Probably one of the better Novotels I have stayed at. The staff is very friendly and professional. The rooms always seem to be ready upon our arrival. The location is nice, at the top of the hill and just a short 5-10 minute walk into the shopping district. Because of this it is very quite and a very nice place to get some rest.

Slight dust smell in the rooms and corridors welcoming you. Bed comfort is peerless and expected in 5 stars hotels. Recommended.

We had an operational event there. The seminar room was functional, the catering for the breaks was very good.

For the indicated stars and the price Absolout recommended. We did not test the wellness area but everything else makes a chicken impression.
Check-out and tips for excursions in the area were politely and satisfactorily handled or answered by the hotel staff. Happy to return:)

I loved the spa (great way to warm up on those long winter nights) so spacious and cool in the ruins. Pool is small but just about fun.

Het personeel is zo vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het hotel ligt op de top van de heuvel op lucht een korte wandeling naar restaurants en angle. Veel historical memorials and monuments at the end of a beautiful loopafstand van het hotel. Happy hour is ook erg leuk en sociaal. De kamers zijn schoon en rustig. Perfect for a funky moet rusten. Ze hebben ook fair trade badkamerproducten the geweldig zijn. Ik heb genoten van mijn verblijf en kijk uit naar mijn volgende bezoek!

Price performance good except for the extremely high price for parking, there is not really anything to expose. Friendly staff. The spa area is not always busy. But you can get a cup of cool water in the fitness area. Five to ten minutes to the old town is great. In total for the price a too referring hotel!

It is a hotel that is more oriented towards business travellers or conferences.
The house was taken over 1-2 years ago by Dorint. Since then, Novotel has invested in the (partial) renovation of some rooms. The furnishing has remained, the carpet has been renovated, as well as lamps, decorations and telecommunications. Free Wi-Fi is available. The bathrooms are without design claim, but OK and clean.
The conference rooms are simple and less appealing. The preparation was not done (no projector, no catering).
The time for the scheduled lunch was not well coordinated, it was suddenly called 2 pm instead of 12 o'clock (which was confirmed).
The breakfast is fine and the rooms overall in an acceptable condition (3/5). The Taste of the house is limited.

Excellent service, great facilities, clean rooms, very good breakfast (is worth its money) and food offer, 10 minutes walk to the centre of Mainz.

Was at a meeting there. No overnight stay. The conference room was bright and friendly and fully equipped to meet our requirements (9 participants, approx. 6 hours). Parking is only available in a public car park, daily price approx. €16. The lunch was good, but there was no buffet. You could choose between 3 menus. I can say little about the situation.

I was there for 2 day, don't know how they got 3 or 4 star, in service they are so poor. Rooms are fine. Staff level is not up to mark. Location is prime one I suggest please check other option on same category before selecting it.

I remember back when this hotel was beautiful. It's right by my grandparents house so I have been staying here for years and it used to be a fantastic, upper class hotel. Sadly, it has fallen into a state of disrepair. What used to be sleek, modern rooms are now dingy and musky. Both myself and my parents stayed in non-smoking rooms this trip that reeked of cigarette smoke. The free internet is extremely slow for 2017, it is almost impossible to use unless you upgrade to the paid option (which thankfully is not that expensive). Because I personally find the location to be ideal, and the price is not that bad I know I will be back, but I really hope they put some money into this place. It used to be so nice, but I feel as though they don't keep it up as they should (possibly because it is used primarily by flight attendants for layovers).

Great hotel, good price and family friendly. Brits be aware the steam room and sauna are very German request no clothing! Nevertheless, a nice pool and just 10 minutes from the centre of Mainz. A base for exploring the Rhine. Breakfast was good, the room clean, although was looking a little tired as was the hallways in places hence 4* I am being picky.

Quiet neighborhood. Scenic Mainz. Everything walking distance. Comfortable rest. Here's a little secret: you can view remains of original Roman Empire Wall just behind the hotel. They also have a little herb garden around the patio area.

Hotel has nice rooms with reliable high speed Wi-Fi service. Rooms are up to date with quality bedding, bathroom linens, etc. Breakfast buffet is good. Have not eaten in restaurant at night. Has a nice spa / pool / exercise area. Staff is nice and responsive. Hotel is frequented by airline crews, so sometimes lobby area can become quite busy. Enjoyable place to stay.

My company has used the Novotel for 20+ years, and we employees who stay there just love it. The rooms are simple, but comfortable. You can ask for special items — — feather pillows, fans, duvets — — from housekeeping, and they'll happily bring them. The employees are very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant menu is very thoughtful, with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients, and nicely composed plates. The menu is not your standard hotel restaurant fare. They offer interesting dishes that pique your curiosity and whet your appetite. I've never been disappointed. And if you wish to venture out to the charming city of Mainz, it's a ten minute walk to good shopping, bakeries, department stores, mom-n-pop restaurants, and drinking establishments.
When I'm on a trip in this area for pleasure, I will seek out the Novotel as well. The main train station is just 3 blocks away, making the Novotel a great base hotel for exploring the region.
The front desk staff is wonderful. There's no question too stupid for them, and they work very, very hard to make sure your stay is perfect. They're warm, and friendly, and I always look forward to seeing them.

Excellent hotel near the center of Mainz.

Comfy beds etc, usually not a problem when I stay here. The problem I have is waiting 45 mins, after asking twice, for an iron and ironing board and when they deliver it, they don't knock on your door to acknowledge the fact that's it's being delivered. I don't have x-Ray vision to see through doors and I'm not a mind reader and I shouldn't have to keep looking outside my door to see if it's there. Either provide the ironing facilities inside the rooms or improve your service. Me having to go to work in an unironed shirt looking scruffy for my customers because you failed to provide a professional service is unforgivable!

About a 25 min drive from the airpor. Easy to get to the city, train station is 5 min walk and trains leave twice every hour and takes 45 min. Great rooms and staff.

The hotel is actually not bad at all. Clean, friendly staff, great, but I wonder very that you are numerous morning truck suppliers not stopped to turn off the engine (loading zone is located in the quiet backyard directly under the hotel rooms). Unfortunately, you can sleep no longer than until 5:30 in the hotel. Impudence, actually…

The seminar rooms are well equipped and bright. The food tastes super good. And you can park your car in the parking lot. The employees are very friendly. All in all a great impression.

Room was a good size with lovely hot shower. Bed was very very comfortable. Breakfast was requested in the room, good choice, nice hot coffee, pastries, bread, cheese etc. Only thing missing was some decent tea bags. Can't comment on anything else in the hotel as it was a quick overnight visit.

Conditions are awful! Despite the nice appearance on the website the hotel is very run down and the staff unfriendly. A place to avoid.

Mini bar very small selection. Waiter doesn't know food and drinks menu in the restaurant. Restaurant closed Casemates. Breakfast is not a 4 Sernehaus. Swimming pool and sauna, very good! Staff very friendly. Room cleaning very good. Room up on the pillows ok.

This is a very nice hotel. Just don't come late, unlike other hotels I've been to who are more forgiving with the bookings, they will nail you. I had a problem with my travel agent who booked me in a day before I arrived in Germany. Otherwise it's very close to Mainz city and the staff are very helpful. I would definitely recommend it to any one who has the budget.

It is far, but within walking distance to the river, shopping and is right next to the train station. Unfortunately, the wireless doesn't currently work in every room, but they give you free wired internet if you ask. The employees are very nice. It's pretty expensive and the price for breakfast is outrageous (though rumor has it you can get a free early bird breakfast if you show up between 4 and 630am).

Located on the top of mountain. Too high and too long way to walk from the downtown to this mountain. Real life near the river. If you young then use car or use hotels in the bank of river like Hayat, Hilton or Favorite. Room has tee and coffee. Robe included to room. I would prefer hotel in the center. Staff should learn English better.
