The hotel cannot keep up with the quality and facilities of the large ones. But there is an effort and that counts. No elevator, in the old building it creaks, small windows, rustic bathroom, older furniture. I can live with. Because you get everything you can out of the possibilities. Not like a neighbouring hotel chain that prefers to make even higher profits, rather than investing and then no longer offering. The bed was new and very comfortable. ;-)

Hotel well located. The room is very comfortable and modern. The staff are very nice and welcoming. Breakfast plus really super good, of everything and for all the taste!

Erstklassiges Hotel! Es ist ein zentrales Hotel, das alles bietet, was das Herz begehrt. Die Zimmer sind eine charmante Mischung aus modern und vintage und wurden neu renoviert. Das Bett ist super bequem. Morgens wird man vom freundlichen, hilfsbereiten Personal beim ausgiebigem Frühstück begrüßt. Es gab eine große Auswahl an Käse, Fleisch, Marmelade, Honig etc. Und sogar Obst, Joghurt, Nüsse, Chiasamen und vieles mehr. Alles in Allem bin ich super zufrieden und würde jederzeit wiederkommen.

The hotel is centrally located in Ratingen. Furthermore the nearest station is only 5 minutes away and so you can reach the next city within short time. The breakfast is simple and good and the room was pleasantly bright and clean. In the morning it can get a bit louder during work days.

We were in Dec. 2017 there… and were positively surprised.
We were very welcomed, the receptionist showed us the room immediately. It was too dark to me, which she immediately noticed and then showed us directly two more rooms. I was allowed to choose it, so to speak!
The breakfast was also perfect, lacking nothing. It was also constantly redefined.
The proximity to the train and the bus is great, as you are very fast also in Düsseldorf.
We liked it very much… we will come back!

Don't fall for the "get what you pay for" trap. This place is dated and substandard for it's price. The bed was broken in the middle and the toilet "cupboard" had no light not working fan. Both broken.

For me for over 7 years the choice address when I was in Ratingen. I particularly appreciate that in all these years there was never a standstill in this House. The efficient family of owners is always working to keep the really pretty old building up to date. I really have to say that the success of the House (whenever I am there is well attended) is well deserved. The guest is zurückgegebeneben with a lot of appreciation by regular renovations.

Reception doesn't exist. Breakfast was only offered online but mit in the hotel. Renovations are in Hong, would bei netter of the hotel close till they are done. In everyone Floor you can see an WLAN Router but nowhere the Details for using and LogIn. Rooms are OK.

The staff were very friendly and the room was clean. Perfect location. Great price performance ratio. Would love to come back.

Everything great. Clean rooms and delicious breakfasts. However, a point deduction because we felt we had been pushed out while sitting down. Even while clearing away, even though we still ate.

I was a night guest at the hotel to Barbarossa and I strongly recommend it further! I got a dz instead of the booked EZ, the service is great and the breakfast is also perfectly reasonable. The area is quiet, the room super equipped and the staff super nice! Top.

Very nice family run hotel. It's very basic, no spa, gym or something like that. But to be honest, I don't need that. All I need after a long day in meetings is a roof over my head, a bed, a shower and a broadband Internet connection for watching movies. It's all there and free of charge. The breakfast is also basic, but very good. Service and staff are very professional and very helpful. This is what a family business is all about! I like the concept based on trust — there is a fridge in the dining room stocked with a variety of drinks, 2€ each which is pretty fair in my opinion. Self service based on trust… I really like that. (see picture). Railway and Bus station Ratingen Ost is just a two minute walk from the hotel. Last but not least I really enjoyed my two nights stay and I slept well, which is usually not the case when I have to stay in a hotel.

Excellent and very nice & clean hotel. I really recommend for anyone especially for Indians who are coming to Ratingen for the first time. Hotel staff are very friendly and make you to feel like you are at your home.

Worst service I've ever had in my life! croissants at breakfast were dry and rotten + noise outside made impossible for me to sleep in my room. Next day I asked (very polite) if they could change me to another room to what the guy at reception answered: sorry, policies of our hotel, you gotta sleep there ( (had booked for one week though I left after 3 days) HORRIBLEEEEEE!

We had two rooms in the 2. Floor. The rooms were g comfortably furnished and quiet. Each room had a bathroom consisting of shower, toilet and sink. There was ample space both in the bathroom as well as in the rooms. The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable, the staff professional, courteous and friendly. The Breakfast was rich and tasty. Those who do not have the luxury of a 4 — star or 5-star Hotels (who needs the Pool), is in this Hotel a low-cost Alternative with a good Standard. Parking was no Problem. The station is expected to foot in 2 minutes. When I once again in Dusseldorf for the night, I'll be happy to get back into Barbarossa go.

The Hotel was a disaster. The only thing positive noticed was the mattress, which is really very convenient. The room is extremely small, the toilet is so close to the wall built up that you can't sit on it. To the stability of the bed and the chair, it was also not particularly well made. The rooms on the ground floor directly on a sidewalk and all the passers-by through the window could look falls because already holds not more further on. The technology was also not the Best. The water heater was set so that you either scalding hot or cold water and had the Wi-Fi did not work.
