you should stay. Just sit in the comfy chair with a glass of wine and have a nice chat with the friendly owner who will reveal some interesting details about this beautifull neighberhood.

The staff are amazing! We were treated like family. The food was excellent — breakfast and dinner daily. We stayed in the modest lakefront open-air rooms of the original hotel. The beds were comfortable, and there were mosquito nets over each one. (There are also fancier rooms available with air conditioning and private porches. ) The lake is paradise: clear, warm water. Gringo Perdido has lovely docks and hammocks available for you to lounge in and enjoy the lake view and birds. There was also a kayak available for use.
