Craving a shower after a long day walking in Berlin? Good luck holding it with your hand (no joke, you have to hold it with your hand) in this disgusting hostel. The cleaning staff are noisy doing their jobs and the recepcionists hate their jobs. The only good thing about this hostel is the location, otherwise I would give it 0 stars.

It was noisy. It seems couple of people were dragging a big metal barrel. It was non-stop, never ending. I can't really rate that bad because of this noise. But this noisy environment is also restricting me to give a good rating. Otherwise, it is so so clean with offered price tag. Good deal if you can sleep in noisy neighborhood!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. A good place to stay if you are a few days in the city.

Hostel value for money, good place to go if you want to sightsee, near supermarkets, restaurants and public transport. Lack of organization in the kitchen, lacking basic tableware. The showers well organized but there should be more.

The only good thing about it is the location. Comment that during the stay with my partner we entered a man into the room while we were changing clothes. Good thing we were inside the room, because if we do not get to be, the safest thing is that when we arrived we would have stolen everything. I can't believe these things happen. We were stoned, hallucinating.

Noise. Two nights in a row under the windows of a nightclub Turks strolled a wedding. Well, just in the air did not dirty, the rest of the palette of sounds in full. From screams and music to car beeps. At night! And ten beds in a room where men and women together are a little bit.
But, good location. The Reichstag and Alexandrplatz are on foot. The Reichstag to the left, the Platts to the right from the first large perpendicular street.

And an acceptable place quality price, and close to the u6 metro.

Me and my Friend spent nice days in Berlin due to this nice place. It is in a walking distance from check point charlie, and it also has nice access to public transportation. There are enough showers and WCs and also they are very clean. If you are looking for a reasonable place to stay, I think this place would be your best choice! Loved it!

The worst and dirtiest thing I've ever experienced. Check-in 0:00 — check-out 01:00. I don't have to say any more about that. The staff member at the front desk frug on english (! ) whether something is wrong with the room. We didn't even dare to sleep with things in the beds …

Me and my best friend had an amazing time in Berlin while staying at Check-In Hostel. You can get a well-maintained, regularly cleaned accomodation with friendly staff in the city centre, but in a quiet, lovely neighbourhood. It has a small kitchen, and well enough bathroom facilities and a common room to socialise with fellow travellers or just chill there. The wireless connection is great, and it has a small restaurant offering great food for a fair price.

The most terrible hostel in Berlin!
It started on arrival, staff understands languages other than German.
Unfortunately, the room was not ready to be related.
The first impression was terrifying, everywhere stains on the carpet. On the walls continuously also indefinable discoloration, even the furniture on the corridors can hardly be used without the risk of infection.
Unfortunately, the room has disappointed us, you can unfortunately only open the two large windows on Kipp, with 10 people in a room it is difficult with the air then at some point. Unfortunately, the curtains are also almost torn down, so light protection is not possible.
The tufts of hair we found in beds, cupboards and on the floor are reminiscent of large hamsters.
Both in the room and in the community bathrooms and the kitchen there is mold all over the walls.
The community kitchen is so dirty that it skimmers in several places and certainly not healthy there is something to prepare.
There are 2 toilets for one floor one of which was unfortunately permanently clogged, toilet paper is always Lhr, hand towels were misrepresentation.

We won't be back.

Everything was arranged, the hostel is exactly what it should be: the most that for 1-2 nights.
Nice young man at the reception who speaks English.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the hostel.

Nice, the room are spacious and sufficiently clean. Every bed had locker in the same room, but you'll have to bring from home or buy a locket to make sure your valuables are safe. Staff is nice and helpful. The other guests can be a bit annoying but that's not the hostel's fault, as it isn't the fact that there a wedding venue and it can get a little bit loud at times (looks like Turks really like honking during weddings). The hostel is very close to the U-Bahn (Kochstraße/Checkpoint Charlie U6) and also very central.

Simply GROSS. The bathrooms were literally flooded and the showers were so dirty I did not want to use them. Same goes for the rooms which didn't seem like they were cleaned prior to our arrival. I've stayed in hostels in various places around the world before but this place was the most disgusting one so far.

Cold shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hostel is as it should be. Clean, comfortable, affordable price.

No go guys. Even for the money and it was not the cheapest one. No hot whater. + in bathrooms is freezing cold. Not enough showers and it's dirty and you have to push the button all the time. Smell in the room newer go of. Cleaning comon plases only 1a days. Plenty turkish no tourist but living here/ so you'll got the smell.

Very cozy and normal hostel, the price is the lowest in Berlin, the rooms are clean, bright, there are boxes for storing things with a shoe, there is a shower and kitchen set for it honestly speaking 3 Bala, and so all the rules, on the first floor there are two places where you can eat and dine on Normal price for Berlin, here I ordered a small pizza for €7, near there is a supermarket, Metro and from the center of Ichi not far, but slowly where the 15-20 min. So I b advised for 1 or 2 nights to choose Tavern budget accommodation in Berlin. Very Harasho English and German.

The star is just for the location, near checkpoint charlie, the cleanliness was poor, there were holes in the ceiling and cracks… we slept badly, the shower was not working, the phone was not there, the little towels and they never changed them in the whole stay… Something like that no, I would never go back.

Great location. Nice and helpful staff. Clean rooms. The over all feel of the hostel was a little dull. Rest recommended. Value for money.

The place is clean and has good location, with all services, you can save bags, buying food, spacious rooms, and really the staff speaks many languages, they are kind and help you with the doubts that there are.

The hostel is pretty good in value for money. The beds and sheets are clean and the room too. The staff at the front desk were friendly and the people who were staying at the hotel also. We had no noise issues or anything like that. The negative aspects are as follows: we booked a room of 10 people a month before and arrived and told us that they have exhausted the 10 (when if we had a reservation of 10 for that weekend should have had available). We had to sleep 8 friends in one and the rest with strangers in another room. The kitchen was quite dirty and the fridge had all kinds of food and in all kinds of states, you can imagine, but for the price you pay per night near the center of Berlin, you can't ask for more.

Comfortable bed, but all that is toilet and bathroom is very dirty…

One of the worst hostels I've ever been to. In the room to so much cold, even with the radiator placed at the top. Taking into account that we were skimming over the 0°C outside, it seemed to me fatal. The staff is very edge and your deal was ridiculously bad. The location is very good, but it does not compensate for the price you pay for a room.

Half an hour from the centre walking, is a place comfortable enough to sleep and very cheap, perfect for students. The care received was exquisite, my personal experience is very good.

Nice hostel, good position. Close to Checkpoint Charlie. Cheap prices. Comfortable beds. Good kitchen. Clean toilets. Big living room. No smoking area inside (you have to go out). There is a discount near the hostel and bus stops.

I've stayed here for a 3-days trip in Berlin. The price is very low and the quality is even lower. Costumer service is good but it's the only thing I've appreciated. The place is dirty, noisy and smelly. Some other costumers have occupied our beds so we had to sleep on another bed. Bathroom is a disgusting, wet and dirty. The price is 9€/night, but I want to give you a free advice: spent a bit more and stay in a better place.

If you are coming with heavy bags think twice before booking this place. The check-in desk is on the third floor of a multi-purpose building; however, there is no elevator to take you to the check-in desk. After asking the receptionist about the elevator, he said that its only for heavy items but not for people. If you are with a group, you must all pay in cash. You cannot split the charge per person. They also charge a 10 euro deposit for every key, or if you cannot pay the 10 euros, you can leave them your passport. Not the safest idea. The rooms are in the third and fourth floors, no elevator access. Also, it seems that the floors are shared with the University operating in the same building. The bathrooms are okay, but could be better. There are about 6 showers shared per floor.

For your money-almost perfect accommodation in Berlin. Very clean rooms, good beds, friendly staff, parking on the street is free (! ). If you are not afraid to go a couple of kilometers on foot, save a lot of euros in transport-all attractions within walking distance. Do not forget to carry a little cash as a deposit for the issued keys, the money will be returned at checkout.

Lhostel is great, it's great, lots of showers/toilets, well located, there is just the staff (a girl in the past Sunday day) who is clearly not there to help you, but except this employee, everything is impeccable!

Mailed with the question if there were locks. They said yes, but there were none. Money was missing from someone else in the room. Toilets weren't clean. Basically don't trust anyone and bring your own lock and it's fine.

The price is cheap, but the people who is left is not very orderly and there is noise until late.

Nice rooms and kind service. The room I stayed in had some problems with the door and there wasn't light in the shower stalls. I took a very dark shower in the night. But overall I enjoyed my stay.

Beds are soft and comfortable, rooms are relatively spacious. Kitchen is awful, seriously. One fridge was not working at all, the sink was dirty, etc… I wouldn't use it for cooking, but at least you can store your food in the one fridge (which is full) and use microwave :) the hall is quite nice and comfortable place to chat with people or to charge the phone, there are quite a lot of sockets. One thing I didn't like is that when I was there, it was full house, and they were out of lockers. So the guy at the reception offered me to store my bag in a luggage room. But when I wanted to get my bags in the morning there was another guy at the reception and obviously he wasn't aware of which bag was mine. Technically I could choose any bag (s) in this room and disappear with them… :)

Very cheap but a bit shabby and dirty in the common areas. About 15€/night. Very nice and close to Check Point Charlie.

The price for the location is the only real upside here. It's hard to beat that, but the building itself is quite depressing and dirty. Rooms were relatively clean, had no problem with my bunk. Showers had pressure but the temperature was inconsistent (as well as pretty dirty). The kitchen is severely lacking and Wi-Fi is inconsistent at best. Overall the worst part is there is no sense of community at the hostel. I am traveling to meet people and broaden my horizons and it seems most people here are not interested in that. Would not stay here again.

In shared room 10 beds-mattresses quite uncomfortable, a lot of heat and the location is not that it is a wonder, even if just below there is a Lidl open from 8:00 to 21:00 hours. The shared kitchen seem do not meet the requirements of cleaning. 24-hour front desk.

The place is in a good location, away from the center but near the bar area (only on weekends). The problem lies in the shared areas, that is to say, have 2 bathrooms (W. C) and 3 showers in a floor for 140 people approx. The kitchen had no light and the days that I was not fixed, a chava was already a week and says he reported it. The computers that were provided did not have internet. The shower can be quite worse quite uncomfortable, leaving little water and with a temperature not very good. Value for what you pay for 5/5 (5 being the best rating)

Nice place situated in a good area if Berlin. Only issue is lack of air conditioning. It gets quite hot and stuff in the rooms and having some kind of air, even a fan, would make it much more bearable at night and in the morning. Otherwise it's a great place.

Basic and affordable hostel. Rooms and bathrooms are basic but clean. Showers are nice but requires that you press the button continuously to maintain flow. Kitchen rarely used by guests, which is nice if you like to cook up a storm, but it lacks basic equipment (no toaster, beer glasses, large bowls, sharp knives, etc). Not optimal for solo travelers. Common-room functional but rather bland and sterile in appearance. Area relatively close to sites and happenings, and a couple of supermarkets close by.

The beds and the room very well! The kitchen justilla… and the showers fine except because it is embozaban… But the worst is the staff, a big kid black with the face of a few friends was at the front desk and asked if we got a beer from the fridge since they have the padlock key, and the man rising from our faces still doing their own thing without answering, the minute we say if we could please… and still no answer and staring at his computer screen, finally, we say to him if we were invisible or if not he saw us, immediately picks up and we are face to face with face of a bad mood and a few seconds later he opens the fridge and says that the let's take, pay and bye-bye. Ever I had past something so with a worker from a hostel or youth hostel… amazing!

It's a nice hostel for travelling tourists, unfortunately I was here for a school trip so I was here with a lot (and I mean A LOT) of people. Which meant waiting in line for the few showers they have and always having breakfast in their busy diner next door. So if you need to stay a night in the city centre of Berlin, great option. If you plan on a longer visit: maaaaybe check some other places. 3/5 for me.

This was the most sociable hostel we stayed at during our month-long trip. Good social areas and we met plenty of friendly people. The rooms were spacious and lockers were provided free of charge (lock required though). The staff were a bit mixed: whilst being helpful, they often told us all to 'keep it down' in the social areas which seems a bit ridiculous to me given that it was only 10pm in a youth hostel. Other than that, would definitely recommend it for its fantastic location.

Great value for money on beds and beer. Lack of power outlets in the dorms. Loud and lively atmosphere in the common room.

Hostel good, clean facilities and good quality, quiet area to sleep well, the only problem in the room is that the sun hits directly to the facade of the rooms and they are very warm in the afternoon.

The good: close to the Checkpoint Charlie U-Bahn station, comfortable beds and pillows, relatively low price, 8-bed room had lockers. The bad: it's a party hostel, very noisy and the kitchen was a mess, Wi-Fi is only accessible with a Facebook account, and some of the staff were unhelpful. Not a place I'd return to.

Very close to checkpoint charlie. Generally nice place. But you must like and share their facebook pages for free Wi-Fi access. Make the post can be seen by "only me".

The staff are terrible. Would never recomend this place for anyone! They screamed "shut the f* up" at me and my friend in the corridor and told us he hated our group, in the middle of the day, at normal talking volume!?! They never said sorry. They also said "swedish people" are all the same. This I have recorded!

Good wanted, all for the convenience … don't forget the money for a Deposit or leave your passport.

The hostel is clean and there is a kitchen which is quite good to prepare food and take. A downside is that the rooms, the plugs are not on the side of the bed, or which can't charge the mobile at night. The WCs are not bad, although the light works with sensor and sometimes, if you are alone, you turn off the light, but in relation price-quality is very good and is a few metro stops from the centre.

Nice staff, central, cheap, you have to like their Facebook page to use free Wi-Fi.

Check in Hostel is surprisingly one of the cheapest and simultaneously the most well-Hoatels, I have ever attended. I can only recommend it, and the location is super, right in the middle of Berlin!

The rooms smell like piss, the kitchens are chaotic, the service is less than middle class and the cleaner stole my cell phone. I wouldn't recommend.

The girl's showers on the first floor didn't work so we had to go upstairs. The girl's toilette on the top floor then stopped working so they had to come downstairs. The showers were cold and distgusting. There were 3 outlets in a 10-person room which only 2 worked and they were in front of one bed. The beds were overly squeaky compared to other hostels and you had to check in and post on facebook about the hostel in order to use the crappy barely-working Wi-Fi. If you want to stay one day, its nice for the cheap price but any later is too long.

Really good hostel. Enjoyed my stay. Wir haben gemeinsam im kalten Februar (abends am 7. Februar) sogar die verschlossene Tür geöffnet. :-) Das war ein krasses Erlebnis. Dankeschön. Ihr seid prima.

Positive: central, cheap, lockers in the room negative: very dirty floors (the colour gray doen't help at all), loud (the music at the reception will be on till late at night and I could still hear the music even my room was the third from the reception; people come and go and walk along the floor and even if it is a loud group the reception let them pass without saying anything), smell (the smells from the kitchen travel along the whole floor), staff (I didn't get an introduction, not even a short one), internet (only free if you have a facebook account and lock in via Facebook, from the two public ones one was defect) breakfast (they send you to the 'Diner', croissants are awful) I travelled a lot in my live but this was definitely the worst hostel I've been in.

With prices starting from 6€ per night/bed you can't expect too much luxury. Sanitary facilities for the whole floor. In the rooms, only beds, a locker and a small table with chairs. Everything but largely clean and well maintained. For the price you can't mekkern so.

Personal coming you yell and threaten to fire you and to call the police because you make a drink (and a bit of noise) among young people.
The good atmosphere (aperitif and haughty), — that's the spirit of the youth hostels, otherwise you're going to the hotel.

Nice and clean, staff is really polite, they give you some info about the city, the neighborhood is very center of Berlin and the price is really attractive.

Is somewhat noisy next to on a 6 bed rooms had everyone differently but otherwise was ok who cares not is very reasonably priced and Leipziger Strasse in Berlin is located in Kreutzberg beginning Center in 5 minutes is and again 5 minutes is at Potsdamer Platz.

Great position, amazing staff, pretty cheap. The toilets are not so good but still acceptable. They offer discount for breakfast in a bar close to the hostel: for 5 euros you can eat quite a lot to start the day. Also, they offer free luggage deposit, which is very nice.

I lost my daughter and I can hear my husband looking for me but can't see him there're grotesque art nouveau creatures spewing ectoplasm and insects this wouldn't irritate me if the 2 hundred year old coal fire in the mineshaft wasn't giving my chaffing on my inner thigh also no tobacco in 5 block radius and there's a dude with a pyramid helmet and sword — I found this message written on parchment with blood clutched in a severed hand under the coffee machine.
