Mesta is a great place to just spend a morning or an afternoon just wandering around. These medieval mastic villages make so much more sense after you have toured the Mastic Museum. Mesta is like a living museum, but there aren't any labels. The Mastic Museum tells the story of their development and gives you necessary context.

What a beautiful town, firstly, and such a wonderful way to experience it. Medieval Castle Apartments has a number of studios inside Mestá which, although renovated, have kept the original architecture and design of the buildings (something not many places can boast). The interior of the room I stayed in (202) still has the original ceiling of medieval stone and mortar, and looks wonderful – obviously kept in good nick. While the architecture is medieval, the room does have Wi-Fi, a TV, a sound system and just enough lighting (natural lighting is a bit scarce, but that's a consequence of the medieval design of the studios, not the hotel's doing), and marvelous air conditioning (such a relief to walk back into the room after a hot day spent walking around Mestá and exploring the southern parts of Chíos island). The receptionist and the other locals of Mestá are so warm, welcoming, friendly and no-nonsense: the embodiment of filoxenía which was so important to the Ancient Greeks. It is good to see it continued so effortlessly today. While this hardly proved an issue for me, I would recommend that guests bring their own mosquito repellent, their own toiletries (as the studio only supplies bars of soap), and milk etc if they plan on having tea / coffee (which are supplied by the studio). I would definitely recommend Chios to people, and when I do, I will recommend this magical place to them. Σας ευχαριστούμε!

Fascinating Medieval sight.

We stayed here one night last summer It was amazing and maybe we will be back this summer.

Stayed for 2 nights and still wish that were much longer. Hospitality, tranquility, simplicity… accompanied with a 15th century style. Loved very much. Alexandria (the receptionist) is so lovely. I recommend here to anyone longing for a peaceful escape.

It was so nice to stay in Medieval Castle during my visit to Chios. I enjoyed too much. Ambiance of suites was wonderful! Room was clean, very comfortable and quite. If you would like to live the atmosphere of history you should definitely choose to stay in Medieval Castle. Alexandra was always smiling, friendly and she introduced history of Mesta and gave many suggestion also. Breakfast was really good and it meets all of your expectations. Especially, bougatsa was perfect… which is traditional greek pie (kind of borek with custard and cinnamon). Everything was smooth. Efharisto! (TR)
Orta çağ kasabası Mesta'da tarihi dokuyu koruyan, resepsiyonu ve odaları köy içinde farklı yerlerde konumlanmış ve bildiğiniz hotel konseptinden farklı hizmet anlayışıyla kesinlikle beğeneceğiniz bir hotel. Hem tarihin izlerini yaşamak hem de biraz sessiz ve rahat bir konaklama arıyorsanız tercihiniz kesinlikle Medieval Castle olmalı. Kahvaltısı beklentilerinizi rahatlıkla karşılayacaktır, özellikle Bougatsa çok lezizdi. Hotel yönetimi çok samimi, arkadaş canlısı ve sizin için en iyisini yapmaya özen gösteriyor.

I stayed only one night in Medieval Castle, but I will stay definitely in this hotel when I come to Chios again. Rooms was quite charming and comfortable with ambiance.
Alexandra is so friendly and smiling, she introduced the lovely village and she gave many recommendations. I left in morning from hotel, so we could not say goodbye, sadly. I hope we may meet again.

Sakız Adası'nın orta çağ kasabası olan Mesta'da yer alan Medieval Castle kalınacak en iyi yerlerden biri. Odaları tüm ihtiyaçları karşılayacak donanımda ve konfordaydı. Kahvaltıda yerel ve ev yapımı lezzetleri sunmaları oldukça hoştu. Samimi ve yardımsever çalışanları ile memnuniyet derecem daha da arttı. Tatilimi unutulmaz kılan otele ve çalışanlarına sonsuz teşekkürler.

I always stay in this hotel when at Chios. Such a beautiful location ideally situated at the countryside and so close to the coast, Mesta limani. Everything at the suites is just amazing! The rooms are so nicely decorated, cosy and homey; the village and the people are warm and helpful. You can go there anytime; summer winter, fall or spring!
Everybody working at the suites are just there all the time to help you; they are extremely friendly, and I must mention "always smiling Alexandra" who is such a such friendly personality that one can travel there alone to feel positive to see her smiling elegance and attitude! The breakfast in the suites is phenomenal with local home-made pastries or "börek" as we Turkish people call them! Do try them after a long walk or run to the Mesta limani before the breakfast. Do not miss one of those fish restaurants in the limani. Alexandra and her colleagues will tell you all about Chios!

I spent two nights in this hotel with my partner. The experience of the suites was amazing! The rooms are new and super clean! They are equipped with the latest technology. Our suite had also a kitchen room separately with a wooden oven and there was coffee, tea for the breakfast even thought we had amazing breakfast with traditional products in the restaurant of the hotel. We had also our dinner there and the food was delicious and the prices were affordable as well. We were very surprised by the quality the service of the hotel and the prices. The location also is a beautiful village in Chios island and we felt we were living in a fairytale. The girl in the reception was very friendly and she helped us from the moment we arrived to the hotel with everything. She show us around the village and the beautiful locations of it. I recommended highly to everybody that look forward to have a peaceful and joyful time and have a taste of Greece. Another place in paradise to enjoy Greece.

Peaceful, beautiful, clean, perfect decorated magical suits, the bed was to stay there for ever. Quality all over, excellent food at Iris restaurant. Just a fantastic place all over.
