Review of Mercure München City Center 4*

We arrived at midnight, had 2 kids who were asleep and about 3 pieces of luggage and 3 carry-ons, 2 strollers, and too many little stuff. It was really hard for us to get out of the cab and then have to carry all of this ourselves up to our room because they do NOT Do that! I mean I get it that it's nice to have the help yourself concept in some services and if I didn't have the kids maybe it wouldn't have been that bad of an experience for us especially that we just arrived at THAT time. And WITH KIDS! When we asked if there is help twice actually they just said no and didn't even offer it as an exception for example and we had to ask again if we can use the huge luggage trolley in the reception area. They said oh yes you can borrow it!? We got a really bad first impression. As for the neighborhood it is not the most pleasant especially if you are a family. The area is full of street beggars. It doesn't feel that safe. But your in Germany of course no one will harm you at the end. It was just a bit uncomfortable for us leaving and coming back to the hotel from the main streets. In general the location is good as its right at the Main station and a 10 min walk to the Alt Stadt. However, the rooms are pretty nice, space wise and are comfortable. I don't know if we had exceptionally different rooms as we had 2 extra cribs for the kids inside. The staff in general are not extra friendly they are just doing their job. Professionally! We didn't have breakfast there so I don't know how it was like.
