Tropical Sol

The hotel looks a little dated maybe compared to some newer ones and the rooms a little small however for value for money I would rate it five stars, all the staff were amazing, the hotel was spotless clean all over, the rooms cleaned ever day with new towels every three and complimentary toiletries. Every bed room has air con and a balcony, we had a nice view of the gardens. The breakfast included is good for choices hot and cold and you could have as much as you liked, the pool bar was great serviced nice snacks and the evening bar good. The location in the resort is perfect not noisy but on the main strip with lots bars and restaurants and shops and a 5 min walk to the beach. The pool was nice there was always sun beds no one was saving them people came and went so you could always get a sun bed, the hotel also had it own section of Beach where you could hire lovely sun beds and order drinks and food from the hotel to the lounger Nico who managed that and the evening was really helpful. Tigaki itself is small resort but with enough bars and restaurants for a week most places great food and cocktails and good value for money and the teens made use of the one nightclub Memories a little like an 80s one back in the day. It is also near Kos town accessible on the bus. We were two families with older teens and found Tigaki great for the week but.

Hotel clean and staff very welcoming. Breakfast was fine small area to collect food cause queues. Pool fine plenty of beds. On arrival we were asked to pay taxes which was fine but cash only! Then we wanted a safe cash only and no receipt. Overall we had a pleasant stay. Resort is lovely plenty of bars and restaurants.

Its very central but that’s it. The Hotel is sooo outdated and needs a fresh up. You feel like back in the 80‘s. It is not allowed to sit in front of the hotel at the plenty seats and tables, which are empty — unless you get drinks from the bar, which I never experienced ever before in a hotel. And the rude bar tender told us to stay on our balcony, if we don't want to get any drinks. Rude. Not professional.

The worst hotel experience we've ever had, this is why:
I always wear a unique necklace — nothing expensive, but special to me. On the morning of my spa day, I took it off and placed it in a small box in the dresser drawer. That evening, when I went to put it back on, it was gone. My partner and I searched the room thoroughly but it had completely disappeared.
The only people with access to the room that day were staff, and we knew the maid had been in. On reporting it to the front desk, the response was incredibly unhelpful — they essentially blamed me and shrugged it off. We were going to file a police report.
The next morning, on our way to breakfast, we saw the maid who’d cleaned our room the day it went missing. When we returned half an hour later, she had skipped cleaning the next 10 rooms and was in ours, loudly “finding” the necklace behind a backless bedside table — somewhere we had already checked thoroughly.
We no longer felt safe or comfortable staying at the hotel and checked out that day, luckily finding another place to stay nearby.
Aside from this awful experience, the hotel room itself was tired and uninspiring. The shower head holder was broken and you had to hold the shower with one hand whilst washing. The breakfast was below average. Only positive was the convenient location to the supermarket and pharmacy.
I would highly reccomend anyone to stay at a different hotel but if you do stay here, be aware that your belongings could disspear from your room.

We have just returned from a visit to Tropical Sol Tingaki Kos. It was a lovely hotel very modern spotlessly clean. The food in the cafe was fabulous also the breakfast was very good. All the staff were lovely. The two men in the cafe were really nice. Vasilicas the young lady on reception was a lovely lady. Towels and bedding were changed every day except one. All in all it was a fabulous holiday.

Lovely holiday, lovely staff, nice clean rooms, good food, however breakfast gets cool too quick, good choice at breakfast, good location for restaurants, shops, beach. We had a great 10 days thankyou.

Small hotel, you shouldn't expect too much. There is a €5 tax per day, which varies depending on the hotel category. This hotel is supposed to have 4.5 stars, which I absolutely cannot understand. It's all about taking the piss out of the guest and deducting extra money for the hotel tax. Btw tax is being paid in cash and no invoice is issued. Breakfast is ok. But what bothered me the most was the noise level. The rooms are VERY noisy and you can hear everything from downstairs until at least 2am. I was not allowed to sleep a wink in this hotel. For me it was more of a punishment than a vacation. I won't be back and definitely Wont recommend it.

We loved our holiday at Tropical Sol. It's the people that make this hotel. Terri at the snack bar and the woman who was doing the cooking every day while we were there were awesome; so hardworking and friendly. And Nico behind the bar in the evenings was the best. Plus excellent folk on reception. The location is perfect if you want a very easy stroll to a lovely beach and a plentiful supply of restaurants, bars, and gifts shops, as well as good supermarkets. The rooms are comfortable, traditional old fashioned (just as we like it). There are no mod cons but everything you need. And everything was kept exceptionally clean throughout our stay. Great pool area with plentiful sun loungers. Plus beautiful views from our balcony over the hills on one side and towards the sea and Turkey on the other. Glorious.

The hotel is what it says 3 stars.
Old school hotel. Food was ok but that’s what you expect for 3star hotel.
You cannot fault the cleanliness of the rooms and toilets. Maids everyday apart from Sunday. We had a lovely lady who went out of her way to make our little ones bed and neaten his toys up each day. Thank you :)
Avoid room 141 — the laundry sits right outside your balcony in big metal crates.
Aircon barely worked. Day 2 we asked to move and the receptionist was very helpful with this. Second room we got was much better.
Bar — the barman is pretty miserable. The only time we see him smile was when a group of ladies all turned up mid week.
We felt as though whatever we asked for was a hassle or a big effort for him. Which is unfortunate as everybody loves a pool bar right?!
Pool — Cold pool! Ok for a quick dip but we found it bit too cold to be in for long!
Kids pool — ideal size our little one loved it. Only fault. It didn’t seem to be cleaned all week.
Location is great. You are right where the shops and restaurants are. Walking distance to the beach. Ideal for a family with a little one as you can just walk wherever day/evening.
We got a private taxi to Kos town costing us €60 return for 4 adults and 1 infant (sounds costly but they provide a car seat so we thought it was worth it. )
Overall if you know what to expect it is a sweet hotel and very clean.

Stayed for three nights, the location is perfect, so close to the beach, bars, restaurants and supermarket. The staff we encountered were friendly and the grounds are well kept. The downside is that the hotel is very old. The room door lock is a physical key and you have to press to lock it from inside for the door to actually lock. The air con is hard to use and it seems to have a mind of its own, plus it does not work when you leave the room so don’t expect to come back to a cool room. The breakfast is very basic. The cereal bowls look like a cat water bowl! Finally the bathrooms are very small and very old. Overall a nice break in a hotel that is in a fantastic location with friendly staff but just be aware that this is basic accommodation.

Very decent 3*. Rooms are a bit tatty but clean. Beds and pillows comfy. Towels changed every day. Location is excellent, right in the middle of the strip leading to the beach, surrounded by restaurants and souvenirs shops. Supermarket in front, letter box opposite. Staff a bit cold at first but nice people. The only let down is the breakfast, very limited in choice.

Location was really good as beach nearby with a bus stop and plenty of restaurants and family bars on the street. A supermarket across the road which was very convenient to buy bottled water.
Once we arrived we had to fill in a form each, which was really quick.   We had 2 rooms — a double room that sleeps 2 people and a family room to sleep 3 people with 3 single beds.
The double room was spacious and the air con was brilliantly. It came on quickly and was very cooling. No faults with this room, however the other room was a different story.
The family room had no space at all — it looked like they used a double room and put in 3 single beds with only a small gap in between them. The guy who showed us to the room had to move the single bed closer as it was blocking the back door which meant it couldn't be open. There was a weird smell like something was dirty but we couldn't find exactly what it was. We believe it was the curtain. One of the quilts had a dried red stain that looked close enough to blood. The air-conditioning worked well once on but it always took ages for the air con to function. The cleaning was done well and nearly everyday someone came to tidy our beds. The rubbish was emptied daily. Small bottles of shower gel and shampoo was not replaced which wasn't an issue as we bought our own. There was a flushing issue with our toilet as it kept making noises and the water won't stop, it also wouldn't let us flush properly.

Everything you need. Had a room on the opposite side from the road. No noise. Nice pool area and wonderful man working at the pool bar (Terry 😀). He makes wonderful drinks. Location is good, short distance to the beach and restaurants. Breakfast is continental with a greek twist. Very good.

13 nights stay in this lovely hotel, would 100% recommend. A very good 3* hotel. Rooms and furniture quite basic, as expected in Greece but very clean. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Small fridge, only big enough to hold a couple of large bottles but did us fine. Air con, but only works when in room as room key activates.
Breakfast, better than expected as we were just expecting continental but did have fried and scrambled eggs as well daily, sometimes beans. Fruit limited, Watermelon, apples and ‘tinned fruit cocktail’ every day. Croissants and pastries, was adequate.
Swimming pool pleasant and clean. No need to reserve sunbeds, always some available. Bar food lovely, try the Gryos plate to share, delicious! Terri cheerful bar man, all staff pleasant, hotel has area at beach with sunbeds with mattresses 15E for 2 with umbrella on front row.
Location is fantastic, would definitely return to Tigaki. One main road full of hotels, restaurants, shops and a few bars, not noisey at night though. Lovely restaurants are favourites were Aliada (lamb klefiko best we found! ), Brusko and To Nei Kapillio all very nice. Couple of nice Italians too.
House wine very nice only 6-7E per 1/2 litre.
Cocktails on resort very reasonable, 5-7E.
Large supermarket directly opposite hotel.
Really easy to get around, bus into Kos Town only 2.3E takes 20 mins direct from Tagaki every hour.

Visited the pool of this property as it is open to the public so long as you buy from the pool bar. The pool itself is perfect for kids, very shallow, not deep at all. There is a jacuzzi for anyone to use to get rid of those aches and pains. Great location on the Tigaki strip, the food they serve is delightful, the menu is vast.

Lovely clean hotel with friendly staff and good air conditioning in the room which was very much appreciated! Our flight out had been delayed so instead of arriving at 9pm it was midnight before we got to the hotel. The staff were welcoming and the bar was still open which was just what we needed! The bar tender was also very friendly and always waved when he saw us. The breakfast each morning was good (self service buffet) and there was always a couple of sun beds by the pool late afternoon when we liked to go for a swim. The hotel is central to the town with its tavernas and supermarkets close to hand and only a few minutes walk to the beach. Our room was at the back of the hotel so nice and quiet with a view of the mountains and sea in the distance and the balcony in the shade during the afternoon which was ideal. All in all a lovely week in a lovely place.

Stayed there end of June 2024. All the staff were very nice, rooms were cozy and always kept clean.
Only problem was the shower — part of the water from it leaked out and drained in the middle of the bathroom, making it very slippery and wet. We had to put a towel on the ground to not have wet footprints across the whole room.
The pool had great food and big portions, served along with good music and a fantastic bartender — nothing but good vibes.
Breakfast was more local with a couple of international options (bacon, all sorts of eggs, beans, ham, cheese, …). In the first hour of serving breakfast it was well stacked and the food tasted great.
On the street the hotel stand on there are a lot of markets, bars and taverns.
I would visit it again.
