This was a very nice hotel. The staff were very nice people and the owner of the hotel was very accommodating. He and his staff ensured we had a very pleasant stay. The rates at the hotel are very reasonable and the breakfast was perfect. Plenty of variety for people with all tastes to have a tasty breakfast. I would also recommend that if you book then do so directly with the hotel you will save roughly 15 Euros per night. Our room was great because it had a door entrance from outside so we had easy access to the car for bringing luggage in and it was also right on the garden, making it easy for our son to go out and play on the swing if he wanted. The owner also informed us if we needed to stay an hour longer after check out that it wouldn't be a problem just as long his people had enough time to clean the rooms. I found this interesting because it was in direct contrast to what someone on here complained about. So if you are looking for a wonderful hotel close to a lot of beautiful sights. I highly recommend this hotel.

To be fair, the rooms are really nice, the beds quite comfortable and the breakfast is fine. I probably would have given the hotel a 3 to 4 star rating. However, the problem really was with the staff. When we booked, we asked if we could already access the room at 9am rather than 3pm as we wanted to work. Also we would like to stay a bit longer the day after. They answered they cannot confirm it yet but we should ask the day before arrival again. So we did, it was not possible, but that's ok as the terms are different in the hotel. I therefore asked if we could sit somewhere else together, we do not require anything and would just work on our laptops. They said we can sit in the breakfast room from 11am. When we arrived, around 10am, we asked if we could access the breakfast room already. The manager said in a quite discouraging way that he confirmed 11am, not 10am, but allowed us to access the room (of about 6 tables, 4 or 5 were empty…). At around 1pm, they asked us to leave as they wanted to prepare the room for the next day, but we could access our room at 2pm. We went for lunch and thereafter went to the room (there was no free water but 0.5l for EUR 2.80. At checkout, they asked us to pay EUR 5.10 for the bottle, I do not know why). On the phone they said that additional drinks can be ordered until 11pm. As I said, we were there for working and around 10pm we called and asked for coffee.

We (MS 26 + Mann 31 + Child 2, 5years) had booked one night (double room with extra bed/cot + breakfast) in the Hotel Schöner Garten.
We were greeted very nicely and immediately had a coffee offered, as we had to wait five minutes for our room (we were there earlier) and our little one was also cordially received.
The room was really great, great décor, very clean and a great view.
Breakfast was also very good, we were asked what we would like to drink and then got a jug of coffee brought to the table.
The food (fruit, rolls, sausage, cheese etc. ) were very fresh and tasted excellent.
We can definitely recommend this hotel and will come back again if we are next time (hopefully a little longer) again in Lindau.

Hotel very and excellently run. It has a beautiful, well-kept garden on which you can relax sitting on a rocking or a table. Great rooms and its décor. It is about 3km from the centre of Lindau but is situated in a quiet and easily accessible location. Recommended.

Lovely hotel. Nice comfortable rooms, attentive host and a nice breakfast. This is a business hotel but I'd be verty happy to stay here for a leasure break.
