A wonderful urban hotel. We had three wonderful days directly in Füssen. From the service, the friendliness, to the food to the cleanliness, everything was just right. We particularly liked the sauna area and the breakfast buffet. For this price such a varied and delicious breakfast, a lot organic and regional — all you can eat of course — we were really thrilled. This attention to detail in every area is truly unique. If you are going to Füssen for a short trip, want to reach the surrounding sights quickly or just like to stroll a bit through the city, this is the right place for you. The price is worth it through and through and we are happy to come back🥰

Great hotel, the 2x in 6 months here. The best breakfast ever, insanely great selection, beautiful oriental SPA, right on the shopping street. We will be back!

What can I say… The hotel deserves a grade of 1+. 2 nights and enjoyed the full service. Really very accommodating staff, an excellent room, great breakfast and a top organization.

Totally beautiful design room in memory of the Bavarian princes and Nobles. Rich Breakfast and very nice staff in the Service, Bar and reception. The tips location in the middle of the city — feet Active Card for buses was free of charge!

The hotel is under construction and that is the main reason for the 3 stars. The construction is very noisy and sleeping in was not possible. Also no parking garage during the construction and the parking system is so confusing. They provide a map to the parking structure but call it P5 and the actual name of the parking structure is something very different. I met a number of tourist trying to figure out if they parked in the correct structure. That seems like something easy to fix. On the other hand, breakfast was amazing.

Absolutely wonderful hotel in Füssen! Maybe 300 yards from the train station. Right in the middle of town, overlooking the main roundabout (with statue). Construction was going on when we were there (1 night), but they let us know about it. When the work is done this will be even better! But. It’s worth mentioning that so many of the small touches (i. E. The tourist tips that come with the keycard, the inexpensive minibar, the room service from a local restaurant since their was closed) made this our favorite Füssen hotel (over The Luitpoldpark hotel across the street). The service was also spectacular, in every way, helping us with a cab, bike rental locations. And the price was reasonable. And there was a balcony. And a (insert positive exclamation) breakfast too! 6 stars.

I would give 6 stars if possible — one of the best and stylish hotels I've been to! Services were excellent as well as food and location. Highlight was the designer room-what could be better for a Kini Fan to wake up and see King Ludwig II and his Neuschwanstein Castle as wallpaper opposite the bed… we will come again for sure!

We had a group of five people (4 adults + 1 child), so we booked one of the larger rooms. The online service we used, which partnered with the hotel, allowed us to book a room for five people. However, a few days before our stay, we noticed that the hotel had given us a receipt for 3 people only. We figured this was a typo; however, when we arrived, the receptionist informed us that only 4 people could stay in that room, and that we would have to pay an extra 45 euro for a child to stay with us. This was unpleasant, but we agreed that maybe we should have taken a closer look at the receipt and agreed to pay. Keep in mind that, aside from two extra pillows and a spot for him at breakfast (where, being a child, he ate nothing), the 45 euro offered us nothing extra. However, what appalled me most was the service. The receptionist very rudely tried to convince us that the mistake was our fault. We tried to explain to him that we had three people searching independently for a 5-person room and that this one came up for all of us, meaning that there was either a mistake in their partner’s algorithm, or their limits. We also said that we were willing to take the charge and did not need to establish fault. However, the receptionist could not let it go and just HAD to prove to us how wrong we were. It felt like he was scolding us… the whole conversation was drawn out, uncomfortable, and unprofessional.

I stayed here for three nights in June 2018. If I return to Füssen, I would stay here again. I would absolutely recommend Hotel Sonne to all my friends & family. It is a great location. Center of town and a two block walk from the train or bus stations. Buses are used to get to the castles and many other destinations. The hotel is very clean and the staff is terrific. The staff at breakfast was wonderful as was the food. Fast & smooth check in. Very clean. I liked it all. Gary.

+ Location (in feet, however, not difficult, as the beautiful place is very small) + staff/very friendly, whether in the reception or at the buffet +/– room/it depends on which room you stay in. Unfortunately, our room had a very small bathtub, no extra shower and the room was quite small. However, there are new, large and beautifully furnished rooms. Make sure of these at the time of booking.

Very friendly staff greeted me at the Hotel Sonne upon my arrival and throughout my stay. The hotel was modern, clean and convenient (for local tourism within Füssen and the surrounding areas). The fitness area has three machines for those who enjoy a bit of cardio and the wellness area offered a welcome respite after a long day walking about. Breakfast was another highlight, offering a selection of hot and cold, sweet and savory options along with freshly squeezed OJ, caffeine of your choice and even sparkling wine. A very pleasant option to stay at when you're in the area.

So the staff is really very friendly, patient and accommodating, you feel in good hands. The first room we were looking really beautiful and modern, but we changed the room at our own request as we desperately wanted a bathtub. The second room was then somewhat "unmodern" and had a carpeted floor, which I didn't like so much. Nevertheless, the room was very clean and I felt comfortable despite the carpet, was also my own decision. :)
The themed rooms are certainly especially great, because the hallway alone offers a lot to marvel at. The location is very good, you can walk to the old town and there are many restaurants and bakeries in the immediate vicinity. I would definitely recommend this hotel because the service and the price — performance ratio is just right.

Do not change anything, exceptional establishment.

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids. Our best impression of the hotel was a breakfast, actually it was our best breakfast at any hotel ever. The choice, quality and service was perfect. It is a designer hotel and you will see a lot of different elegant dresses at every store. This information refers to 2013. Since that time the price has changed and I guess now you pay more than 99 euro for this excellent impression. We had only one kid in 2013 and got a small double room with one snug kid´s bed.

Family of 4 stayed at the Hotel Sonne for a few days over the Christmas holidays. The hotel was very nice, clean, and comfortable. It also opens out into the main pedestrian area of Fussen, which is important to us as we really enjoy being able to comfortably walk to restaurants and shops. The rooms are, by American standards, oddly decorated with our room favoring black and purple, but we don't travel Europe to experience American standards so not a big deal for us. We look forward to staying at Hotel Sonne again in the future.

This hotel is very welcoming. Through the Sissikostüme, the whole thing gets a special touch. The food is good. Even the Frühstücksbüffe leaves nothing to be desired. The good thing: after Augiebigem sleep in the spacious rooms you can stay until 12h. We would love to come back.

Hotel Nice but located in particular noisy area (full center) and with not particularly clean and cramped rooms. Rather expensive, to be considered only if you are looking for something in the center to visit the nearby castles.

Fussen is a great jumping off point to explore the Bavarian region. Our stay was over Christmas and the staff provided a present for all the guests in the morning! I highly recommend this hotel.

In an eight day trip to Germany and Austria, we stayed in five nice hotels. This one was by far the best and most interesting. It's a lovely facility, with costumed mannequins throughout. The room was great, the entire hotel was lovely, breakfast was AMAZING and the staff could not have been nicer. The location is perfect for exploring the nearby castles. Our only regret is that we could only stay one night. I would go back for two or three nights in a heartbeat.

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly during all interactions. We enjoyed our room as it was very spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast in the morning was absolutely fantastic. It had lots of yummy options. The location was perfect for exploring the old city.

Loved the uniqueness of the room and the breakfast was very good as well. First concern is related to the bedding. I really felt the springs in the matress and the pillows were a bit underfilled. Had to fold it a few times to try and get it up to something that would support a side/stomach sleeper. The second was the thermostat. Couldn't figure out how to turn it down enough to keep either myself or my lady from sweating without keeping the balcony door open.

Great room! Loved the central location in Fussen and the close proximity to Neuschwanstein Castle. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The property and room was well kept and very clean. Their facility includes a self serve laundry which was invaluable during our long trip through Europe. The breakfast was excellent with many choices to satisfy.

The hotel is very beautiful and the position is very strategic. All was perfect. I'm afraid only for one thing, I booked for two persons and one very little dog, when I booked I asked if there are some problems if I bring a dog, and the staff say to me "no problems sir", but when I was in hotel, the staff say tome that the dog can't stay in breakfast room and can't stay in restaurant room… sorry but I need this information at the moment of reservation so I can decide what to do. This forced me to have breakfast and dinner out of the hotel as if I had to share my wife, dine first alone (and she stay out with the dog) and then dine alone and I stay out with the dog. For breakfast we were told we could have a tray with breakfast and take it (us) down to the outdoor bar and have breakfast there as being outdoors the dog could stay … This point could be better managed. For the rest the hotel is amazing.

Good and varied breakfast.

This hotel had all the makings of a 5 star hotel, but it fell short. The room that we booked was perfect and almost exactly as we had seen it on the website. We asked for a view of the castle, which although is advertised, is not available. Instead we were almost directly above their outdoor restaurant, which made it impossible to sleep with the windows open because of the noise. Also, our view was of other rooms, but they looked more like storage rooms. The room itself was gorgeous! We checked in late in the day, and that evening when we went back to the room, we notice a faint smell of sewer in the room. We call mgmt. And he came right up with a tray of tools and liquid cleaners. He said that they forgot the clean the drain. About 10:30 that night, the smell became so horrible that we asked to be moved. They said "sure, come down, get the keys and move next door", which we did with no help from them. We also had them book, one month in advance, tickets to go the castle. When we got there, the reservation was for 33 days before we were even in the country! It was a hassle, but we were able to get on a tour. At check out, they offered to comp the parking and that was the extent of it. The manager's exact response was "sorry 'about that. " Too bad, it could have been a 5 star hotel easily.

Nice, lovely, very special design of the hotel and rooms! Rooms are large, cozy, bathroom is very comfortable. Beds as well. The staff is very friendly indeed, breakfasts are very good.
Room for improvement : no ironing facilities in the room, no teapot (this is not a big problem, but the first thing is). Fitness center is poorly equipped — all machines are out of date and uncomfortable, the aircon system is really bad.

This hotel is centrally located and is within a few kilometers of the castles. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. This hotel also has a washer and dryer on site you can use as a guest. The underground parking is something to get used to, but is efficient. The room was spacious and very comfortable with air conditioner. I will stay here again in the future.

Hotel superlative in everything from breakfast to dinner from the staff to the room everything is cared for in the least details only advice ask ask for rooms not facing street if it annoys the noise.

The Hotel is simply super. The rooms are furnished with lots of love and are totally comfortable. Also the idea of the individual rooms, to dedicate the people to Ludwig II around (Sissi, Ludwig, Otto, Marie, etc. ) and accordingly equip is great and makes the stay here special. The staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful. The food in the Restaurant is recommendable and the Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. Here is a guest and not a number. When you come back after a hike, you get the feeling, you come home. We can only recommend the Hotel and will come back.

This hotel was a great break from the standard, with interestingly decorated rooms. The furnishings in the rooms and accommodations were quite nice. The best part of the hotel was the outdoor cafe and dining, which gives great views of people moving through the city center. The breakfast was also quite a great spread and I highly suggest using the automatic fruit juicer!

Great hotel, central location, interesting decor. Very efficient hotel, booking the tickets for the castles particularly impressive, everything worked like clockwork. Our rooms were on top floor which did mean that they were quite hot at night and we needed the windows open. Being a central location and during the Euro football tournament it was quite noisy late at night — but it was fine, and good to stay somewhere where there was some life in the evenings. Plenty of local restaurants and everything within walking distance. Castles were a 10min bus ride away, buses were free with the stay so it wasnt even worth getting the car out of the car park, Great stay, loved the town and Bavaria.

A very bad room suffers get guests for an overnight stay. Very small and very noisy location. Breakfast good, but scrambled out of the bag.
Service inattentive, another coffee must be requested several times.
Highlight was then when you check out, that the guest before US (Australian? ) Gifts of from home then we got, though in point of view, were not.
I don't know the other hotels in Füssen, would not book again but that experience Sun Hotel!

But weaknesses are:
The parking of vehicles in the garage at the surface is unsuitable or even risky for the safety of the vehicles (1/5)
The staff — especially at the reception — is not always friendly and is evidence of a lack of strict professionalism, which is for the less surprising in Germany. Fortunately service personnel to give average 2, 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable but noisy due to its proximity with the Hall in the direction of the dining room (3, 5/5)
The bathroom was well equipped — including for a disabled person — but too narrow sink, little room for deposit business of toilet (3/5)
Breakfast great 5/5
General decoration of the establishment very ostentatious, is worthy of a tolerance of the 19th century houses.

We were 4-nights with our 2 children and the hotel was lovely. The treatment is excellent, very familiar and customized… thank the good treatment of Beatriz, Franz and Claudia… Although all the staff is lovely. I advise sit you in the terrace of the bar and take a good beer and a good dish as them bavarian potatoes or the baked bread… has been our second time in this hotel (after seven years) and without place to doubt always is a very good choice.

It was a stay enjoyable, reception staff was very friendly and attentive, a special mention to Cruz Garcia for their help to plan our tours of the city and the visit to the castles and surrounding area. Excellent breakfast, very varied and rich. The restaurant is excellent and the menu very good. Comfortable rooms. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel. Easily located in the center, a short walk from the train station. We simply followed the crowd to the main street of town and there it was, even pulling heavy suitcases, it wasnt too bad. The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are comfortable. I found the room quiet with the windows shut even though we were on the main street. The breakfast that was included was beyond wonderful. The wait staff was very helpful and friendly. We had to catch a very early train the second morning and the staff prepared our brunch to go; it was so much food that it lasted us the entire day, and it was delicious.

We had a great time at your hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had some laundry done while we were there and some of our clothes were mixed up with other guests, but we got everything we had sent in to be cleaned. We loved the location.

We were so impressed with the Hotel Sonne. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. We had only managed to book one night on the web and when we requested a second night the hotel went to great lengths to accommodate us. We stayed in one of their designer Romantic rooms with beautiful decor and a lovely comfy bed. At first it seemed unlikely that we could have a second night in that room but when we got back from visiting the castle we were told that arrangements had been made so that we could have a second night in our romantic room. The decor of the entire hotel is beautiful — bold colours, lovely artworks on the walls and great attention to detail (including mannequins wearing ball gowns from a musical about Ludwig). The breakfasts were excellent with a variety of tasty choices and we also enjoyed coffees and exotic ice-cream in the bar which played some of our favourite jazz music. The location is also excellent for visiting the castle and Fussen is a picturesque town steeped in history, well worth exploring. In addition the view of the snow-covered Alps was breathtaking. We loved every minute we were there. We would definitely stay in the Hotel Sonne again.

Lovely Hotel and gentle staff! When me and my wife arrived, at evening, our check-in was already fulfilled and our room was exactly as we've seen at pictures. It was a short stay, but with a certain of new returns in the future. Delightful breakfast and excellent localization. In resume, we loved our stay at Hotel Sonne Füssen, Alles Gut, Vielen Dank.

I stayed here 20 years ago and had a great time, and my experience was the same again. We were three in the party with a 9 year old and my wife. The room was nice, bed comfortable, the service in the restaurant and at the front desk was very customer focused as well. We had a good Wi-Fi connection as well. The food in the restaurant was delicious. If there are any downsides, we like firmer and plumper pillows and the parking space next to the hotel is small and was always full, so we parked at the public parking across the street for 20 euros a night. I would highly recommend the hotel and restaurant. If I go back to southern Germany, it will be on top of my list.

I have stayed in hotels from three to five stars in more than forty cities of America and Europe being the Sone Hotel Fuessen one of the most excellent that you visit. Its greatest value is in the personal. Establishment more than recommended.

What a great stay! It's right on the walking market, close to shops and restaurants. Underground reserved parking was reasonably priced and extremely useful with parking difficult to acquire nearby. The rooms are a bit eclectic, but very clean and comfortable. We booked 2 adjoining rooms as we have a large family (by European standards). Breakfast was probably the best we had at any of our stays in Germany and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definately stay here again on our next visit to Fuessen.

The staff at Hotel Sonne were amazing. My husband and I went to Fuessen for our 5th anniversary and had a wonderful time. The hotel was even nicer than I had expected — very spacious rooms with a balcony overlooking the palace on the hill. The concierge put together a great packet helping us coordinate how to get to the castles and around town. The breakfast may be the best I've ever seen in a hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Your hotel was our favourite of all the places we stayed in Germany! The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and clean and the decor was whimsical! The breakfast buffet was excellent! The hotel is conveniently located to visiting the nearby castles. My husband enjoyed your gym and we both enjoyed the sauna room. The hotel is in the heart of this little town and a short drive away from the castles. The staff was very friendly and the hotel bar as well as full-service restaurant has excellent drinks and delicious food. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the balcony was an added bonus. They have underground parking with direct access to the hotel and they booked our castle tickets for us, helping to avoid the long lines. Overall, a great experience.

One of the best places to sleep in Fussen. In reception you work a girl from spain so if you have a problem with English or German… this is your best option. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. And the breakfast is really complete. You have parking and is conveniently located in Fussen. We will come back.
