The restaurant was excellent although not cheap. Lovely and atmospheric eating in the little courtyard on a summer evening.

Nice and clean rooms, AC is bit flanky but works.

Were over the weekend here and we really liked it. The location is really top, in the middle of the old town. Our room was large and clean. The room was very clean and the breakfast was very good. Unfortunately we could not judge the restaurant because we always ate on the way. However, we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Located in the middle of the old town. Great as an old building is kept up to date. That's a lot of work. This means that the rooms and the facilities are only to be operated with large = expensive effort. The corresponding restaurant Backhole was rated by Michelin top. Savings Foxes book an arrangement overnight with half board. Nat. You can also eat/order a la carte. We were not deceived. As the Swiss head waiter would say: All tipi Topi! We will be happy to repeat our visit.

First class romance secret tip in a perfect location, quiet, inexpensive, clean, new bathrooms, was pushed 50x serviceable in Heidelberg. Tip!

Small Michelin-starred restaurant. Fine dining. Pleasant (not stiff) atmosphere! Very delicious food. Unfortunately, we had to return 3 equal foods because they were just lukewarm. This was corrected immediately.

Very friendly hotel located just off the main street. The staff are very helpful and friendly and immediately give you Wi-Fi access with the room keys. Everything is fine via Rfid so you can keep the roomkey in your wallet/mobile phone case. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and the bathroom is adequate with plenty of towels. The is a small cupboard, large double bed, work desk with a chair and a small sitting area with two armchairs. The mattress is too soft for n'y taste, in fact you sink into it even with a normal body weight. You can open the windows (my room had three) which was necessary as I found the room to smell slightly stuffy/moldy. Then again I have a very sensitive nose.

Excellent restaurant with Emcanto. Sabfosa and well presented food of German inspiration but with a French-Italian touch. Elegant and comfortable atmosphere.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Backmulde. It is in the Altstadt portion of Heidelberg, which is mostly foot traffic only, but it does have a small courtyard where you can park. Everything you would want to visit is an easy walk, including the Alte Brücke and the Heidelberg Schloss. It's situated in the heart of the University, actually on the same street as the Uni's cafeteria/student center, or Mensa. We were traveling three deep and had a VERY large room with a double bed and two singles. Perfect! It was so spacious and breakfast was wonderful. Also, we arrived during a heat wave and our room had an air-conditioning unit that dealt with it nicely, which can be hard to find in europe. I would definitely stay again. Charming, great location, hospitable staff, and super spacious rooms. Theres no elevator to my knowledge, so be prepared to carry your bags, though. Thank you Hotel Backmulde!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Backmulde. We had a quiet, comfortable room with lovely views. The location is excellent, with an easy walk to the old city and its fine restaurants and shops. The hotel restaurant was also of a high standard.

This is a great hotel directly in the center of Heidelberg. The room was perfect and it was always kept clean. Our only problem was getting in and out of the parking lot on a very narrow street. We never knew if we were going to get a spot until we arrived at the hotel.

I had a wonderful experience at Gasthaus Backmulde. As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe and secure there, and was given a nice, big room in a part of the hotel that ensured that. The room was exquisitely clean with amazing views and the hotel is close to everything you need to find in Heidelberg: the castle, the river, the main shopping district and public transport — you can even walk to the train station. The staff were courteous and ever-so-helpful, with a lovely breakfast served in the morning and gourmet restaurant open at night. As I am a traveling oenophile, I had only to open their wine list to find the best bottles in the area. It isn't even a question as to where I will stay next time I am in Heidelberg. I will stay at Gasthaus Backmulde.

In the midst of the city, the short distance to the archaeological Institute and the city centre. The atmosphere of an old house to enjoy. With selected friendly staff. And a really delicious Breakfast buffet. And Sleep in a beautiful calm.

For this Hotel you need a sixth star to the rating. Everything is consistent and the staff is the Hammer. We were at the turn of the year there and had the Silvestermenue booked. Indescribable, a dream. Starting with the ambience, decoration, continue at the restaurant (of his profession to love) to cook only one word — amazing! This Hotel is a must we love and recommend in every way.

Simply only super. In every respect.
