Very nice 5-star hotel in a good location, just behind the town hall. The superior rooms are large, with futuristic bathroom. The breakfast is excellent and leaves nothing to be desired. Only the pool is very small for a hotel of this price category, so you are already on your feet.

Nice hotel great terrace for drinks on the canal. Not the best lighting in the room but the rooms are generally large and bright so that makes up for Sofitel weird lighting.

On of my favorites in Hamburg. Modern and very spacious rooms and architecture overall. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms quiet. The only thing to mention is that air-conditioning can be loud. The gym is small but very functional. Food/ Bar and Restaurant are great.

The room was dirty. Towel rack stowed and the shower rusted. When I wanted to open the wardrobe, I had the cupboard door in my hand.
At the reception (in Hamburg) the lady could not speak a word of German. Why is there a TV device in the rooms when it can't use it? The remote control was totally worn out and was only to be used to switch on. Switching off only possible on the device itself.
Never back to this hotel.
In short: Dirty, furnishing worn out, consumed or defective. Staff at the breakfast buffet unkind, absent and forgetful of orders.

Very great hotel. Our regular hotel in Hamburg. Had already tested 2 other 5 star hotels but Sofitel is the best. Great stylish rooms. Comfortable beds and a super bathroom. Nice staff in the lobby and good room cleaning. Hotel location perfect in the city but still quiet.

Stayed in this hotel on a business trip. Great hotel! Rooms are spacious and allow you to have a working space in the room. Spa is great. And the best — is the restaurant! Great drinks and food!

Great location in the middle of the old town. Breakfast is at its finest. The sights are all within walking distance. There are few parking spaces in front of the door, but they are free on Sundays and public holidays. The car park is very expensive. There is, however, an underground car park of Contipark 500m away for half the price.

This is our first night of a 4 night stay at Sofitel Alte Wall Hamburg. The location is excellent, 20 MN walk to either direction (harbor and Elbphilarmonie or Banhauf). Our room is of medium size, clean and comfortable. As an extra there is a Bose radio. So far nothing to complain about.

Very good quality as you can expect at the end of Sofitel. Ideally located just a few steps from the Rathausmarkt square or Fleetinsel for the Christmas markets, Neuerwall for luxury shopping, the S-Bahn station Stadthausbrücke or the U3 Rödingsmarkt. The rooms are clean and spacious, very well decorated, the breakfast is very good with a great choice. The bar is pretty nice too. I have not yet had the opportunity to test the terrace on the canals of the Alster. The staff are also very friendly, some people speak French if not English and German impeccable.

The food in the restaurant was good, the service too. At the bar it took forever (1 hour for the burger, 45 min. For 3 drinks). The staff was always courteous, polite and helpful.

Very nice hotel with an ideal location for a city break. Shortcoming: The check in is experienced in other houses much friendlier. You have to leave a bad mood in some professions at home. But room, bar, breakfast and other staff really great and recommended.

Excellent hotel right on the fleet, rooms very clean and large, the beds are very soft but also those who like hard beds will be able to sleep well here. The breakfast was very good. All staff very helpful.

Ok. It's not a bad hotel, but I expect better from a Sofitel. Slowest Internet award of the year (unless you pay for hi-speed… in 2018? Paying for internet in a quality hotel? ). You could send an email if you had time in your side. That's about it. Pretty terrible breakfast that theoretically would have cost me €45. Nice beds and location though. I never understand why hotels stick you in an inferior room, you then ask if they have another and there's an empty one in the same class that's bigger, got a bath etc. Surely they'd want their customers to have the best they can offer?

I was invited to a roadshow at the hotel. The underground parking is easy to reach but very close. The signage in the hotel is not easy to read. Conference room with drinks, wardrobe and snacks were excellently prepared. The service staff were very friendly and quick. Some of the snacks could have been fresher. Well suited for such events.

Very friendly international staff, questions about air conditioning were very courteously clarified by a house technician.

Massage in the wellness area — top!
However, I would like to mention that the reception at a paid massage cannot and should not be!
You arrive five minutes, for personal reasons, too late and you are approached in an impossible way by Mrs. B. That you have to recover from this dominant and unfriendly appearance for the first time!
If I pay and then the massage time is shortened, this is my problem.
… Apart from the fact that I have never experienced that the massage time at other suppliers is shortened by a late arrival.

Very nice hotel. Friendly and efficient staff. The room was clean and comfortable. My only concern was that there was no privacy in the bathroom. There was a clear glass panel between the living room and the bathroom. Bizarre!

Lovely Sofitel. Great atmosphere and understated design. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection is amazing. Lots of healthy options in a designer setting. Good pool and great location in the middle of a shopping district. Parking is available under the hotel.

Can not recommend this hotel to ACCOR favourite guests, because this Hotel is not able to redeem vouchers or points. This and several (minor) service issues lead to this low rating for a 5-star hotel. Rooms and location are good, staff friendly but not familiar with the IT. There are definitively better luxury places nearby.

Great room, very clean, comfy bed, nice bar and restaurant. Very handy for Xmas markets. Efficient metro system makes it easy to get to from the airport.

Great hotel in the centre of town. Rooms look recently renovated and are of a high quality. Breakfast is comprehensive, but €32 extra on the day. The spa is great for a hotel, really well appointed and worthy of being in an actual spa rather than a hotel. I will be staying here for future visits to Hamburg.

Top of the shelf hotel with excellent service, design and food. The location is perfect for exploring the city as it takes only about 5 minutes to walk to the town hall. The spa area is amazing and good to relax in after a long day of walking through Hamburg.

A business hotel that has something in the days. The sandwiches in the seminar break were nothing special, otherwise everything was so clean and tidy. The WLAN in the conference room was quickly overloaded. And the Intérieur, so the rug there had a screaming pattern, which was very tiring for the eyes.

Stayed in a room facing the water on the fourth floor. Layout is good and comfortable and offers decent views and good light. The location of this property is what makes it a winner, right in the middle of central Hamburg you have easy access to all the tourist things you'd want to do as well as transportation to anything outside of that walkable area. The pool, while small is unique and worth a visit. The staff are all genuinely welcoming and very engaging. General cleanliness is fantastic and room was always put together well each day.

My rating covers only the event area. This was spacious, very well organized and equipped with decent furniture. Only the fact that a required beamer was not hung on the ceiling but was centered in the room on a column, disturbed something.

Well located hotel in the heart of Hamburg. The rooms have a good standard, although the beds could be exchanged again which is a matter of taste. The underground parking is not very large and certainly too small at full house.
The disadvantage is the elevator from the garage, which can only be operated with the room card. Of course, it doesn't have to be on arrival.

Stayed in a room facing the water on the fourth floor. Layout is good and comfortable and offers decent views and good light. Emenities are okay. If you want more than two proper espressos with your Nespresso machine a day, you'll need to call room service. Tea selection in the room does not include a black tea if any kind, bit strange. The shower head in our room seemed to be loose and water came out above the model as much as through it properly. The AC did not appear to work at all, with zero air flow. It was fine since we were lucky to have cool evenings and the windows open. Bed still very warm, seems like they've put winter-grade comforters on or they just don't breath. Either way, bed was very hot even when the room was cold. The Lanvin bathroom soaps are inferior to the made in Germany products that the hotel has in all common washrooms. I'd have preferred the common space soaps over the in-room ones. The pool, while small is unique and worth a visit. The staff are all genuinely welcoming and very engaging. General cleanliness is fantastic and room was always put together we'll each day.

Good location, modern, Tesla destination charger right be the garage entrance to the hotel, free valet parking, excellent breakfast. The breakfast staff are amazing.

Service is superb at the receptionist with lots of smiles. However, they do not replace new towels after I have placed them in the bathtub. Yes, I do know they want to save the environment but I would like a fresh piece. I have to call room service for a new one. Not sure if it is the norm. I was asking if they could break my notes to smaller notes so I can use for retail, food and taxi. However, I was rejected after the receptionist hesitated. She directed me to the nearest bank verbally and I AM LOST! Seriously, a luxurious hotel can't break my 200 Euro notes?!

Very nice and modern hotel. The staff at breakfast seems however to be somewhat overwhelmed with the number of guests. So it takes but quite long tables are cleared and newly revealed. This should not happen in known high prices for a breakfast buffet. Room was great.

Beautiful hotel, helpful staff and delicious brunch. If you want to check out the miniature museum while there, definitely ask the concierge to book it for you! Sauna, pool and work out room available also.

Presidents suote is quite spacious for reasonable cost. Sauna, large tub, a dinning room, a living room, large office and a king bed. Really liked the Hermes amenities.

Nice hotel, Nice staf — but there is a window between the bedroom and the bathroom, I simply can not understand it — the response from the staff is that it is architecturally beautiful — no it's stupid. and the free Wi-Fi, is like five years ago — it's not good enough at a first class hotel Thomas and Helene Østergaard.
